Chapter 77: Reborn... To Be A Thief?

Since they were heading to the company, Su Mo had asked Leng Shuang to change into a black office suit. The crisp suit fit her perfectly, giving her the appearance of a capable and elegant personal secretary rather than the cold assassin she truly was.

When they arrived at the parking area of the villa, Leng Shuang glanced around at the neat rows of luxury vehicles—sports cars, executive sedans, and limited-edition models lined up like an exhibition.

"Master, which one is your car?" she asked.

Su Mo casually glanced over the collection.

"None of them," he said lightly. "Just pick one that’s low-key and comfortable."

Miss Yang had already told him he could use anything in the villa freely. Since that was the case, there was no reason to be polite about it.

Leng Shuang nodded and walked over to a sleek black Porsche parked near the corner. It looked expensive, but compared to some of the flashy sports cars around it, it was relatively restrained.

Soon, they were seated inside the car.

As Leng Shuang started the engine, Su Mo took out his phone and dialled a number.

The call connected quickly.

["Good morning, Mr Su."]

Lin Yaorui’s calm and professional voice came from the other end.

"Morning, Secretary Lin," Su Mo replied. "I’m on my way to the company now. Should I pick you up from the office?"

There was a brief pause before she answered.

["Mr Su, actually... there’s a small problem with my car’s tyres. Would it be alright if you picked me up from my community instead? It’s on the way to Ankang Biotech."]

"No problem," Su Mo said easily. "Send me the address. I’ll be there soon."

["Thank you, Mr Su."]

The call ended.

Su Mo leaned back in his seat while Leng Shuang smoothly drove out of the villa grounds.

After a moment, he spoke again.

"When we get to the company, work together with Secretary Lin and bring the company’s operations under control."

"Yes, Master," Leng Shuang replied calmly.

Then, as if remembering something, she added, "While I was investigating Wang Cai, I discovered something related to the company’s CEO."

Su Mo raised an eyebrow.

"Oh? What did you find?"

"His younger brother seems to be involved with a notorious gang in this city," she said. "I hadn’t looked into the deeper details yet."

"That’s enough," Su Mo chuckled softly. "We’ll get our answers from our CEO friend soon."

The car continued down the road.

A few minutes later, as they approached the community where Lin Yaorui lived, Su Mo suddenly narrowed his eyes.

"Stop the car."

Leng Shuang immediately pulled the Porsche to the roadside.

"What’s wrong, Master?"

Su Mo stared through the window, his gaze fixed on the sidewalk ahead.

"I just saw an acquaintance."

"A friend?" Leng Shuang asked.

"Not exactly." Su Mo thought for a moment. "More like... an enemy."

Leng Shuang’s eyes sharpened.

"Should I deal with him?"

Su Mo’s lips twitched slightly.

"No need. Simply disgusting him is enough."

Her enthusiasm toward work was admirable, but sometimes she was a little too eager.

Su Mo kept watching the figure ahead.

It was Lin Fan.

Even with a mask and a baseball cap covering most of his face, Su Mo recognised him immediately because of the familiar aura he sensed.

But what really caught Su Mo’s attention was where Lin Fan’s eyes were focused.

They were fixed on an elderly woman walking a short distance ahead of him.

More precisely, it was on the purse hanging from her arm by the waist.

Su Mo blinked.

"...Seriously?"

The situation looked absurd.

’Don’t tell me his story is called Reborn to Be a Thief?’

He couldn’t help but feel amused.

’Whatever he plans to do... how could I let it succeed?’

Without moving a muscle, Su Mo quietly activated his Magnetic Control Technique.

The metal clasp on the woman’s purse suddenly stuck tightly to the metal buckle on her belt.

"Leng Shuang..."

"Yes, Master?"

"Go help that old lady. Remember to be kind and righteous."

"I understand." Leng Shuang replied readily.

---

Up ahead, Lin Fan had been trailing the old woman for quite a while.

He had already calculated everything.

The street here wasn’t too crowded, but there were still enough people around that if he acted cleanly, no one would notice.

He waited.

Finally, an opportunity appeared.

A car drove past the old woman, momentarily distracting her.

Lin Fan immediately lunged forward and grabbed the purse.

But the moment he pulled—

’What the—?!’

The purse didn’t come off.

Instead, the woman’s entire belt was yanked along with it.

Startled, the old woman instinctively pulled back.

"Ah! Someone help!"

Lin Fan panicked.

He pulled harder.

The metal clasp refused to separate, and the tug-of-war between them became increasingly awkward.

Because of his urgency, his movements grew rougher.

The woman’s belt suddenly came loose, and her trousers were tugged downward.

"Ahhh! Help! Somebody, please help!"

Right at that moment—

"Let go of her, you pervert!"

A sharp voice rang out.

Leng Shuang appeared out of nowhere and kicked Lin Fan squarely in the face. He was sent staggering backwards.

Leng Shuang immediately helped the old woman steady herself and quickly fixed her loosened clothing.

"Are you alright?"

The old woman was trembling.

"Oh, girl... thank you so much," she said, almost crying in fear. "That thief... he not only tried to steal my bag, he even molested me."

Leng Shuang patted her shoulder reassuringly.

"Don’t worry. I’m here now. He won’t hurt you again."

Then she walked toward Lin Fan, who was groaning on the ground.

Her expression turned cold.

"Don’t you have any shame?" she said sternly. "Snatching an old lady’s bag and even molesting her."

She grabbed his collar.

"Let’s see who you are."

Lin Fan’s heart skipped a beat.

He tried to struggle, but under Leng Shuang’s strength, he couldn’t move at all.

His mask was pulled off.

"So it’s you!" the old woman suddenly exclaimed.

"You know him?" Leng Shuang asked.

"Yes... I saw him earlier near the bus stop," the old woman said angrily. "About fifteen minutes ago, he tried to buy my daughter’s hairpin. Because his offer made me feel strange, I refused."
