Chapter 26 - Succubus Generals

As I entered into the city, which was the actual 'Meadow of Love,' I felt a chill go down my spine. It was... a little too fantasy-like.

It was as if I'd walked through a portal - the grass under my feet gave away to snow, the warm temperature dropping to icy-cold in an instant.

Compared to the Land of Iron's stone huts and buildings, this place was a lot more quaint. Small houses, looking entirely made of wood and having a log-cabin feel, sat scattered throughout the area of ahead of me.

There was only ten or so houses in eyesight, and they all looked abandoned. The light I had seen was the occasional lantern hanging outside a house, but the insides were all dark, and the doors were shut tight.

There were still trees littered throughout the city, making the area look more like a mountain-side village than a city. Snow blew through the air, slamming against my helmet as a gust of wind followed it.

The trees were still mystical-looking, with bright pink leaves blowing in the wind. There was also still a thick mist in the air.

I was silently grateful that I landed in the dire wolf territory when I appeared in this world - if I had started out here, I'd be stuck wandering around in the dark for ages.

But now I can still see pretty well, even with the snow and mist in my way.

"The Queen will be in the tower far ahead," Talia supplied from my side, proving her continued helpfulness, "The outskirts of the meadow should only have unevolved and weak evolved succubi. Most of them probably fled deeper into the city, though..."

"Though?" I glanced at her, the small woman stiffening at my gaze and continuing.

"I-I believe one of the generals was supposed to be stationed out here!" Talia explained quickly.

"Great," I grinned.

That was actually a good thing - I was confident I could take down any of the generals without trouble. They'd be nothing but a warmup for me, but they could cause genuine problems for my army, and even kill a lot of wolves.

Any strong monsters I take down is saving time and lives for my army.

I reached back, placing my sword in it's massive shealth - which also transformed when the sword did - that I had attached to the back of my armor. Then, I reached out and wrapped my palm around Talia.

"W-What are you doing?" Talia squeaked out.

"You won't be able to keep up," I said simply, tensing my legs. I shot forward, blitzing through the snowy landscape in front of my as I became a blur in the forest.

In an instant, I had traveled roughly five miles, appearing deeper in the city. I was still on the outer edge, but the number of houses around me increased a bit.

Now, it looked less like houses scattered around a snowy mountain and more like a small town.

I frowned as I glanced around in the darkness. The houses still looked abandoned, and the area was all around lifeless.

Did I move too quickly?

I figured that by diving straight into the city like that, any general that was nearby would come to stop me.

But, alas, I was still alone in the forest with just Talia in my hand and a rabid succubi tucked under my arm.

"They must have fled even deeper in," Talia said as I glanced at her again, "We received similar orders from the Fairy Queen. Any non-combat fairies were supposed to take refuge deeper in the forest."

That would explain it. Compared to the dire wolves under my command, who were all combat ready - mostly because they were literally wolves - the more intelligent monsters didn't necessarily have combat training.

While Vargan didn't have the low-level unintelligent type of dwarves - as the dwarves and cyclopses seemed to fit into a different category than the typical familiar forest monster - he had said that all his troops weren't combat trained. Some of them lived peaceful lives, working on creating rather than fighting.

So, it wasn't strange that the peaceful succubi had fled from the front line.

But, I should make sure they're all gone anyway. I activated [Thermal Vision], and a wave of orange light assaulted my eyes.

I blinked, glancing around in surprise. While the houses did look completely empty, all around me a bright orange light confirmed that living creatures were nearby. They were beyond the houses - but, they were heading toward me.

An army?

I assumed it must be the general. She really had noticed me burst into the city, but she was too slow to stop me immediately.

The swarm of light continued to grow brighter, the mass of warm temperature signatures coming closer to me.

But, I frowned as I continued looking around.

"What are you looking for?" Talia asked me curiously, but I ignored her.

The army wasn't coming from just one direction - no, it was coming from seemingly all around me. Behind me, to my right, to my left, and in front of me sat massive collections of bodies that were growing brighter and brighter as they approached.

I was surrounded already?

I must be missing something... I just sprinted into a pretty much random section of the city not even a minute ago. There was no way a general could've predicted I'd show up in this exact area and set up a trap.

I suppose Talia could've been leading me into a trap, but she was still just looking at me curiously. She didn't seem like she was waiting for an ambush or anything.

I opened my palm, releasing Talia as I reached back for my greatsword. I pulled it out, and Talia looked at me nervously.

"W-What are you..." She asked shakily, but I shook my head at her.

"Not you," I simply grunted, holding my sword out as I readied myself.

I wasn't sure how I'd been surrounded so quickly, but it wasn't an issue either. I'd just massacre them all, and then continue forward.

Though, if one of the Succubus General's was smart enough to set up something like this then I'd consider leaving her alive.

Unfortunately, I quickly found out that it wasn't some war-savy Succubus General.

From the dark and misty terrain around me, a red-skinned woman suddenly lunged out at me.

[Succubus] - Level 5

True to Talia's previous words, despite the succubus being a higher level than the one tucked under my arm, she was much less... provocative.

Compared to the one I was holding, which was almost supernatural looking in her overly sexy body, this one was much more plain.

She was equally as naked, but her body was much more human-looking, aside from the red skin and horns. Her breasts were large, but not absurdly so. Her waist was thin but not supernaturally so. Overall, she looked like a rather attractive human woman.

Well, a rather attractive human woman turned zombie.

She lunged at me with crazed eyes, practically drooling as she rocketed toward my crotch.

Unfortunately for her, I had no reason to spare her like I did the other succubus. She didn't seem to have a ton of potential, nor was I intent on starting an unevolved succubi farm.

My sword slashed through her easily, cutting her completely in half. As she slumped at my feet, turning the snow around us red with her blood, I leaned down and took a bite of her shoulder.

[Devour] has been used on [Succubus] - Level 5.

+ 1 [Devour] Skill XP!

[Alluring Aura]

[Alluring Aura] - Release an alluring aura, causing those around you to feel more comfortable and at ease.

I nodded appreciatively at the new skill. It wouldn't really be useful in combat unless I was planning a betrayal or a sneak attack, but it was still good for the overall quality of life.

It'd make creating relationships and negotiating easier.

I also got a surprising amount of CHA, especially compared to what the fairies had given.

"An unevolved? This far in?" Talia muttered, floating next to me with a frown.

"Grab my shoulder plate and hang on tight," I said quickly, angling my shoulder toward her.

"Huh?" Luckily, she still followed my order instantly and grabbed on despite her next words, "Why?"

"That's not the only one," I grunted, slashing out my blade as another succubi lunged out from the darkness.

All around me, the waves of bodies whose heat I had seen earlier finally caught up. Succubi after succubi came flying out from the darkness, their gazes notably aimed at my crotch.

I had no intention of death by snu-snu, so I lashed out with my sword. It cut through them like paper, and my hands became a blur as a dozen succubi turned into dozens.

Then, those dozens became hundreds. My sword continued to swing, a pile of bodies growing at my feet as the white snow became a deep, dark, red color.

I silently frowned as wave after wave of succubi came funneling at me to meet their doom.

Despite my presence boost, they weren't dissuaded from trying to attack me. If anything, their faces were eager as their tongues literally flopped out and their hands tried to reach my crotch.

Was it because they were mindless?

The fairies, even most of the unintelligent ones, had mostly stayed out of my way before, but these succubi didn't hesitate.

Whatever, I can think about that later. For now, I don't have time to waste with a never-ending army of succubi.

I raised my hand, a bright orange flame appearing on it. It'd ruin the meal afterward a bit, as burnt flesh was much less appetizing than normal flesh, but I didn't have time to eat them all anyway. I needed to get to the Succubus Queen as fast as possible and then go help Vargan and my troops.

I leaped up, ignoring Talia's scream as we soared a couple dozen of feet into the air. I wrapped my hand around one of the hanging branches, stopping my descent and hanging above the succubi below.

The succubi under me continued to dive forward stupidly, slamming into each other and forming a massive dog pile. They started pushing each other, the pile growing bigger and bigger as they literally used each other as steps to try and jump up at me.

None of them got close, and I merely hung above them for a few minutes, letting the pile build up. I reached over, occasionally grabbing a nearby branch as I sheathed my sword. I used [Material Change] to shift the branches into oil, letting it drip down and douse the succubi below.

Then, once it was stretching roughly a dozen feet upward as they clamored over each other, I pointed my palm down.

I activated [Fireball].

The ball of fire shot downward, slamming into the pile of succubi and burning them alive. Even as they died, they continued to mindlessly reach toward me, apparently not even registering the pain.

It was kind of creepy overall. I felt like I was in a zombie apocalypse.

The fire spread, encompassing the entire the pile and then spreading to the trees and houses around us. As the succubi below me died and their movements stopped, I let go of the branch and fell to the ground. A dent appeared in the snow under my boots from the impact.

I quickly got to work - shoveling bits and pieces of the bodies into my mouth as the fire around us continued to grow. I didn't want to waste any more time here, but I also wanted to get the second skill before I left.

Luckily, after only a couple of succubi I got what I wanted.

[Devour] has been used on [Succubus] - Level 9.

You have gained:

+3HP (32,590/32,590)

+1 MAX HP (32,591/32,591)

+15 CHA

+5 HREG

+5 MREG

+7XP!

+ 1 [Devour] Skill XP!

[Charm]

[Charm] - Inflict the [Charm] debuff! (Only works on those attracted to the user)

Despite my aura constantly draining their stats as I was nearby the mass of succubi, they were so weak that I didn't get an absurd amount of stats.

I blinked, looking at the skill.

I expected that succubi would have something similar, but I didn't think I'd be able to take it from them.

This was nice - very nice. I could pretty much assure loyalty from any female subordinates.

Hell, this could even be useful against Tiamat. If I managed to level it up enough to overpower any resistances she had, then I could make her my familiar without even needing to fight.

"T-There were so many," Talia stuttered behind me, staring at the huge burning pile of corpses, "I've never seen this many! This is probably at least a fifth of all the unevolved succubi!

The pile must've contained at least a thousand bodies, possibly even two thousand, so that wasn't that surprising. But...

"Why are they all here?" I hummed.

I was still in the outskirts of the city, and while I wasn't super knowledgeable about how the Meadow of Love operated, I could still tell it was strange for so many weak succubi to be charging at me.

Were they being commanded by a general?

"They usually stay outside the city, but I guess if all the evolved succubi moved in, then theres no one to stop them from entering the city, but..." Talia mused, but her face squished in thought, "There still shouldn't be so many in one place!"

I opened my mouth to speak again, but was interrupted as a female voice resounded into the small tree and house filled circle.

"Awww, they found the meal before us!" A tall, voluptuous succubus walked toward me from a couple dozen feet deeper in the city, "Poor things..."

"Eh? It's their fault!" A smaller, more petite-looking succubus walked next to her, smirking at me, "Don't act like you're sad! If they ate him before we got here, you'd kill them all anyway!"

The first, taller - much taller, looking to be nearly six feet in height - succubus looked more like a typical succubus. Her face was angular and beautiful, her eyes boring into my sole as she stared at me. She had a slim waist, porcelain white skin that seemed to almost glow, and a lustful body.

Her breasts were massive, looking heavy as they hung off of her chest like two melons. Despite their size, they barely sagged, looking round and soft.

Purple hair flowed down her back and shoulders, being long enough to go past her waist. She was wearing a loose black outfit that did barely anything to cover her - it parted around her breasts, wrapping around them like a bikini, and then had a slight line of fabric before it parted again to show off her stomach.

It stretched down, cutting into strings at her waist to cover her crotch - overall looking almost like a pitch-black bikini, but with a bit more fabric.

I blinked as my eyes took in her lower half, which was... disappointing?

Compared to her upper half at least - her thighs were thick, and she had wide hips, but compared to the massive bazookas on her chest she was surprisingly average on the lower half.

The second succubus was the opposite - she was barely five feet tall, with short bright-pink hair that split into two twin-tails and barely passed her shoulders. Her face was more cute than beautiful, and she had a mixture of a cheeky and smug look on it. Compared to the first succubus's body, hers was much different, but equally as lustful.

While her breasts were much smaller, looking more like an above-average human womans, her waist was still slim. While her upper half was lacking, her lower half was absurdly curvy - thick thighs, long legs despite her short body, and an ass so thick it almost looked comical.

It pushed out from her rear, defying gravity as her hips' wideness exceeded her shoulders, like two balloons. If I didn't know she was a succubus, I'd have accused the girl of getting a BBL. A lot of BBL's.

I glanced back at the first succubus.

[Kyon] [Succubus General] - Level 55

Only level 55? As far as generals go, she was on the weaker side.

I turned my gaze to the shorter one.

[Momo] [Succubus General] - Level 70

She was a lot stronger, but not enough to make me worried - I shouldn't have any trouble with these two.

"Like what you see, big guy?" Momo smirked at me as I looked at her, not seemingly the least bit intimidated despite my presence increases and daunting armor. In fact, she even angled her body slightly, giving me a better view of her thick behind.

"Don't give in too quickly, alright honey?" Kyon coo'd, smiling beautifully at me as she took a step forward, "I could feel your power from miles away... I want to enjoy myself with you!"

She could feel my power? Do succubi have an ability like that?

That would explain the other thousands of succubi charging at me.

I glanced over at Talia, and she flushed as she seemingly realized the reason.

"S-Succubi are naturally drawn towards those with power, but," She glanced back at the thousands of succubi lying dead, "F-For you to attract so many... I didn't think that was even possible!"

I got a little ego boost from that. I was strong as hell, after all.

"Hey, big guy! Eye's over here!" Momo called out again, snapping her finger to bring my attention back to her, "Stop talking to that little fairy! On your knees! Come kiss my feet, and I'll make you feel real good!"

I blinked, staring at her strangely, though she couldn't see it through my helmet.

She knows I'm attacking their kingdom, right? Did the whole sword and armor not give it away?

Why's she making such a weird demand?

I quickly found out as a notification appeared.

You have been inflicted with the [Charm] debuff!

[Mental Resistance] has blocked the debuff!

[Mental Resistance] effectiveness: 95%

My eyes dragged down, staring at Momo's bare feet.

...

Y'know, as far as feet go, they're pretty nic-

I promptly dragged my eyes back up, frowning.

This was annoying - I had trained [Mental Resistance] all the way up to level 20, and yet it wasn't completely negating her attack?

Th𝗲 most uptodate novels are published on ƒгeewёbnovel.com.

The remaining 5% felt like a lot more than 5% too - I didn't want to imagine how much I'd be struggling if I didn't have the skill and was taking 100% of the impact.

It wasn't like I suddenly wanted to kiss her feet - but, what had previously seemed like an insane demand was now suddenly... not that bad?

It was like when I was in a fight - I could either dodge an attack or block it. Dodging was almost always the better option - I'd take no damage, and it would throw off my opponent's momentum and plan.

But, blocking wasn't the worst option either - I'd take a bit of damage, but I was in a better position to launch a counterattack. It was a worse decision than dodging most of the time, but it wasn't something that would make me lose the fight.

Now, that's what the situation seemed like to my body, even if my brain knew it was wrong.

The best decision was to pull out my sword, dash forward, and cut off their heads before they have a chance to use any more magic. But, listening to Momo and falling to my knees didn't seem that bad.

I promptly reached back, unsheathing my massive sword.

Even if [Mental Resistance] was blocking most of the impact, this was still concerning enough that I shouldn't be careless. There were still two generals right in front of me, and they had rather concerning types of magic.

So, I'll kill them before they can use any more.

"Eh? It didn't work?" Momo asked dumbly, glancing over at Kyon as she watched me pull out my sword, "He didn't even hesitate either! This one's even tougher than we thought- EEK!"

Momo flinched back as I suddenly burst forward, appearing in front of her in an instant. My sword lashed out, slicing directly at her neck.

But, it was suddenly stopped before it reached her. The man kneeling next to her lunged forward, slamming his fire-coated fist into the blade of my sword to protect her.

I blinked.

There was a man kneeling next to her?

I hadn't even noticed him - which was concerning. One of the generals must've had a distraction-type skill, or he was using a stealth skill that hid him even from my enhanced vision.

Either way - not good.

My sword carved straight through his hand, splitting his arm down the middle in a shower of blood, but the impact was enough to knock my aim off course. The blade missed Momo, slashing to the side of her, and I was forced to back up instead of launching another strike as a burst of fire suddenly streamed at me from the man's stumped arm.

I leaped back, dodging the burst of fire as I assessed the situation.

Kyon and Momo looked a bit shaken from my sudden attack - that was good. I was stronger than they had expected, and Momo hadn't been quick enough to defend herself. If the man hadn't stopped me, she would've died.

Meanwhile, I glanced at the man. He was decently tall, muscular, and was wearing almost nothing. He had shoulder-length blonde hair, and a stoney face. He had a loincloth tied around his crotch, along with a collar tied around his neck. Besides that, he was fully naked.

I didn't envy him - I bet he was freezing in this cold.

I quickly realized that he was, in fact, not freezing - another burst of fire shot out of the decapitated stump of an arm. However, this time, it wasn't directed at me.

It flashed out into the snowy landscape, morphing around for a minute, and then solidified in the shape of an arm. Then, said flame-arm solidified - becoming an actual arm.

The fuck? That was the Phenex clans ability, right? How is this guy...

[Regal Phenex] [Noble Devil] - Level 157

My eyes widened.

Oh, because he's a Phenex. Fair enough.

...

Why the fuck is a Phenex here?!

"H-He's tough! Call them both in!" Kyon stuttered slightly, pointing her finger into the air. A beam of purple light shot upward, streaming into the sky. A second later, Momo did the same.

Then, suddenly, a loud rumble came from the ground around me.

Why do I have a bad feeling about this?

I debated trying to quickly cut their heads off again, but as Regal tensed in front of me, I didn't think it'd be that easy.

A moment later, the source of the rumbling appeared. Two massive figures, both spanning well over 20 feet tall and wide, came soaring at us from the sky.

Another rumbling rang out as the two light blue scaled beasts landed in front of the Succubus Generals, flapping their wings and sending out a burst of ice-cold air.

[Taka] [Blizzard Dragon] - Level 125

[Yono] [Blizzard Dragon] - Level 140

I stared forward blankly.

A Phenex clan member - not just that, but a direct bloodline member who could regenerate - and two blizzard dragons?

This could be bad...

...

I grinned, my mouth salivating as I tensed my body, pointing my sword at them.

A Phenex and a dragon?

I hope they taste good.
