Alessandra pulled Edgar closer to her. Each passing moment she spent with him like this made her feel young again. She was pulled back to that fortunate night when she was so lucky to get a glimpse of Edgar as he exited her father’s home to enjoy his cigar.
’The coat is a little thin for such weather, isn’t it?’
The first words Edgar spoke to her still echoed in her mind. It was the start of a wonderful marriage, and though many years had passed, Edgar continued to love her. He loved her even with her flaws, and she loved him for it.
Alessandra loved that Edgar was never afraid to show her all the sides to him. He wasn’t afraid to show his vulnerable side.
"I love you," Alessandra said, loud enough for Edgar to hear.
"I love you," the response came without missing a beat.
Edgar didn’t have to think about it. He loved the woman lying beneath him, and he had spent many days during their marriage letting her know this.
"Getting all sappy on me isn’t going to change anything," Edgar said, still wanting to punish her a little.
He was far from finished with what they started in the bathing chamber.
Edgar nestled himself between her parted legs, and as he penetrated her, filling her with his length, he bit right above her right breast to hear her groan.
Her fingers dug into his back, but not hard enough to hurt him or leave a mark to expose what they had done while the others were resting.
His slick tongue traced where he bit her, and beneath him, Alessandra shuddered. Her body writhed beneath his as Edgar’s body rocked into her. She bit her lip, which earned her more time being held in Edgar’s arms as he told her.
A mixture of sounds filled the once quiet room. From the cackling fire long started by a maid to the movement of the bed with each thrust. Their breaths tangled with each other due to their closeness and the calls of each other’s names.
Every fine detail about the moment Alessandra and Edgar found themselves in left Alessandra yearning for more.
Alessandra held onto Edgar, not wanting to let go. There was a sudden burst of energy which filled her and would save her from being teased by Edgar.
Alessandra thought herself lucky that despite all of these years, the fire between them had not once burned out.
There were disagreements throughout the years, but after a quick talk, they would make up, and like now, Alessandra would find herself beneath Edgar.
Her thoughts about the past soon went away as her mind became focused on Edgar.
Alessandra’s body felt warm, either due to the fire or from their bodies. The water from earlier was now mixed with sweat.
Edgar stopped for a moment, admiring the beauty beneath him. Her cheeks were flushed, and her eyes were in a daze.
Alessandra, in this vulnerable state, was still the most beautiful sight Edgar had ever witnessed.
Edgar pulled Alessandra up since she felt so far away.
The dangers around the town, which seemed to be attaching itself to Alessandra, worried him. Edgar worried when she was out of his sight, but there was relief when he came home and saw that she was well.
Alessandra was safe here.
Edgar needed it to stay this way so that Alessandra would always be safe. He needed her to be there when he returned home.
Edgar was already so unfortunate to lose one person who would wait for him.
Edgar rested his head on Alessandra’s shoulder. Not once did she stop as he continued to fill her with his length. He held her closely, fearing there would be a day he might not be so fortunate to have this.
Alessandra sensed there was something that troubled Edgar, but all she could do in the moment was hold him.
Her hands moved to be in Edgar’s hair, but this time, Edgar didn’t mind it.
Edgar’s right hand gripped her buttocks while his left hand was placed on her lower back, guiding her to take more of him.
Edgar felt her body tense up, and it soon switched to him being the one at her mercy.
Alessandra was the first one to give in, followed shortly by Edgar. His head still rested on her shoulder, and as Alessandra took deep breaths to calm herself, she stroked his back with her hand.
"What is wrong, Edgar? You must tell me," said Alessandra.
There was cause for concern when Edgar got like this.
"Everyone must be safe," she heard.
"I am well, and all our children are safe. It will stay that way," Alessandra promised.
Edgar continued to hug Alessandra, and after he had filled her with his seed, he said, "The chains and whips are still present."
Alessandra frowned. She thought they were having a sweet moment, but Edgar quickly had other things on his mind.
"No," Alessandra replied. He could convince her to do anything other than that tonight.
"They cannot hear us-"
"I know, but I will not allow it tonight. Now that you are done, we must tidy ourselves. We need to finish our bath," said Alessandra.
Edgar intended to finish their bath, but not at the moment.
Alessandra’s back hit the bed as Edgar changed their position so he would tower over her again.
Alessandra shook her head, but she welcomed a second time.
"We’ll have our bath later," Edgar replied, his fingers interlocked with Alessandra’s.
"You’re a needy man," Alessandra said, but she pulled him closer for another kiss.
Meanwhile, in another room, Tyrion stared at the ceiling of the room he shared with Penelope.
Penelope was fast asleep, using his arm and chest to her liking.
Tyrion couldn’t move a muscle since he would wake Penelope. His left hand was around her waist, keeping her in place. She was able to sleep so soundly after stirring up feelings inside of him, but Tyrion had long moved past it. Or, so he convinced himself.
From the moment the day started, Penelope was up early to get ready for the duchess’s gathering, which wasn’t going to start for many hours. Then, Penelope had been moving around since they came to the estate.
Penelope was long overdue for a gathering not filled with drama, and she needed the rest she was getting now.
Tyrion kissed her forehead and plotted for the time they would be out of the Collins estate. Until then, he stared at the ceiling since he was unable to sleep.
