The Creatures That We Are-Chapter 1180: Dirty Laundry
Chapter 1180: Dirty Laundry
Mark slowly looked up at War Tiger when he reached the lakeside. His sunken, sharp features arranged into a satisfied smile. “Finally.”
War Tiger drew the Dragonslaying Giantsword from his back and grinned. “I’ve kept you waiting.”
“Why, you haven’t brought any help?” Sitting on the throne, Mark stretched his neck. “The Heavenly Way hasn’t weakened me as much as you think.”
“Help?” War Tiger raised his sword at Mark’s forehead. “Don’t you know that a family’s dirty laundry shouldn’t be aired in public? Besides, I want to be the only one to enjoy the privilege of killing my old man.”
“Good. You’re finally acting like a real man.” Mark’s lips curled up. “That’s my son.”
The word “son” seemed to trigger War Tiger’s rage. He moved so fast that it looked like he had vanished, streaking across the lake like a gray wind toward Mark.
Instead of standing up, Mark remained on the throne with his back arched and head lowered, like a boxer resting between rounds. Meanwhile, the giant horns across the lake burst toward War Tiger.
War Tiger sliced the horns into pieces with a flurry of fierce slashes while dodging left and right, zigzagging toward Mark by using the horns as his stepping stones. He moved with such easy agility that it seemed like he would be able to dodge the horns perfectly no matter from what angles they were stabbing at him.
The exchange told Mark that War Tiger was much stronger than he had been the last time.
With a scoff, the death monster rose to his feet and moved his shoulders. From a short distance, War Tiger tucked his legs up to avoid the two horns thrusting at his limbs before stepping on them and leaping toward Mark.
Horns came at him at the same time in an attempt to stop him. Smiling, War Tiger hurled his greatsword at the death monster. It hurtled toward him like a silver cannonball before the horns could converge to block it.
Clang! Mark raised his steel-like left arm to deflect the sword, sending it spinning above his head. Suddenly, War Tiger was right above Mark, grabbing the sword securely and following its natural trajectory to make a downward swing.
Eyes twitching, Mark crossed his arms as a shield above his head.
The sword’s radiant gray aura crashed into Mark and his throne. The tremoring power took shape as a glowing hemisphere and spread outward, instantly razing the entire island to the ground. Like a meteorite had hit the artificial lake, the water surged in all directions, turning into a massive fountain.
The energy waves continued to spread, but the two caught in it had already leaped out, moving and clashing across the large patch of grass at lightning speed.
They collided at high frequency, leaving a long trail in their wake; punches were thrown and slashes were made as energy rippled and exploded. From above, it looked as if the grass pitch was under bombardment.
War Tiger hadn’t lied. Had One Stone joined the fight, she would have died without leaving an intact body, and she wouldn’t even know at whose hands she had met her demise.
In the first ten or so seconds, the “gray orb” was fierce and pressuring the brown one. Soon, the gray one intercepted the brown one and sent it hurtling toward the amusement park in a diagonal trajectory. It crashed into the foundation of a Ferris wheel.
The wheel toppled to the side. War Tiger plunged toward Mark’s landing site.
All of a sudden, a powerful light lit up a spot in his eyes.
A tremendous brown shockwave shot out like a laser beam, instantly melting much of the Ferris wheel and shooting at War Tiger before he landed. The deep brown seeped into the monochrome world.
War Tiger had nowhere to dodge, and he didn’t plan to.
Veins popping up along his arms, he swung his Dragonslaying Giantsword down with powerful gray energy swirling along the blade. The fierce elongated aura cut the brown shockwave in half. The energy split into a Y like a reversed waterfall meeting a stubborn stone. Amid the water, however, a deeper brown orb slammed into War Tiger.
It was Mark, now bigger and stronger with bloodied braided horn on his head and spinning ox horns in his hands.
His overall power doubled. He was getting serious.
Tucking his arms in, the two horns sliced toward War Tiger’s torso like brown scissors. War Tiger brought his blade down to block it.
Two trails of energy intersected and left a cross on the canvas of night. War Tiger had blocked the attack with difficulty, but his greatsword fell out of his grip and spun across the sky, while War Tiger plummeted toward the ground fast.
Mark gave chase, drilling down toward him.
War Tiger didn’t show any panic as blood trickled down the corners of his mouth. He drew his Green Dog Demon Blade and injected it with energy. As soon as he landed, he rolled to the side, and boom! Mark hit the ground like a drill, the resulting energy explosion sending soil flying.
The shockwaves lifted War Tiger off his feet despite him dodging the direct attack. He landed on his feet two seconds later, propelling himself toward Mark.
Now wielding his Green Dog Demon Blade, his offensive power dropped, but his agility increased. On the contrary, Mark had doubled his size and became much stronger for it, but his agility suffered.
For the next dozen seconds, the large and small billiard balls began another wild, violent tango, cutting the center of the park and sputtering sparks and energy ripples.
The brown one chased the gray one doggedly, fierce yet always a step slower.
However, dodging alone wasn’t going to win a fight.
Finally, Mark found an opening and sent War Tiger’s weapon flying with an upward hit. War Tiger hurtled upward as well, arms numb and almost dislocated.
Without hesitation, Mark leaped with both feet in pursuit.
Covered in injuries with blood gushing out of his mouth, War Tiger stared at the night sky, his gaze quickly focusing after a brief dazed moment.
The warmup was over.
