The Crimson Reaper-Chapter 91: Dual Blood Cultivation
"You want me to do what?!!" Luciel shouted in fury, his cheeks turning pink at Nosferatu’s suggestion to get stronger.
In the meantime, Alex was snickering behind his friend, finding the situation amusing while being glad that he wasn’t the one who needed to do this.
"You want me to have sex with another vampire?!!" He shouted, not being able to be more direct than he already was.
No matter what Nosferatu called it, Dual Blood Cultivation or whatever, he couldn’t hide the real meaning behind it.
"There is no shame in it, some vampires even have multiple mates," Nosferatu presented the option like it was the most normal thing in the world, for a vampire that is.
"Told you he won’t like the idea," Melisa facepalmed, rolling with her eyes, but truth to be told, she and Kai also didn’t relax in participating in Dual Blood Cultivation nor were they interested in finding a romantic interest.
Everything that Nosferatu had said was true, except that while vampires had multiple multiple mates, they only truly stayed loyal to one.
"What? It’s an instinct! Luciel, you can’t tell me you never felt like bitting your wife!"
Luciel flinched at Nosferatu’s comment. It was true, he felt like bitting Helen multiple times already and there was also a desire for her to bite him back. He also had a moment of weakness like that after watching a female vampire fight and having Lady Seline trying to seduce him the first time they met. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"Thought so," Nosferatu said quietly, having a smile of amusement, he didn’t even have to go and explain the Dual Blood Cultivation in detail, it was just something that vampires knew how to do.
"Let me just tell you a final warning, a vampire’s lust can be just as strong as their thirst."
Luciel could hear Alex laughing hysterically behind him, not giving him a break.
"Looks like Helen is going to have her own share of trouble with you," Alex made a small break to catch his breath before starting to laugh again.
"Will you stop already!" Luciel yelled after seeing how Alex didn’t show any signs of calming down.
Having enough of this, Luciel let out a short hiss before pushing Scarlet into Alex’s hands and letting go of her.
"Hey!" Alex raised his voice, he barely managed to catch her in time, she would have fallen onto the ground.
He had more to say to Luciel, but he had already disappeared into the trees, away from this circus.
"Adorable," Nosferatu commented, tracking Luciel with his sharp eyesight.
After Luciel had left, Alex didn’t feel as comfortable as before. His courage had left him after he was forced to travel alone next to someone who was probably one of the most powerful vampires alive, but he did seem talkative.
"So... Nosferatu, right?" Alex started, smiling anxiously, "You seem pretty knowledgeable and all so... I’ve been wondering, what do you know about the human side of cultivation?"
He asked, wanting to see just how far his knowledge was stretching. Alex was never talented in cultivation, that’s why his colony had cast him out, but maybe there were other techniques that would be more suitable for him.
"Honestly, not much, even if vampires developed Blood Cultivation by observing humans." He replied. It was so long ago that he had forgotten already.
"But I do know two things," Nosferatu added after seeing Alex’s long face, "humans gather their Qi by absorbing them from the environment. In old times, they would choose to cultivate in a place where they could connect with their element."
"And how do you discover your element?" Alex quickly asked, not giving any room for Nosferatu to finish everything that he had to say.
"That I do not know. Vampires usually discover it through meditations, visions, emotional or critical moments, but as you had heard already, we absorb Qi through blood."
"I see..." Alex sighed, not even bothering to ask what was the second thing Nosferatu had to say. It probably wasn’t useful as well.
They continued to walk with Luciel following them behind, still refusing to come down until they had finally reached the river that served as a bored, splitting the two worlds apart.
Seeing how they had arrived, Luciel finally decided to jump down to regroup.
"This is it then," Nosferatu started, handing Kai to Melisa who didn’t seem like she had any problems with holding him.
"Thank you for escorting us," Alex was being glad that they didn’t need to go back alone through the forest, it felt safer having Nosferatu by their side.
Luciel decided to stay quiet as he crossed his arms and looked away, while he did have something to be grateful, it didn’t feel like he should be thanking him.
He almost lost his life and Nosferatu never warned him about the consequences. That and let’s not mention the whole blood bond fiasco, at least he wasn’t using him as a puppet, yet.
"All right, then I’ll be going," Nosferatu frowned after he didn’t get any recognition from Luciel, a vampire who he was trying to raise.
"Keep an eye on them, all right," Nosferatu kneeled down in front of Melisa and petted her. He saw her as his own child.
"Yeah, of course!" Melisa smiled at Nosferatu, wanting to hug him, but that wasn’t an option right now.
"Stay safe!" And with the final wave of his hand, earth opened beneath Nosferatu’s feet and he disappeared without a trace, just like that.
’What a weird guy...’ Luciel and Alex thought in union, starting at the spot where Nosferatu used to be.
"All right, let’s load them up!" Alex raised his voice, laying down the red haired vampire hunter onto the passenger seats.
Melisa approached the car, but then she suddenly stopped, hesitating for a moment.
"Hey, Luciel, are you sure that Kai will be all right?" She asked, feeling skeptical about all of this.
"Hm... Good question..." He puckered his lips. He didn’t have to be Nosferatu to see that he was weak with only one glance.
Carrying him all the way to the shelter was an option if only the colony wasn’t being overrun by zombies.
"We should maybe put Scarlet in the trunk and Kai at the back seats," Luciel suggested, it was an only way they could track Kai’s condition.
"Oh, and you should ride with Alex, you are the one that knows Kai the best and will recognize that something is wrong faster than me," He added, not wanting to be the one to drive in that car.
"Fine," Melisa rolled with her eyes, not wanting to do this, but it was her brother after all, it was only right she would take care of him.
"Switch them up!" Luciel ordered, waiting for Alex to remove Scarlet so they could put Kai on her place.
"You should do it if you think it’s so easy," Alex muttered under his breath, opening the trunk and placing her inside.
"It is easy, but I’m the one that’s going to get killed after she wakes up," Luciel shivered at the thought, not being ready to face her wrath.
Luciel observed Kai’s pale face as Melisa was placing him down. He was covered in sweat with a frown on his place. Even while deep in slumber, it seemed like he was still under a lot of pain as black veins creeped under his shirt collar.
Each shallow breath of this was signalizing a race against the clock.
"At least you don’t have to ride in this death car," Melisa said to herself, waiting for Alex to get in so they could finally head back.
