Chapter 774: Sierra’s Desperate Words

Along with Snowflake, Oriana and the three dragons teleported straight back to Agartha from the Demon Realm. Since Snowflake could teleport through different realms, they didn’t have to wait for the star constellation to align and then use their powers to break through the boundaries between realms.

All of them appeared in the garden of Draven’s palace, only to be shocked by the scene before them. The palace—the once beautiful place they had left behind—was no longer the same. The grand building was severely damaged, and the garden lay in ruins, bearing the aftermath of immense destruction and unmistakable traces of a powerful force.

Someone had used divine power here—a power so strong that no supernatural being in the mortal world could possibly possess it.

"What happened here?" Oriana mumbled, her voice filled with disbelief. Draven and Drayce’s expressions darkened.

Draven’s gaze shifted toward the palace. "Ember."

Drayce closed his eyes, focusing intently. "I can’t sense Seren’s presence."

With those words, both dragons disappeared in a flash, their panic evident. Drayce had gone through check in their cottage Erebus had built at the hillside, while Draven entered the palace to check in Ember’s bedchamber.

"What’s going on?" Oriana repeated, her voice trembling with worry as she turned to Arlan, who shared the same grim expression. "Seren and Ember are in danger."

"What?" Oriana exclaimed, her eyes scanning the chaotic surroundings. "Where has everyone gone? Not even a single servant is around."

"Stay here," Arlan said firmly before disappearing as well.

Left alone, Oriana couldn’t suppress her growing unease. Unable to stay still, she decided to search the palace herself, but every hallway and chamber she checked was eerily empty—there wasn’t a trace of anyone.

After what felt like an eternity, the three dragons returned to the palace simultaneously.

"Seren is nowhere to be found," Drayce spoke, and Draven echoed the same. "Neither is Ember."

"There was an attack on the entire kingdom," Arlan said. "Someone powerful has been here. Both the witch and beast clans have suffered from the attack as well."

Though anger simmered in Draven and Drayce, and the dragons within them were restless at the disappearance of their mates, they forced themselves to remain calm.

"You all are finally back," a woman’s voice broke through the tension. Cornelia appeared before them, her face pale, her body bearing visible wounds, and exhaustion weighing heavily on her.

"Cornelia, what happened here?" Draven asked urgently. "Where are Ember and the others?"

Seeing Cornelia but not his mother, Drayce’s voice wavered as he asked, "Where’s my mother?"

With helplessness and pain etched across her face, Cornelia replied, "The angels from the Heaven Realm appeared here all of a sudden and took away Ember, Seren, and Sierra."

Draven and Drayce clenched their fists tightly, their entire beings trembling with rage. Their mates—taken?

"You have to calm down," Cornelia said firmly. "None of us know what to do right now. Please, stay calm. We need to find a way to bring them back."

Cornelia’s words seemed to pierce through their rising fury, bringing both Draven and Drayce back to their senses. If their enemies had been from the mortal realm, they would have already launched an all-out attack, but this was different. The opponents were far more powerful, and reckless actions could put their loved ones in even greater danger.

"My mother?" Drayce asked again, his voice quieter this time.

"Her Eminence, along with Morpheus and Aureus, are severely injured and are being treated in the witch clan,"Cornelia replied, her eyes moist with emotions.

Drayce had fought against them and even together with his mother, it was impossible for him to defeat them. If not for Seren’s hellfire waking up, that day it would have been impossible for them to win against the angels. He was sure with the hellfire inside, Seren would be fine, but now he felt worried about his mother.

Without wasting any more time, they all made their way to the witch clan, where Evanthe was being treated in the healing chamber alongside Morpheus and Aureus.

First, they headed to Evanthe’s chamber. Drayce could not wait to see his mother.

On the small bed, the most powerful witch lay unconscious. Her body bore wounds inflicted by divine power, which had affected her soul and energy core. Drayce knelt on the floor and held his mother’s hand. The moment he touched her, he could feel she was weak, but her energy core remained stable, a proof of how powerful his mother was despite being reduced to a mere earthly supernatural from once being a deity herself.

Even in her unconscious state, she held onto Drayce’s hand and mumbled something. Drayce couldn’t understand what she was trying to say and leaned closer, his ear near her trembling lips.

"Dr...ay..v..."

Drayce could hear her saying Dray, but it wasn’t his name. She always called him simply Dray, but there was something after it—something he couldn’t quite hear, or perhaps his mother couldn’t manage to say.

Who is she calling for help? Drayce wondered, his expression conflicted. He gently caressed her head, and she fell silent. In the most desperate situations, a person would only call for the one they believe holds the power to help, the one they knew they could rely on entirely like their protector.

Drayce could guess she was calling for someone whose name he still did not know—someone known only to him as the Devil.

Another question troubled him. His mother was a deity just like Sierra, then why didn’t take her with them as well. What was the reason? Were they scared of Evanthe’s return to the heaven realm or something else was there.

-----

Satisfied that Evanthe was stable, Draven left to check on Morpheus. The moment he had arrived in the witch clan, the bond he shared with Morpheus through Ember had faintly told him that he was hurt.

In one room, Morpheus and Aureus lay unconscious on two small beds. Their bare bodies displayed grave injuries sustained in battle. Despite their natural abilities of self-healing, the divine-inflicted wounds would take time to heal.

Drayce, Draven and even Arlan had passed the parts of their divine powers to these three to aid their healing process.

By the time Cornelia had explained them already that how those angels arrived all of a sudden and tried to take away Seren and Ember with them along with other powerful clan members and elders. In the end, they were defeated and took away the three women.

It didn’t take Evanthe much time to wake up as she was much more stronger than anyone could see through her.

"Mother," Drayce called her.

Evanthe looked at her son as she cleared her vision. He was back from the Demon realm.

"Dray...Seren...I couldn’t..."

"I know," he said calmly and assured his hurt mother despite being worried inside, "We will get her back."

Evanthe sat up in the bed as Drayce helped her.

Drayce offered her water to drink and calm herself. Just as she closed her eyes, to get her thoughts together, she recalled Sierra’s despirate last words to her, before she was being taken away.

"Evanthe, you are much more powerful than you know. Trust on your own abilities and you might end up breaking through your innate strong powers. I will wait for you to come and save Seren. You have to trust yourself..."
