Chapter 110: 101、The most romantic confession in the legend
“Ivy Aretha, I love you!”
Michael Gordon’s words fell into her ears one by one, her memory freezing on that scene: the white shirt, the bright-eyed boy, and the playful smile on his lips.
For a moment, Ivy felt as if they had met before, and had even possibly loved each other!
In the distant past!
Ha!
Why would she be swept away by mere sweet words?
Ivy scoffed at herself!
There had been no shortage of men who said they loved her over the years, so what was going on with her now, to be so off-balance?
“Michael Gordon, just how many women have you said this to!”
Ivy looked at him somewhat amusingly, and at herself, “Could it be that saying ‘I love you’ is addictive to you?”
Michael’s heart sank, his arm around Bianca loosened, and a trace of hurt flickered in his deep eyes. It was the first time he had told a woman he loved her.
But instead of being moved, she didn’t even believe him. Was he really that casual a person in her eyes?
“Uncle Gordon, don’t be sad. My mommy is just jealous!”
Like father, like daughter, Bianca saw the loss and hurt in Michael’s eyes. She patted his chest lightly in comfort, “But Uncle Gordon, you need to be more serious when confessing your love. My mommy thought you were joking!”
Joking?
A twitch in the corner of Michael’s eye, was he the kind of person who would take such a sacred confession of love as a joke?
“Ahem, alright!”
To Ivy’s surprise, Michael cleared his throat seriously, got off Bianca’s bed, walked up to her, fixed his hands on her shoulders, looked deep into her eyes, and began to speak word by word, “Ivy Aretha, I, Michael Gordon, love you!”
The deep, resolute voice fell on Ivy’s ears, a simple, straightforward confession that struck her heart like a promise.
Ivy used to think that whenever a man said “I love you,” it usually meant “I’m coming for you.” Hearing it sounded frivolous and unreliable, even nauseating, as though there would be a day when a man would say such words to her, and she would get goosebumps all over.
In fact, there had been plenty of people who had said they loved her over the years!
Her feelings were indeed as she had expected, but today, when she heard Michael say those words, there was a different feeling.
The words “I love you” coming from his mouth didn’t sound as disgusting as they did from others’ mouths, and didn’t put as much pressure on her as they did coming from Mario Jensen’s mouth.
Instead, there was a sweet taste spreading in her heart…
She thought he must be crazy!
How could she have this kind of feeling for this enchanting man?!
“Michael Gordon, is love something to say out loud?”
Isn’t it said that, what’s on your lips is like, but what’s hidden in your heart is deep love?
“If love is to be shouted out loud, who would know if it was hidden in the heart?”
Hearing this, Michael was first taken aback, and then he understood from the flush on her face, “Do you like to do it directly?”
Do… do it?
Is love not something to say, but to do?
Ivy’s forehead flushed with blood, her cheeks turned crimson, and her next move was to step heavily on Michael’s pink butterfly slippers.
She then turned her head and left while he was in pain, still angrily directing Cathy to prepare dinner for one less person!
Unwelcoming freeloaders at their house!
Seeing this, Bianca jumped off her pink bed, pulled Michael into the room, and closed the door.
Her eyes darted around, then she looked at Michael and whispered softly, “Uncle Gordon, you really like my mommy, don’t you?”

Michael, holding his aching foot, looked down at his daughter and nodded his head.
This woman was great in every way, except for her explosive temper. That stomp was no joke! It was a good thing he was wearing slippers at home! If she had been wearing high heels, his foot would have been completely crushed!
“Will you marry her?” The little girl seemed completely unfazed by her father’s foot being abused and continued to ask him with her eyes turning.
“Darling, why would such a smart little girl like you ask such a silly question?”
If he wasn’t going to marry her, why bother confessing his love at all? Was he simply wasting all his energy on someone like her?
“This question is very important, and you must answer me honestly!”
Seeing the serious look on the little girl’s face, Michael’s curiosity was also piqued: “How important is it?”
“I heard from my uncles and aunties that dating without the goal of marriage is playing the field, and confessing without the intention of marrying is just taking advantage, groping, and profiting…”
“Stop, stop, stop!”
Michael was shocked by the little girl’s seriousness, wondering where the five-year-old had learned to speak such classic adult lines!
Damn, how did Ivy teach her daughter, so young and already filling her head with such twisted things!
“Alright, I’ll tell you!”
If he kept going, it would probably challenge his endurance!
Michael sighed, then picked up the cute little girl in a small cartoon home outfit, looking like a doll, kissed her, and said seriously, “Of course I will marry your mommy. If a man can’t even give marriage, then he doesn’t deserve to tell a woman he loves her. Remember that, darling?”
In all his memories, he, Michael Gordon, had never said “I love you” to a woman. But once he had said it, he would take responsibility for that love.
“Darling, remember, when I grow up, I’ll know if a man loves me by whether or not he’s willing to marry me!” With her big eyes, fluttering eyelashes in front of Michael’s eyes, her chubby little face pressed close to his cheek and she gave him a hard kiss, “You love mommy, and darling loves you!”
“Good!”
Michael found his voice choked as he said this, his eyes on the little girl in his arms, the corners of his eyes filling with a thin layer of mist.
For the first time in twenty-seven years, someone told him they loved him – his own darling had told him she loved him!
Michael felt that all the luck he had experienced in his life thus far could not compare to this moment when he heard his daughter say she loved him!
“Darling is hungry, dinner must be ready, let’s go eat!”
The little girl squirmed playfully in his arms, urging him on, her little mouth pressing against his ear, speaking in a voice only the two of them could hear, “Don’t worry, with Darling here, I won’t let Mommy starve you!”
“Good!”
Michael smiled and nodded his head. He then reached for the door of the bedroom and opened it. The moment it opened, he saw Ivy’s misty, teary face, his hand suspended in midair in the act of pushing the door.
