The Devil Doctor's Spicy Love-Chapter 397: The deal between them
Yong knocked on the door. After a long moment, a voice was heard, "Come in."
She stepped in and bowed. "Sir."
The man was standing near a table pouring himself a glass of wine. With a slightly limp leg, he walked and sat on the chair. The other side of the room was completely dark and void of any sounds.
"How far do you think the cops are?"
"Nowhere, Sir. Though they managed to raid the charity banquet, they were unable to get any clues that would aid them in finding anything about us."
"It was very frustrating, you know?"
Yong watched him twirl the glass in his hands.
"I had to go underground because of that nasty raid. Put my head down for a while. Do you know how humiliating that is?" He slightly rubbed the back of his neck.
"Indeed."
"I had to pause the gatherings. So many lost people couldn’t get enlightenment for a long time. Only because of that cop and that...doctor."
"A pity," she whispered.
A second knock was then heard. Yong immediately let in the new guest, who was seemingly accompanied by her assistant.
The guest stood before the man and smiled. "Has your injury healed?"
"What do you see?"
"I see that it has made you very grumpy."
Yong cast a glance at the guest and the woman accompanying her.
I had seen her in the gathering, she slightly squinted her eyes.
"Come to the point, Miss. Xie," his eyes narrowed.
Mulan took her seat across him and poured herself a glass. She sighed. "It’s been very difficult these days."
He sneered. "Oh really? I don’t see you struggling so much. Isn’t the popularity of your game only increasing ever so much?"
"Indeed but I’m not getting enough data. There are just so many algorithms to build and so much research to be done. But alas...things like these require a lot of money, you know?"
He sneered. "Like always, you came here with a begging bowl. Though I’m hesitating to tear a check for you this time. You promised your game would spread the word of my esteemed gathering but I don’t see an increase in my followers."
"Trust me, they are. It’s the level of She where players get the most excited," she raised her brow. "I should thank you instead. Your twisted beliefs are causing some good traction for my game."
"You dare comment about my twisted beliefs? Your poor customers don’t even know their mental juices being sucked playing your deadly game."
Yong noticed a faint flicker in the assistant’s eyes at that moment.
"Who then get brainwashed into following your deadly gathering all thanks to me. That was our deal," she rolled her eyes. "How many parents have ruined their innocent daughter’s lives by falling for your ploy?"
"Enlightenment," his eyes narrowed.
"Oops sorry~ Enlightenment."
"Your money shall wait."
Her eyes squinted this time. "Why?"
"I’m yet to be paid for my services so I’m in a sort of crunch myself."
"Why not?"
"Ask the wretched Huo family yourself," his gaze soured.
"Such a rich family will delay your payment?" Her head tilted.
"Apparently, their son is getting engaged to that actress...what was her name? Anyway, who cares about that? They are completely focusing their energy on that. Yet I’m expected to continue with their youngest son’s treatment."
He clicked his tongue.
"That yongest son, that Hou Jielun, is another pain in the ass! It was easier in Long Sicong’s era to get him women. But ever since the new leader came in, it’s been nothing but a struggle."
Yong remained expressionless.
"Why are you spending your energy to get him bedmates anyway?" She raised her brow. "You are his doctor, not some dealer."
His fingers tapped impatiently against the chair’s armrest. "It’s part of his treatment. If he doesn’t get women, he gets crazy. Drugs help but not for too long."
"Which kind of a treatment needs whores?"
Yong still remained expressionless but her nails were beginning to pierce in her palm.
"A man who has trouble getting it up," he scoffed. "He’s a complete mental case."
"There’s no treatment for erectile dysfunction?"
"There are some ways though they aren’t permanent solutions. The main problem is his drug and smoking abuse which he doesn’t want to get rid off despite repeated warnings. He wants to keep his lifestyle in tact, yet somehow magically expects his problem to be solved without taking the effort."
"And women are the solution?" She raised her brow.
"What else to do? He has a lot of pent up stress and the need to do sex. He has become a sex addict. But he is unable to get an erection so that doubles down on his stress. He feels he needs to prove that he can perform. His ego and desires are wrecking his mind. So I’m just doing some nominal treatments to keep him sane. The other thing that keep him sane are women. He will go crazy if he doesn’t get them."
He took a sip. "Alas, lately he doesn’t feel satisfied with the kind of women I bring him. He says he loved Huayuan women more. They had a spark to them. Especially that one woman he didn’t get to have sex with all those years ago."
"Hoooo..."
"He still keeps on and on about her," he scoffed. "Such a pain..."
"Huh. What kind of a woman was she?"
"I don’t know. He just keeps muttering ’Nuwa, Nuwa’," he shrugged.
Yong held in her breath. She had never imagined that she would get to hear her sister’s name after so long.
"So bring her to him. Wouldn’t he be in heaven and you will get a hefty chunk of payment, which you can then use to finance me?" She smiled playfully.
"Bring her?" He snorted. "If it was so easy, then wouldn’t his parents had already found her for him? But she just disappeared."
"So she is dead."
"Her body was never found. So yeah, she can be dead if she ended up drowning in some river or fall off a cliff. But equally, she can be alive. It’s an open question."
"Where can she hide for so long from the eyes of the Huo family if she was alive? She is just a lone woman with no money and resources."
The man leaned back against the chair.
"True. But I feel...I have this strong feeling that she is alive somewhere. And my instincts are hardly ever wrong," The light in his eyes changed. "I have honed that instinct from the best person out there."
Yong stared at his dark figure.
Alive...Aunt Nuwa is alive...?
