Chapter 783: Morpheus’ Visions

Arlan went to Drayce, who was standing by the waterfall at the rear of Oriana’s residence. His expression appeared calm on the surface, but Arlan could tell that Drayce was anything but.

"Dray, I understand how you feel right now, but you have to calm down," Arlan said, placing a hand on Drayce’s shoulder. "If your father could help, your mother would have asked him already. Even if you go to him and he refuses to help you fight against the Heaven realm, won’t that hurt you more? Let’s focus on what we can do with our own strength. Trust me—I know we can fight and win against them."

Drayce closed his eyes for a moment, steadying himself, then simply hummed in response.

Arlan continued, "No one understands better than me what you’re feeling. You’re ready to seek help from anywhere you can. When Oriana was abducted, I was the same. But after that incident, I realized that we are meant to be with our mates. That is our destiny, and nothing can change it. Draven seems to understand that as well—that’s why he’s calm."

Just then, Morpheus arrived and joined the two.

He looked at Drayce and said, "Your mother is the most sensible supernatural being one can ever find. You can question her judgment and decisions, but you should also know that she would do anything in her power to do what’s right for all of us. She has never truly lived for herself, but for others. As for the Heaven realm, we will surely take it down and bring our mates back."

Drayce could only agree with what Arlan and Morpheus said—there was no other way forward.

After a while, they all decided to return to the human realm, as their work in the Demon realm was finished.

By the time they returned, the damage to the kingdom caused by the fight with the angels had all been repaired. Draven’s palace was restored to its original state, with no signs of destruction.

But as Draven looked at it, to him, it felt like nothing more than an empty shell—because Ember was not there.

Aureus, who had been waiting for their return for days, came to them immediately, relieved to see them back. He looked at his uncle, the only person he could directly ask about Seren.

Morpheus cast him an assuring gaze and urged him to remain calm.

"We all should rest first before leaving for the Heaven realm. We need to inform the elders and all the clan leaders about our plan, or they will be worried," Evanthe said, maintaining her calm and sensibility even in this situation. "We will gather at the palace in a few hours. In the meantime, I will look for Yorian as well." ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

"Mother, you should rest too. You are just as exhausted as we are," Drayce said, his tone filled with concern. "Wherever Yorian is, he can take care of himself."

"Drayce is right, Evanthe," Draven added. "Go and rest."Evanthe could only nod, feeling compelled to listen to her son, who now showed no signs of being upset with her.

Draven and the others agreed, and soon, they all disappeared from their places.

Drayce appeared at the cottage he and his dark side, Erebus, had built for his mate. He could feel Erebus’ restlessness and tried to soothe him. Walking into the bedroom, he inhaled the lingering scent of Seren on the sheets. He lay down on the bed, staring at the ceiling as he spoke to his dragon.

"Calm down. We will bring her back. I want her just as much as you do. Once we face the culprit, I will let you take over, and you can tear them apart."

Though Erebus never spoke to Drayce, he could sense that the dragon had calmed a little after hearing his words. A light growl sound echoed through his chest.

Meanwhile, Draven returned to his mate’s bedchamber, while Morpheus accompanied Aureus.

"Don’t worry, we will bring her back," Morpheus assured him. "We got some useful information from the Demon realm. Soon, we will head there."

"Uncle, I want to come with you as well. I want to protect her," Aureus said earnestly.

"Sure." Morpheus patted his shoulder. "I’m missing my mate. See you," he said before flying away.

When he entered Ember’s room, it was not empty—as usual, Draven was sitting there, staring at the vacant space where Ember used to sleep.Morpheus’ wings disappeared behind his back as he walked toward the bed.

He sat at the other end, and after a long silence, he finally spoke. "There is something I haven’t told anyone yet."

Draven took a moment to absorb his words before responding. "Since the incident on Mourning Day, I keep having visions that don’t seem to be from this realm.

"Draven looked at him intently. "What kind of visions?"

"A winged person dying in the arms of a woman who is crying for him. The vision isn’t clear, but I feel like I’m the one dying," Morpheus replied. "I can feel his pain, his helplessness—and the agony of seeing her cry."

"Do you think that winged person is you?" Draven asked.

"I’m not sure," Morpheus admitted, "but the visions keep coming."

"What is the woman like?" Draven asked.

"I couldn’t see her clearly, but I can say she had the same eyes as Ember. However, her temperament and appearance were different. She seemed more powerful. Though hurt, I could feel her utter anger and her will to destroy everything."

"Maybe you have some connection with the Heaven realm as well," Draven suggested.

"It’s not necessarily me—it could be my clan," Morpheus replied. "According to ancient books, the Divine Eagle Clan was formed when a soul from the Heaven realm descended to the mortal realm. Maybe these visions are related to the memories of that soul."

Draven hummed in thought. "Other than that particular vision, do you see anything else?"

"That same woman was imprisoned in a cold cave somewhere at the top of a tall mountain. Magical chains trapped her body, and she was always in pain."

"I’m sure the woman you saw is Ember from her previous life," Draven said. "She was said to be imprisoned at Mount Aramis in the Heaven realm. Your visions must be from that time."

"I was thinking the same after what we learned from Xyron. That’s why I brought this up to you now," Morpheus admitted.

"If that winged person is you, then it means you and Ember were connected in your past lives as well. No wonder you ended up being her mate, despite all your efforts to run away. I also believe there must be a reason why, in this life, you are with her."

"We need to find out about our past lives. These visions make me restless all the time," Morpheus commented.

"We will," Draven assured. "Try to focus on those visions more. Maybe you would end up seeing heaven realm and it might help us going ahead."
