The sudden turn of events gave many people a fright, and the Colosseum burst into an uproar. No one had ever seen anything like that happen before. However, there were some with keen eyes who were able to identify the two people who had entered the battle cage.

“That woman in white is the young mistress of the An family!”

“That’s right, it’s An Ruyi! The one with her is the leader of the An family guard squad, An Ping!”

“What are they doing?”

All of the spectators came to their senses upon hearing that, but none of them could figure out what was going on either. Why were the young mistress and the guardian squad leader of the An family invading the battle cage? What was their motive?

Everyone was staring intently at the battle cage, wondering what was going to happen next.

An Ruyi smoothed down some stray strands of hair after descending onto the ground, and a sly smile appeared on her face. At the same time, An Ping positioned himself directly in front of the Nameless Warrior, preventing him from leaving the battle cage.

An Ping announced, “Brother, our young mistress would like to speak with you.”

An Ruyi appraised the Nameless Warrior with a smile as he turned to face her.

“What do you need from me, young mistress?”

The Nameless Warrior asked.

However, An Ruyi didn’t say anything. Instead, she furrowed her brows slightly and surreptitiously squeezed her eyes at An Ping. That was a secret signal she had devised in advance, and it issued a command to An Ping to take off the Nameless Warrior’s mask when he was distracted. She was determined to see what he looked like under that mask.

Even though An Ping was still firmly against the idea, An Ruyi’s curiosity simply wouldn’t die, and she finally dug up some information on An Ping that she could use as leverage to blackmail him with. As such, he was forced to do her bidding. As the worst-case scenario that could arise, it would be to offend the Nameless Warrior with her actions. In any case, nothing serious would happen and no one could do anything to her anyway.

Even so, she was still feeling a little nervous. After all, she didn’t know what the Nameless Warrior could look like, and she turned to An Ping, almost for moral support more than anything else. An Ping also seemed to be quite tense, and he had readied himself, but still hadn’t sprung into action.

All of a sudden.

“Look out!”

An Ruyi’s heart jolted with shock. At the same time, the Nameless Warrior’s body transformed into a black shadow and disappeared!

Boom!

A resounding boom erupted, and before An Ruyi had even reacted to what had happened, a heatwave rushed into her and she was hurled flying by a powerful force.

“Young mistress!”

An Ping sprang up and caught An Ruyi as she was flung into the air. As she fell, An Ruyi glanced down out of the corner of her eye to find that the Fire Kirin Beast had stood up, and there was black smoke wafting from its mouth, indicating that it had just blasted a ball of fire. In front of it stood the Nameless Warrior, who had his left arm outstretched. As An Ruyi’s eyes settled on that left arm, she was absolutely aghast!

Half of the Nameless Warrior’s sleeve had been burned away along with his black glove, revealing an inky-black hand and forearm. An Ruyi’s eyes widened as her heart tremored. Did the Nameless Warrior just block the Fire Kirin Beast’s attack with his left hand to save her? And his entire left arm had been charred black as a result!

The spectator stands also erupted into a frenzy. Everyone was reeling from the scenes unfolding before their eyes. First, the young mistress and guard squad leader of the An family had descended into the battle cage from nowhere; then, the Fire Kirin Beast—who had been knocked out—suddenly stood up and attacked An Ruyi! However, in that dire situation, the Nameless Warrior managed to vanquish the beast’s attack with his bare hand to save her!

That was an attack from a Yellow Tier Sixth Rank beast with the bloodline of a Holy Beast running in its veins… Just how unfathomably powerful would the Nameless Warrior have to be to block it with his hand?

However, after his sleeve was burned away, everyone could see that his entire arm had been charred black, so he had clearly sustained severe injuries as well.

Whoosh whoosh!

Several black-robed figures descended from the sky.

They were the black-robed guards of the Colosseum, and they subdued the Fire Kirin Beast in the blink of an eye, before locking it back in its cage.

An Ping placed An Ruyi onto the ground on her two feet, and she covered her mouth as she made her way toward the Nameless Warrior and said in a trembling voice. “Your hand…”

The Nameless Warrior didn’t say anything. He didn’t even take notice of An Ruyi as he left the battle cage.

An Ruyi was rooted to the spot as she stared blankly at his departing figure. The image of that black hand was etched deep into her mind, and many complex emotions were running through her heart. She was only trying to satisfy her curiosity, but she had caused the Nameless Warrior to hurt himself as a result. Those burns looked very nasty, and even if they could be treated, they would be sure to leave scars. She had been saved once again by the Nameless Warrior…

Meanwhile, there was another pair of eyes that were fixed intently on the scenes unfolding in the battle cage, and those eyes were burning with fury!

“The Nameless Warrior… is Qi Ying?!”

Clip clop clip clop!

Duan Huangye wore a thunderous expression as he rode on horseback toward the Duan family mansion.

He had seen everything that had taken place in the Colosseum, but he had arrived at a different conclusion compared to everyone else. All of the spectators were of the belief that the Nameless Warrior’s hand had been charred black, but Duan Huangye knew better than that. Even though the arm was indeed black and had been scorched by the fireball, no smoke had risen from it. Furthermore, the joints on that hand were very pronounced, and the nails were very sharp… He could clearly remember where he had seen a hand like that before.

It was simply too difficult not to make the recollection.

That was Qi Ying’s left hand.

The Nameless Warrior was none other than Qi Ying.

In that instant, everything suddenly made sense. Qi Ying was definitely not just some simple underprivileged disciple. Instead, he was the Nameless Warrior, a man who could defeat a Yellow Tier Seventh Rank beast with his bare hands. Lu Feifei was a shareholder in the Colosseum, while Yan Thirteen was the boss… Even though there were still some matters that still couldn’t be explained; like why Qi Ying had come to the Celestial River Academy, and what his true power level was… He could at least ascertain that the deaths of his son, Duan Tianshan, and all of the other Celestial River Academy disciples were related to Qi Ying. As such, Qi Ying had to be harboring a shocking secret!

He had to inform the family leader of all that, so they could take measures against Yan Thirteen, and investigate Qi Ying. On top of that, he also had to make the mayor aware of those matters; they had to find out the truth!

Duan Huangye was full of resentment toward the person who had killed his sons. He could almost be certain that the culprit was Qi Ying after making those connections, but he still repressed his emotions back at the Colosseum, in order to prevent anyone from noticing that something was amiss.

His horse galloped onward, and he was just over a kilometer away from the Duan mansion. He was going to tell the family leader everything. In the distance, he could even make out the lanterns hanging from the walls around the mansion.

All of a sudden, Duan Huangye felt something cold flash past his neck. He instinctively reached toward his neck and his fingers came into contact with a warm, viscous substance…

Splat!

Blood splattered through the air as Duan Huangye’s head detached itself from his body, and rolled onto the ground. His eyes were still wide open, and an expression of indignation and hatred was still etched on his face…

The horse continued to gallop along the street. A white-robed figure emerged calmly from a nearby alley. He carried a jade wine flagon and there was a peculiar smile on his face.
