The dragon's harem-Chapter 1283: Devilish Intellect
"I don't know what the Titans would think, but humans would be scared of you. They might even try to kill you. So, for now, try to get that devilish curse under control." Arad cracked his neck and looked at the walls of his expansion. This great expansion had been reduced to nothing more than a veil to hide inside. He doubts there'll be a chance to use its full power anytime soon. Even Damnation might not force him to use it.
Euri glared at his blood-red trident with disdain. Where did this vile blood come from? Even he wouldn't let a half-devil like this live, and now he had ended up as the monster. "They would try to kill me. We Titans don't get along with devils that much." freewebnoveℓ.com
He tried to put the spear away, but it refused to turn back into a halberd, and his blood kept boiling. He could feel a deep rage boiling in his chest, lusting for blood.
"It seems that devil's curse is only granting you a physical boost and that trident. That means you'll turn back to normal if you pass out of exhaustion." Arad swung his three-section staff, "Come, I'll play with you for a bit."
"You'd better kill me. What's the point of letting me live if they'll kill me tomorrow? It's pointless." Euri pointed his trident at Arad and smiled. "At least they'll kick you out of the arena if you kill me. It would be better if they sent you back to whatever cave you crawled out from."
Arad laughed, "You're still about that? Well, fine, let me tell you something. As long as you survive this fight, I'll get Tyal and Zeus to make sure no one harms you. Devils are evil, true, but there are exceptions, just like how there are both good and evil among humans. What's more, you've merely got their blood, not their soul." Arad started spinning the three-section staff and approached Euri.
Euri lunged forward as fast as he could, thrusting the trident at Arad's throat. The attack was so fast that he turned into a blur, fire burning a trail behind him as a shockwave burst around his massive body.
Then, it was as if Arad turned into ten people, moving so fast that he left after the images. He swatted the trident aside, breaking Euri's wrist, and sent a punch so harrowing that the brat saw his death approaching and soon watched his whole life flash before his eyes as Arad's fist blasted him with a shockwave.
But Euri didn't feel much pain. In fact, his wrist healed too quickly. The bone mended, and the ripped tendons repaired themselves as he spun back and landed on his feet, his body driven by hellish magic.
With such speed, Arad could've ripped his throat or eyes with ease. It was clear to Euri that Arad wasn't going all out. He wasn't taking the fight seriously yet, even after being wounded by him once. The reason for that was simple. Euri's first strike landed by pure luck. If Arad wasn't lowering his strength and defenses to make the fight look believable, he wouldn't have been able to scratch him.
But would that be enough to stop Euri? It would've stopped him if he was still just a Titan. He is a Devil Titan now, and he knows no fear. He lunged forward and swung the trident at Arad, releasing several deadly strikes, aiming straight at the eyes, throat, and stomach. The attacks weren't just thrusts either. He mixed several slashes with the sharp tip of the trident and attacked with its blunt butt to unleash a rain of deadly attacks.
Arad threw the three-section staff above his head, letting it spin alone in the air through the fraction of a second that Euri's barrage of attacks lasted. He then used his bare hands to block and deflect all of Euri's attacks.
As a storm of sparks flashed around Arad as the spear's blood-red metal disintegrated from the friction of brushing against his scales, Euri's expressions shifted a bit. He could understand Arad's scales being hard and durable, but for his spear to be the one to be ground to dust. It was unbelievable.
Euri ground his teeth and took a step forward, exploding into another barrage of attacks. He put everything he had forward, swinging as fast as he could, with as much power and cunning as his mind could achieve. He mixed several feints and tricks in the middle of his combo, going all out for once.
With sweat rushing down his face and arms. With blood seeping out of his nails and eyes, Euri still couldn't get past Arad's defense. It was as if this black dragon had ten arms, each moving with a mind of its own. It was as if Arad could see the future. It was as if he wasn't a living being at all, but the mere idea of Euri not being able to break his defense.
Euri was in the middle of his third barrage when he almost gave up, understanding well that Arad was far above him in both skill and physical capabilities. He had no hope of scratching him. Even a thousand of him won't be able to put a single dent on this dragon's scales.
The three-section staff was still spinning above Arad's head. Not even a half-second had passed since Arad threw it, and the whole exchange had looked like a blur.
Euri came to understand several things just from this exchange. The first was that the power Arad showed the Titans was nothing but a fraction of his true might. He can't even imagine the demi-god Zeus beating Arad.
It finally made sense that Alice and Claug were so obedient, being okay with him having many more wives.
And now Euri had a question. Does Tyal know what kind of monster her husband is? No, he wasn't a fool. All of her actions, she must know. This means Gale's defeat was already set in stone the moment Arad and Tyal landed in the kingdom. But wasn't Zeus the one who suggested the fight?
Since when? Dragons are known to plan ahead for years. What was a part of Arad's plan, and what wasn't? Was Zeus's resurrection as a demi-god a part of it?
No, it doesn't make sense. The way Zeus and Arad met, the two of them should've fought at sight. Why didn't they? Because of Tyal? No, because those two were planning this together.
But Zeus was dead, killed by Gale.
Unless Gale didn't kill Zeus.
Blood rushed to Euri's head. If that was true, all hell would break loose. If Gale didn't kill Zeus and still took the throne. Did he know that Zeus was alive? He must've known since he was the one to dispose of Zeus's corpse.
Euri's power shot again, almost tripling as rage and hatred clouded his thoughts. If Gale had violated the Titan's tradition, he'd be the one to rip his head off.
