The Delinquent Shimizu-san Sitting Next to Me Has Dyed Her Hair Black-Chapter 1Volume 3 .2 - Shimizu-san and the Training Camp Plan
Shimizu-san and the Training Camp Plan 2
“I get that you want to go to the camp, but we can’t do anything without travel funds.”
“Ugh, the harsh reality stands in my way!”
Ai-san looked frustrated.
I thought about it again. Did I want to go to the training camp with everyone from the Astronomy Club?
The answer was clear.
“That, can I say something?”
“What is it, Daiki-kun?”
“I also want to go to the camp with everyone. Please let me help you.”
“Oh!? That’s great to hear!”
“What do you mean by help, exactly?”
“I was thinking of maybe getting a part-time job until summer vacation.”
Since I have more free time than Ai-san or Yousuke-san, it should be easier for me to take on a part-time job.
“Daiki-kun, are you sure about this?”
“Yes, I want to create more memories with everyone from the Astronomy Club.”
“Thank you, Daiki-kun… Alright, this should solve the problem with the travel expenses…”
“Not yet.”
“What is it, Kei-san? Could it be jealousy?”
“Wrong. Say it again and I’ll knock you out.”
Shimizu-san clenched her fist.
Ai-san moved slightly away from Shimizu-san.
“Then what do you think the problem is?”
“The thing is, Hondō can’t work part-time that much either.”
“True, since Hondō-kun is a student, I don’t think he can just focus on part-time jobs…”
“That’s not what I’m talking about. Hondō is the one who prepares dinner on weekdays. So he shouldn’t be able to work long hours during the week.”
“Now that you mention it, he did say something like that before.”
It’s true that I prepare dinner on weekdays because my parents are busy with work.
However, I didn’t expect Shimizu-san to remember that.
“Plus, Teruno will feel lonely if Hondō’s return home is always late because of work.”
“Ah…”
That was a blind spot. Why hadn’t I realized it?
It’s one thing for dinner to be late, but I want to avoid making Teruno feel anxious.
“That’s why Hondō can’t take that much time for part-time work. Right, Hondō?”
“…that’s true.”
“Daiki-kun…”
“Ai-san, I’m sorry. I said I would help, but…”
“No-no, there’s no need for you to apologize, Daiki-kun. I’m happy that you wanted to help. By the way Kei, you really understand Daiki-kun well, huh?”
Ai-san looked at Shimizu-san and smirked.
“Anyone would understand if they listened to Hondō!”
“Really? At least I didn’t notice. What do you think about it, Daiki-kun?”
“Yes? Uh, Shimizu-san has really thought about me and Teruno, so I think that’s really kind of her.”
“What?!”
Shimizu-san’s face quickly turned red.
“Kei-san, who has been called kind by Daiki-kun, your thoughts?”
“I wasn’t trying to be kind! I just thought it would be a hassle if Teruno went off the rails again!”
“Not very honest, are you?”
“Shut up! So, what are we going to do about the travel expenses in the end?”
“Your blatant attempt to change the subject is cute.”
“But indeed, as Kei says, we do need to figure out what to do about the travel expenses.”
“That’s… true.”
The clubroom was enveloped in silence.
“I’ll help too.”
“Mio-chan?”
The one who broke the silence was Seto-san.
“I want to create memories with Senpai during the summer break too. So, I’ll work hard at part-time jobs as well.”
“Mio-chan!”
“If I work part-time, we should be able to solve the issue with the travel expenses.”
“But you have your library committee duties, right?”
“That’s true. But I only have library duty after school at most once a week. So I think I can secure enough time for part-time work.”
“Mmm…”
Shimizu-san seemed frustrated for some reason.
I racked my brain again. Is there anything I could do to help?
“I might have difficulties on weekdays, but I think I can work part-time on weekends.”
“That would help, but are you sure it’s okay, Daiki-kun?”
“Yes, my parents will be home on weekends. I’ll make sure not to take on too many shifts so Teruno won’t feel lonely.”
“If the four of us work part-time until the summer vacation, we should definitely be able to save up enough for the trip! Thanks to my kouhai-chan, I can see hope now!”

Naturally, everyone’s gaze fell on Shimizu-san.
“Ha, I’m not working part-time, and I’m not going on the training camp either!”
“Just stop being so stubborn. It’s okay to say that you want to go to the camp with everyone.”
“Like I would say that!”
Shimizu-san’s voice echoed throughout the clubroom.
“Mmm, I guess it’s time for my secret weapon.”
For some reason, Ai-san approached me.
“Daiki-kun, could you lend me your ear?”
“O-Okay.”
I did as told and leaned my ear towards Ai-san.
“Go over to Kei’s side and tell her, ‘Shimizu-san, let’s go to the training camp together,’ please?”
“Uh? Alright…”
I wondered why I needed to move next to Shimizu-san, but I stood up and followed the instructions.
Ai-san, followed right behind me for some reason.
“Now, it seems Daiki-kun has something he wants to say to Kei. Go ahead!”
With that voice, I felt a push on my back.
It seems Ai-san had pushed me. Reflexively, I stretched out my hands to grab something to prevent myself from falling.
“H-Hondō…”
I turned towards the voice.
I was surprised because Shimizu-san’s face was closer than I had expected.
My hands had grabbed Shimizu-san’s shoulders.
“Sorry, Shimizu-san.”
“Daiki-kun! Now’s your chance! Go for it!”
I didn’t really understand what was happening, but it seemed that I needed to convey the message I had heard from Ai-san to Shimizu-san.
“Shimizu-san.”
“What is it?”
“Let’s go to the training camp together. I think it will be fun.”
“I won’t be fooled! Ai told you to say that!”
Shimizu-san’s gaze shifted to Ai-san standing behind me.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“Hey, your eyes are darting all over the place.”
It was obvious to anyone that Ai-san was flustered.
This misunderstanding needed to be cleared up quickly.
I let go of Shimizu-san’s shoulders and looked straight into her eyes.
“Listen to me, Shimizu-san.”
“What is it now?”
Shimizu-san seemed even more wary of me than before.
“It’s true that Ai-san asked me to say ‘let’s go to the training camp together’ to you, Shimizu-san.”
“…I knew it.”
Shimizu-san muttered, her expression seeming somewhat sad to my eyes.
“Listen, Shimizu-san. I don’t know if you’ll believe me, but I really do want to go to the training camp with you.”
I looked straight into Shimizu-san’s eyes once more.
“Why would you want to go with me? Can’t you go to the training camp with everyone else?”
“That might be true, but I’d also feel lonely without you, Shimizu-san. I think the camp would be so much more fun if you were there.”
“You…”
It might have been my imagination, but it seemed like Shimizu-san’s face grew a little redder.
“As expected, Daiki-kun always knows what to say! I also think that the camp is fun because we all go together. Kei, you’re starting to feel like going, right?”
“I’m not feeling like it yet!”
“Shimizu-san…”
“Stop it, Hondō. Don’t look at me with those eyes!”
“Good, it’s working, Daiki-kun! Keep chipping away at Kei’s mental defenses with those eyes!”
I wondered how I appeared to Shimizu-san and Ai-san right now…
“Outnumbered and overwhelmed. So just give up and agree to come to the camp with us.”
Seto-san chimed in. It seems Seto-san also wants to go to the camp with Shimizu-san.
“Come on, Kei, let’s go to the camp with everyone? It’ll surely be a lot of fun!”
Our gazes met again, and I nodded slowly at her.
“…If you insist that much, I guess I have no choice but to go along.”
Shimizu-san said while turning her face away from Ai-san behind me.
Seeing this, Ai-san rushed over to where Shimizu-san was sitting and hugged her.
