The Evil Lord's Wife Has Spirit Blood-Chapter 339
When Lucas returned, Alexander was already gone, and Michelle was already feeling some strain in her arms.
That meant it wouldn’t be long before she would be forced to let go.
And indeed, after a while, Michelle let go of the ladder and landed on her feet.
Lucas came over to her and handed her a vial.
"This contains a potent mix of the medicine for body-tempering. Add it into your bath. When you get in, be careful not to faint."
Michelle took the vial, tempted to open it right away.
But she knew when not to let her curiosity get the better of her.
So she held back and tucked it away.
Thanking Lucas, she was about to leave when he stopped her.
"It would be better if someone was with you in case you did faint. But do you have any friends in the academy?"
Michelle smiled a bit as she answered: "I’ll think of something, teacher."
When Michelle returned to her dorm room, she went to the bathroom.
Using spirit stones to power it, there was a bathtub.
Michelle filled it up and sat nearby to open the vial to examine it a bit.
But before she could do anything, Alexander appeared once again.
"You won’t go ask a friend to stay here with you?" he was smiling, but anyone could feel the chill in his voice and gaze.
Looking over at him, Michelle quite liked that expression.
"Should I go get someone?" she asked with a smile.
Alexander snatched the vial from Michelle’s hands, his smile turning colder.
"Why would you do that when there is nothing dangerous around?"
Michelle’s eyes narrowed when Alexander snatched the vial, but she didn’t get angry.
Though her eye took on a red hue like it did before; she had an exciting idea.
"I feel like chatting with someone my age!" she smiled wide.
"I’ll go make some friends!" she stood up, ready to leave.
Nearly instantly, Alexander’s arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her back.
"You can always chat with me..." he whispered against the side of her neck, lifting his hand to trace his fingers along the other side.
Michelle felt something stir within her, but she ignored it.
"And what would I chat with you about?" she pulled away from Alexander and turned to look at him.
"Fighting? Your Dark Palace? Neither seems all that interesting."
When Alexander’s face darkened at Michelle’s words, her smile widened.
Oh, how she loved seeing him angry. Or at least annoyed.
Feeling what Michelle was feeling through the Shadow Pact, Alexander’s eyes flashed coldly.
"So you feel like messing with me?"
Alexander grabbed Michelle and pulled her against him.
Then, he lowered himself a bit to wrap his arms around her just beneath her bottom, and lifted her up, staring straight into her face.
The sudden movement surprised Michelle a bit, making her let out a soft gasp.
"What makes you think messing with me won’t result in a tragedy?" the coldness in Alexander’s voice made Michelle’s stomach tighten.
She wanted to mess with him more. To enrage him.
So she made a continuous effort to achieve it.
"Who said I’m afraid of consequences?" she grinned, lifting her hands to put them on Alexander’s shoulders.
"I would very much be prepared to fight back!"
Alexander felt his eyebrow twitch.
There was really no getting to the brat he was holding.
She was determined to remain stubborn.
"I’m stronger than you. I can easily overpower you." His lowered voice made Michelle tighten her grip on his shoulders.
"But you won’t do it!" she lowered her head, pressing her forehead to his.
"And what makes you think that?" Alexander’s eyes narrowed.
He, in a way, did enjoy when Michelle was messing with him, because her full attention was on him, but it was still able to tick him off.
With a wide smile, Michelle leaned backwards.
If Alexander didn’t tighten his grip on her, she would have fallen down.
"You wouldn’t hurt me. You love me."
Both Michelle and Alexander knew that saying that was bullshit.
Yes, Alexander did love Michelle, but that wouldn’t stop him from messing her up.
Still, Alexander set Michelle down, staring at that grinning face with narrowed eyes.
Then, he leaned over so his face was millimeters from Michelle’s.
"And you love me back..."
Alexander’s words were a low whisper that wouldn’t have been heard in a busier place.
But it rang within Michelle’s ears like a siren before an earthquake.
Her smile froze as she stared back at Alexander, the red in her eye retreating.
She knew Alexander loved her. He told her so himself.
But she herself never had the feeling that she loved or even liked him.
She enjoyed messing with him, making him angry and annoyed.
But lately, she did notice that she was reacting a bit differently to him.
It was after she saw his enraged expression as he watched her become Marcus’ disciple. She strangely enjoyed seeing that expression.
It pulled on something within her.
Silence stretched in the bathroom for a good while before Michelle snapped out of it.
Her mind worked at groundbreaking speed to sort out her thoughts and reach a conclusion.
And then, the red hue returned to her eye, a chilly smile spreading on her lips.
"Maybe I just might..."
Something shifted in Michelle.
She could always be called crazy or at least abnormal, but after the shift, there was clearly something off in the depths of her eyes.
It was so clear that it could even be seen in her glass eye, the Eye of Nihil.
Alexander truthfully wasn’t expecting Michelle to admit her feelings so suddenly, so it took him by surprise.
And, though quickly concealed, something that had never happened before appeared.
A slight tingle of red at the corners of Alexander’s eyes.
But it lasted only as long as his surprise did.
The moment his brain processed what just happened, the red disappeared.
Reaching out, he put his hand under Michelle’s chin, lifting her head to look straight in his eyes.
"You are crazy," Alexander finally said after a while, his voice a low rumble.
And as he spoke, he slowly moved his hand from Michelle’s chin to her neck, feeling her pulse.
It was unsettlingly steady.
Michelle’s eyes narrowed into smiling crescents.
"I’ve always been crazy, no?"
She placed her hand over Alexander’s, her eyes flashing.
Alexander couldn’t help but chuckle.
"Yes, you have!" he lowered his hand from Michelle’s neck and threw the vial back at her.
Michelle grabbed the vial and opened it.
"How much damage do you think it would do if someone drank it instead of soaking in it?" she asked curiously.
She didn’t exactly want an answer, but if Alexander did say something, she wouldn’t get angry.
Looking at Michelle, Alexander shrugged.
"You could try it."
Michelle glanced at him. "Should I?"
Alexander didn’t answer.
Michelle took a whiff of the vial, considering taking a sip.
But finally, she didn’t.
Instead, she poured it into the tub, which was already nearly full of water.
The liquid was bright red, but when it mixed with the water, it spread out and reacted with it, turning the water whitish red.
With the preparations complete, all Michelle needed to do was take off her clothes and get into the tub.
Glancing back at Alexander, just her expression was enough to tell him to go out.
But, well, Alexander was quite the shameless bastard when it came to Michelle, so he made no effort to leave.
Instead, he leaned against the wall as if he didn’t understand Michelle’s gaze.
Michelle knew that he understood and was doing that on purpose.
"I’ll go back on my words and infect you with Void Plague," her voice was calm as she threatened.
Alexander smiled shamelessly.
"You would do that to the man you love?"
Michelle wasn’t the kind of person who would lose an argument.
"I said that maybe I might. Not that I love you."
As she spoke, her chilly smile returned, the same one she had when she said maybe she just might love Alexander.
"Oh, no..." Nearly instantly, Alexander appeared behind her, wrapping one hand around her waist and running the other over her neck.
"No take backs..." he lowered his head to press his lips to the side of Michelle’s neck.
Michelle’s brows arched.
"That’s a threat?" her voice was that of contained laughter.
Alexander moved his gaze to look at her face.
"You may take it as whatever you want..." as he spoke, his teeth brushed over Michelle’s neck.
And when he finished speaking, instead of closing his mouth like a normal person, he bit down on Michelle’s neck.
Michelle narrowed her eyes, pain throbbing in her neck.
If Alexander put just a bit more strength into his jaw, his teeth would break Michelle’s skin, drawing blood.
"Stop that," Michelle spoke with the same near-laughing voice as before as she lifted her hand to Alexander’s neck.
Alexander kept his gaze locked on Michelle, letting go of her neck.
"Did a single bite make you no longer love me?" he had a smirk on his face as he asked that, not a speck of seriousness in him.
Michelle still had her hand on Alexander’s neck.
"Oh, don’t worry! I won’t stop loving you!"
As she spoke, her hand on Alexander’s neck tightened. Not enough to restrict his breathing, but enough to be uncomfortable.
"I just hope you don’t end up hating that..."
Alexander chuckled.
It was clear to both him and Michelle that with their personalities and lack of restraint when it came to destruction and danger, their love would be far from ordinary.
And very easily, it could turn destructive and dangerous.
But that seemed to be what was pulling them together the most.
