The Evil Lord's Wife Has Spirit Blood-Chapter 344
Having to go to her training, Michelle tucked the Mask of Sin into her space, not having time to contract it just yet.
She would do that when she returned.
As far as she knew, Lucas had planned something new for her, so she couldn’t be late.
Alexander remained in the room as Michelle left.
Only when the door closed behind her did he let the shadows in the room stretch to envelop him.
A moment later, the shadows returned to normal.
But Alexander was nowhere to be seen.
Once outside her room, Michelle rushed to the training grounds, only to see that it was empty.
Only a stone was suspiciously placed in the middle.
Walking over, Michelle moved it aside, only to see it was weighing down a piece of paper so the wind wouldn’t blow it away.
Michelle bent down to look at it, but she didn’t pick it up.
It could as well be a test.
Or a trap...
There was no one around to tell her the truth.
Stretching her hand out, Michelle decided to pick the paper up.
Turning it over, she slowly read the note written on it.
"You should have died in that lake!"
It was written in red ink that should have resembled blood.
But Michelle could tell it wasn’t real blood.
The color was off.
She, as a former assassin, could tell that with a single glance.
As Michelle read the note, Lucas arrived.
"What’s that?" he asked after seeing the paper and Michelle’s expression.
Her face was calm as always, but her eyes were narrowed ever so slightly.
Michelle lifted her gaze to look at Lucas.
"A reminder of the past..." her voice was carrying a hint of coldness.
Lucas walked over to look over Michelle’s shoulder.
She didn’t hide the paper, so he could read the note.
"Aren’t you worried?" he asked.
"Your life had been threatened just a few weeks ago."
Michelle didn’t show any fear.
"From that moment, it was clear they would appear again. Especially so after coming here and getting accepted as a disciple by Master Antony and Master Marcus."
Hearing the detachment in Michelle’s voice, Lucas frowned a bit.
Those who had messed with her clearly didn’t know who she was.
And Lucas had to admit, even he didn’t know.
He just knew that the seemingly harmless student was far from one.
"Anyways, teacher..." Michelle crumpled the paper in her hand.
"You said today’s training will be different. How so?" she asked.
Lucas stared at Michelle for a while, as if making sure she was alright after getting a threatening note.
Then, he finally decided to move on to the training.
"Your body reacted terribly to medical tempering, so that’s out of question. But you can try physical tempering."
Michelle lifted a brow at that. "How exactly, teacher?"
Lucas took something out of his space ring.
Something wrapped in a dark cloth.
"What’s that?" Michelle got curious.
Lucas threw it at her. "Check it yourself."
Michelle untied the rope keeping the cloth around the object.
The moment the knot came undone, she felt something shift.
The thing got lighter on her hand, as if it was lifting itself off her palm.
Putting the rope aside, Michelle started unwrapping the cloth, feeling the object get lighter with every coil she unwrapped.
After a moment, she had to grip her fingers tightly around the thing, so it wouldn’t fly out of her hand.
Or at least that was what it felt like on her palm.
Finally, Michelle unwrapped the last coil of the cloth and revealed the object.
Inside was settled a cube of something dark.
"How does this work?" Michelle gripped it tightly.
Even as her skin made contact with it, she didn’t feel it affect her in any way.
"You have a bit of spirit energy, right?" Lucas asked.
From what he had heard, though Ana Ostrich was considered a cultivation cripple, she was of the Divine rank.
And that would be enough.
Michelle nodded. "A bit."
"Then pour in as much spirit energy as possible. Keep pushing even if your spirit veins hurt from it." Lucas added the last sentence because apparently, the reason Ana Ostrich was a cultivation trash was because her spirit veins were weak and she couldn’t even use spirit energy properly because of it.
Another nod came from Michelle as she put her other hand over the cube too.
"Will you tell me what it will do, or is that for me to find out on my own?" she asked, about to start pouring in her spirit energy.
Lucas was very carefree about it.
"It depends on how much potential you have. If average or below average, it will just use your own spirit energy to temper your body. If high, it could even pull you into its own space."
Hearing that, Michelle scoffed.
What a nice teacher she had?
Initially, she had thought he was the most normal amongst the teachers who had taught her in the academy, but it seemed she couldn’t have been more wrong.
Marcus did purposely put her in danger.
Antony put her through a disgusting test the moment she started training under him.
When she met Lucas, he seemed to be the most normal.
He just had her train and offered her a tempering medicine.
But so it turned out he was just withholding the rest of his methods.
A tempering space...
That couldn’t be anything good.
Yes, it would definitely benefit her, but the dangers about it would probably be higher than anything she had faced in the academy.
Though, she had never really faced anything all that dangerous there since no one was aware of her inhuman traits.
Still, it was funny that the one teacher she considered to be the most normal and somewhat safest would put her into the most risky situation.
And yet, Michelle didn’t hesitate and summoned her spirit energy.
The cube instantly showed three colors, white, black, and purple: ice, darkness, and poison elements.
Seeing that, Michelle’s eyes widened.
"It can scan my element?" she had no clue what element the original Ana Ostrich had, so she didn’t want to reveal her elements.
But since Vincent had never told her about Ana’s elements, it probably meant others also didn’t know, so it was probably safe unless someone from the Ostrich family found out.
"Just a side effect..." Lucas didn’t think much about it.
Noticing that Michelle had three elements, he was slightly surprised, and also felt that it was a pity.
Multiple-element cultivators could usually reach higher than single-element ones.
But with weak spirit veins...
Alas... It was indeed a pity.
While Michelle kept pumping her spirit energy into the cube which in turn danced with the three colors of her elements dancing across it, Lucas concluded he had nothing more to do in the training grounds and turned to leave.
"I’ll return in a few days. Don’t die until then."
Left alone, Michelle continued pushing her spirit energy into the cube, not letting anything interrupt her.
She didn’t stop even when Alexander appeared behind her and leaned on her.
"How high do you think is the chance for you to get pulled into the space?" he asked with a smile.
Michelle glanced back at him. "How much potential would spirit energy from Spirit Spuld Blood have?"
Alexander shrugged. "It depends on how that cube perceives it."
"But there’s something more important to that cube..."
"What?" Michelle frowned.
Alexander grinned.
"If I stay like this with you and you get pulled into the space, will it take me along?"
Michelle frowned. "You’re not coming with me."
She didn’t want Alexander interfering with her training.
Alexander’s brows creased in annoyance.
But then, an idea popped in his mind: What if he did something he never did that would completely catch Michelle off guard.
Glancing back, his gaze landed on Noctis and Unlucien in the distance, and they instantly understood to disappear.
Alexander didn’t want them around, and they knew better than to stay.
Once Noctis and Unlucien were gone, Alexander started his plan.
Wrapping his hands around Michelle, he completely leaned against her, putting his whole weight on her.
The next moment, he did something that made Michelle completely forget what she was doing, even doubt her very existence.
Alexander, the Dark Lord, started whining...
"Why can’t I come with you...? Why Mishel...? Why?"
The cube fell from Michelle’s hands with a thud as she froze in place.
It took her a few seconds to process what had happened before she reacted.
Then, she reacted nearly instantly.
She pushed her elbow back to strike Alexander.
"Are you planning to make me puke?! Why are you acting so disgusting?!"
Seeing Michelle’s reaction, Alexander was quite satisfied. And to see more of it, he was willing to continue his act.
"Come on, Michelle, why don’t you want me to go with you...? Why?"
Michelle felt her skin crawl in disgust, her expression turning sour.
"Stop being a disgusting bastard!" she threw a punch at Alexander’s face.
And he didn’t dodge.
He took the punch, and once Michelle retracted her punch, used another utterly disgusting move.
"What was that for...?" he asked in a pitiful voice, touching his cheek.
Michelle nearly hurled.
The next moment, she started throwing punches at Alexander.
