The Crimson Reaper-Chapter 88: Feral Luciel

Luciel’s eyes snapped open as he gasped for air.

He quickly sat up, hysterically checking his surroundings while trying to catch his breath, but his vision was blurry, the only thing he could see was his Qi bar depleting rapidly.

<Yin: 37.5>

<Yang: 12.5>

"Luciel?"

He could hear a familiar male voice calling out to him, but he couldn’t focus on it. Only one thing was occupying his mind.

’Blood.’

"Are you in there?"

Luciel blinked a few times, waiting for his vision to clear up.

The first thing that came into his vision was Alex who wore an anxious expression on his face.

Luciel’s eyes started to glow vibrant red at the excruciating hunger. He was aware of everything, but no matter how much he tried not to think about it, his friend was nothing but a snack.

"Run," Luciel ordered with a growl, having a feral look on his face as he licked his lips, revealing his long, sharp fangs.

’That’s not Luciel...’ Alex thought to himself after seeing him eying his neck like a crazed beast.

Alex started to back away slowly after Luciel extended his claws, slowly getting up.

Gulping, Alex went to reach for his weapon, but there was nothing attached to his belt, he left it in his room. ’Shit...’

"Scarlet!" Alex shouted, quickly turning around before starting to run.

It was an odd feeling for Luciel. He was aware of everything that was going on, but his humanity was turned off, and only primal urges remained.

Once he saw his friend turning his back and making a run for it, Luciel snarled, a predator inside him waking up as he relaxed into the chase, enjoying every moment of it as he let go of his chains, only wanting to get rid of this crawling thirst in his throat.

"W-what’s going on?" Scarlet stepped outside of her little chamber once she heard the noise, rubbing her eye.

She blinked a few times, trying to focus on the two figures that were approaching him.

After identifying the two people who were getting closer to her, she gasped at the sight.

"Alex" She shouted after seeing that he was being chased by Luciel who seemed to be out of control.

Luciel pounced on Alex, pinning him against the ground, scratching his arms with his claws as he got ready to stab his fangs into his friend’s neck without hesitation.

This reminded Luciel of his first victim. Where the thirst was so strong that he simply couldn’t stop himself while being in full control of his body.

Scarlet put her hands in front of her and started to chant a divine art. She told Luciel and herself that she was going to kill if he should show any kind of aggression and this was the moment.

She didn’t see him as a friend or a human, only as a monster to be killed.

But before she could finish, Nosferatu appeared out of nowhere in front of her and grabbed her by the hand, glaring at her.

He knew what she was about to do. Nosferatu wanted to scold her. There was no need to go to such an extreme when all Luciel needed was some help.

"This one’s no good for you. Try this instead." Nosferatu said to Luciel, pulling away Alex and throwing Scarlet in front of him right after.

Nosferatu could recognize Luciel’s starved state and feel extremely low levels of Qi and feeding on Alex won’t help him out unfortunately.

Luciel hissed the moment Nosferatu stole his prey, but droll started to appear at the corner of his mouth after his leader had gifted him something even better.

"Nosferatu! You-" Scarlet was cut off once Luciel’s fangs pierced her skin, injecting his venom into her bloodstream that started to do its job, paralyzing her completely, unable to speak or move.

Scarlet’s fear was replaced with fury as she cursed in her mind, swearing to gods that she was going to eliminate every stinking bloodsucker in this world.

"Scarlet!" Alex got up, afraid for his companion. He trusted Luciel, but not when he was in the state he currently was.

"Don’t worry, he won’t kill her." Nosferatu put his hand in front of Alex, not allowing him to get any closer.

Luciel closed his eyes as he kept on drinking. His mouth were full of this sweet flavor as a thick, refreshing liquid went down his throat.

After finally extinguishing the thirst a little, Luciel refused to stop and activity started to absorb her Qi as well, wanting to replenish that which was lost. Not only did he want to do it, his instincts were telling him the same.

Scarlet’s heartbeat started to slow down, signlalizing that it was enough, but before letting go, Luciel decided to push her limits, deciding to take just a little bit more before releasing her.

"Sorry," He apologized, standing up and whipping off the blood from his lower lip with the back of his hand before licking it off.

Luciel glanced into Scarlet’s amber eyes, but he didn’t feel any regret or shame for his actions. It was just something that had to be done.

This was the first time Alex saw Luciel feed on someone’s else except him. It was a reminder to him of what Luciel really was. Since he was acting like everything was normal ever since they met again, he had completely forgotten. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

’He’s just the same as the rest of them...’ Scarlet thought in disquist. Even if he apologized, she couldn’t see even a tiny amount of regret in his eyes.

Scarlet was fighting to stay awake, but eventually, her vision turned black as she finally closed her eyes.

"Told you he won’t kill her."

The moment Nosferatu lowered his arm, Alex rushed and kneeled down next to Scarlet, placing four fingers on the other side of the neck where Luciel hadn’t bite her.

He let out a sigh of relief after confirming her heartbeat and seeing her chest raise up and down.

Alex stared into his friend who seemed to be staring at one spot. He wanted to blame him, but couldn’t. Besides, he felt slightly responsible for this as well. He was encouraging Luciel to feed, taking his situation lightheartadly, but now he saw into what he had been prompting him to become.

Luciel ignored Alex as he observed the screen in front of him. He could remember everything, before and after the amnesia.

He stared at the numbers, but didn’t care to check the rest of his stats.

After what he had went through, he felt like falling to his knees, but doing so would lead to no where. All he wanted was to see his Helen...

"It’s going to be six pm," Nosferatu estimated, being guided by his inner clock.

"I see... Alex, can you drive?" Luciel asked, sounding in a hurry. It’s late autumn and the days are shorter.

"Yes, I can," Alex replied, being glad that they are finally going to leave this place.

"What’s the rush? You just came here," Nosferatu brought his hands together, he wanted to keep Luciel a little bit more.

He could tell Luciel’s affinity and while it wasn’t unique completely to him, it was very powerful if mastered.

Luciel turned slightly to look at Nosferatu, acknowledging his desire.

He slowly made a fist and grabbed it with his palm, putting it in front of his chest as he bowed slightly, "I apologize, but we are in a rush. We are supposed to go on one more mission. It would be best for my friends to rest a little bit in the shelter before going."

"Hm... I see," Nosferatu touched his chin. Listening to Luciel’s heartbeat, he could tell that he wasn’t telling him everything.

"Very well, I’ll bring Melisa with Kai and will escort you to your vehicle then," he compiled with Luciel’s request. He got everything he wanted and there was no need to force Luciel to stay here. It would just further ruin their relationship.
