The Evil Lord's Wife Has Spirit Blood-Chapter 358
After retracting her shadow essence, Michelle turned her head towards the window, seeing Alexander floating there.
Walking over, she opened the window for him.
"You couldn’t stay away for a single night?" she asked with a teasing smile, stepping away from the window.
The moment Michelle stepped away, Alexander hopped into the room.
"You didn’t miss me?" he leaned to Michelle, invading her personal space.
But, could it really be called invading if he knew she wouldn’t mind?
Michelle shrugged her shoulders.
"I was training, if you couldn’t see. So, no, I didn’t miss you."
Alexander couldn’t help but chuckle.
Reaching his hands out, he wrapped them around Michelle’s waist and pulled her against him.
"Then I will have to make sure you will miss me from now on whenever I’m not around..." as he spoke, his breath washed over Michelle.
And Michelle didn’t have her Everfrost Mantle on since it broke, which was quite a while ago.
That meant that a normal breath on her neck felt incredibly hot, making her frown.
"I definitely won’t miss you if you use your breath to burn me."
Hearing that, Alexander pulled his head away from Michelle a bit.
"Give me that coat of yours. I’ll fix it for you."
The moment Alexander said that, Michelle reached into her space and took out the Everfrost Mantle.
"Will you do it now?" she asked.
Her smile was no longer teasing.
It was clear she was genuinely happy at the thought of the mantle being fixed soon.
That just showed how annoying and constantly uncomfortable it had to be for her to not have the mantle.
And that, well, was quite obvious: she was an ice element Spirit Master, even though she was sparsely using her spirit energy to conceal her Spirit Soul Blood.
So heat was her biggest enemy and weakness.
"I’ll do it now..." Alexander took the mantle from Michelle. "But only if you give me your full attention while I fix it."
As he spoke, he gave a smile that seemed like a challenge.
Michelle either ignored the challenge, or strangely accepted it because her reaction wasn’t that of a person getting challenged.
"You will have it. I’m very much interested in how you will do it."
Alexander’s smile widened.
Holding the mantle in his hand, he walked over to the bed and sat down comfortably.
Watching Alexander closely, Michelle enjoyed seeing him concentrating.
After examining the mantle, he summoned his shadow essence and put his full focus to it.
Seeing him like that, Michelle wondered how Alexander would react if she decided to bother him.
He wasn’t yet doing much with the mantle, so even if she disturbed him, it shouldn’t cause him to mess up and accidentally ruin the whole mantle.
After thinking of the idea, Michelle decided to do it.
While Alexander was focused and wasn’t paying much attention to Michelle, she walked out of the range of his peripheral sight before walking closer to the bed.
When she got to the bed, she pushed herself right up to Alexander and put her head on his lap.
The moment Michelle touched Alexander, he froze and moved his gaze from the mantle to Michelle. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"Are you trying to have the coat never fixed?"
Michelle looked up at Alexander with a grin.
"Of course I want it fixed."
"You aren’t acting like it," Alexander narrowed his eyes.
"Then how am I acting?" Michelle asked with a teasing smile.
She for some reason felt like angering him.
Alexander’s smile turned slightly colder than usual.
It wasn’t the kind of coldness when he was angry.
But it was as dangerous.
And that danger in that coldness stirred something deep within Michelle.
Alexander moved one of his hands to tangle in Michelle’s hair.
He missed the sight of her silver locks, hidden by the disguise mask.
"You are acting like you want me to make you forget your own name..."
The moment Alexander’s words fell, for a moment, silence took over the room.
Michelle stared at Alexander, while he stared back at her, their gaze locked.
Then, after a while, Michelle spoke, her grin spreading: "That doesn’t sound all that bad."
Michelle’s words made Alexander tighten his grip on her hair.
"You should watch that mouth of yours. Or you might get something you didn’t ask for."
Feeling the pull on her hair, Michelle lifted her hands to Alexander’s neck, pressing on his Adam’s apple.
She found quite some enjoyment playing with it.
"And how do you know what I’m asking for?"
Pressing on the Adam’s apple, her nails scraped his skin.
Alexander let go of Michelle’s hair and moved his hand to grip her wrists.
"As far as I remember, now you want your coat to be fixed, don’t you?" he lowered himself to Michelle, letting his warm breath wash over her.
It was like a reminder that without the Everfrost Mantle, Michelle couldn’t even handle closeness.
Michelle let out a loud, hysterically exaggerated sigh as she sat up.
"Well, that’s just boring..."
Thinking about how the ice element was restraining her, she started thinking that maybe there was some kind of passive skill she could use to get rid of that heat sensitivity.
She really wondered how other ice element Spirit Masters handled the heat.
As far as she knew, she hadn’t met one since waking up as Michelle Grace, but that didn’t mean she didn’t pass by numerous.
They just had to know of a way to not be bothered by the heat so she didn’t notice anything; because they weren’t reacting like she was.
While Michelle sank deep into thoughts, Alexander grabbed her by her shoulders and pulled her to lay down on his lap.
When she was down, he put his hands over her and took up the Everfrost Mantle again.
Michelle quite liked that position and closed her eyes comfortably.
She was guessing she probably wouldn’t fall asleep, she wasn’t feeling tired, but it was still nice to lie down.
Or so was what Michelle thought.
But after having her body tempered by the cube’s space before being trained by Alexander and forced to fight him, her body was at its limit without her even noticing.
Quite fast, Michelle drifted off to sleep, sinking into the realm of dreams.
Michelle was the kind of person who had extremely strange dreams which didn’t make logical sense.
They defied physical laws and time and space itself, but well, those were just dreams.
And the funniest about it all was that when Michelle woke up, she could remember the flabbergasted feeling of having a shockingly strange dream, but she could never remember what really happened there.
But it wasn’t like she cared.
Dreams weren’t important to her since they made no sense.
There actually were a few times when Michelle dreamt about something real, and she remembered those, but that happened rarely and didn’t mean anything.
At most, it would help her come up with a solution for a minor problem because her mind was stubbornly stuck on it even in her dream space.
Seeing Michelle fall asleep on his lap, Alexander smiled a bit before putting his full focus on the coat in his hands.
It was in a terrible state and needed precise work to be fixed.
But Alexander was confident he could do it.
Even if it was an upgrading artifact, it was still an artifact from the lower realm, so it didn’t require that much spirit energy to be tampered with.
Of course, because it was an upgrading artifact, the amount of spirit energy it needed was more than what it would need if it was ruined before Michelle contracted it, but Alexander didn’t care.
With his shadow essence control, he could completely fool the poor artifact into taking the shadow essence as spirit energy.
Or he could create a sphere in the surroundings which would push all spirit energy into the mantle.
And then he would just use his shadow essence to manipulate it.
That option was a bit harder because in theory, two different energies couldn’t affect one another.
The only case when they could was when they were both within the same body, under the control of the body.
What Alexander was doing was far from that situation.
But, well, foolery and manipulation always worked, whether on intelligent creatures or on energies.
When pushing the shadow essence out of his body, Alexander kept the moving patterns unchanged compared to the moving patterns of the shadow essence in his body.
Like that, he quickly spread it into a sphere around himself.
Alexander had been an Armament Master for quite a while, so he knew efficient techniques to move spirit energy even though he wasn’t a Spirit Master.
He didn’t use it often, but when he did, he could achieve great goals.
As far as he knew, there were also people who thought he was a powerful Spirit Master and Armament Master, not a Shadow Master.
Naturally, those people didn’t know that Alexander was the Dark Lord.
But actually, Alexander had met those people quite a long time ago.
Last years, he had been in the Land of Exile because of the Void Plague, so he didn’t interact with the people in the heavenly realm.
And when he returned there, it was to kill off the old foggies making a mess in the Dark Palace before rearranging the Dark Palace’s ranks.
So since going to the Land of Exile, he didn’t have a chance to interact with anyone.
But Alexander didn’t miss it the least bit.
