The Evil Lord's Wife Has Spirit Blood-Chapter 363
After listening to Noctis’ explanation, Michelle had a slight frown on her face.
As far as she knew, in the lower realm, it was impossible to cultivate past the Emperor rank.
With that being the case, it seemed she would be unable to get to the heavenly realm.
Ever!
"You can go now..." Michelle waved her hand lazily, about to sink into her thoughts.
But the moment her hand moved, Noctis disappeared so quickly, it raised many surprising thoughts in her quite a bit.
"Did I do something to him?" she raised a brow.
"Or am I that scary?" she really didn’t know what was going on.
So, utterly confused, Michelle could only return to her room.
In her room, when Michelle laid down on her bed, not feeling like doing anything.
But her peace got disturbed by a strange sensation down in her stomach.
She used to be familiar with it, but it had been a long time since she had last felt it.
Her stomach was growling and felt tight.
She was actually hungry.
Logically, it made sense.
She had not eaten anything after absorbing the Life Stones, and that was weeks ago. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Also, before absorbing the Life Stones, she hadn’t eaten anything for months, since she didn’t need to.
Back then, she still had a human body and that has no need for food after reaching a certain rank.
So Michelle’s stomach had been empty for months.
But empty while also silent.
Michelle already knew that at some point, she would have to eat, but she didn’t expect it to be so soon.
She didn’t even know where in the academy was the cafeteria, because hardly any students used it, being too busy with their cultivation and studying; it wasn’t even marked on the small portable maps students had.
To find out where the cafeteria was, Michelle would have to go out and find a big map wall.
And she genuinely didn’t feel like getting out of her bed, even if she was hungry.
Instead, she decided to have someone else check for her.
Summoning a Liquid Shadow, Michelle moved it to open the window before pushing a part of the shadow out to beckon at Noctis.
Seeing his shadow, Noctis nearly instantly appeared in the window.
"Yes, Milady?" he asked.
He genuinely hadn’t been expecting to be needed again so soon.
It had been just a while since Michelle had dismissed him.
Michelle threw a vision spirit stone at Noctis.
"Find a big map somewhere outside and scan it for me. And do make sure there is the cafeteria on the map."
Noctis caught the spirit stone and disappeared.
His disappearance really made Michelle doubt herself.
Was she really all that scary?
She decided not to think about it any further.
If Noctis did it again and again to the point it would annoy her, she would confront him about it.
But that was for later.
Until then, Michelle had nothing to do and could just laze around and do absolutely nothing.
Usually, Michelle didn’t like being inactive; it was extremely boring for her.
But strangely at the moment, she didn’t mind the unproductivity and momentarily enjoyed lazing around.
Even she herself found it rather unexplainable.
In her laziness, Michelle didn’t even feel like training her Shadow Mastery, even though that was the one thing she always did when she had free time, no matter what.
So, until Noctis returned, Michelle remained motionless on the bed, not caring about anything.
When Noctis returned with the vision stone, he gave it to Michelle.
He did notice that since he had left, she had not moved a muscle, and that made him frown.
But he didn’t say anything about it and just followed in the shadows as Michelle left the room to go to the cafeteria to finally eat.
Checking the vision stone as she walked, Michelle was pleased when she found out that the cafeteria was nearby.
She quickly went there to see how things worked there.
Initially, she was expecting the cafeteria to be completely deserted, but to her surprise, it was quite busy in there.
Compared to the number of all students in the academy, there was really only a few of them, but the cafeteria was made to accommodate just that number.
Also, Michelle thought the food in the cafeteria wouldn’t be all that tempting, but she was wrong.
The ones who went to the cafeteria didn’t go there because they needed to eat; barely anyone in the academy had such a low level.
So those who went to eat there mostly did it because they found joy in eating.
And for those to keep coming, the food in the cafeteria naturally had to be at some level.
Realizing that, Michelle put some shadow essence into her shadow, so she wouldn’t stay hidden and entered, walking to the front to see the food.
Her mouth watered when the scent of seasoned meat filled her nose, and in response her stomach tightened, demanding to have something to process.
Quickly, Michelle chose some food, all containing intensely smelling meat, and took the food to a table.
After sitting down, she ate it, at first eating slowly before picking up the pace.
The food was delicious, nicely seasoned and with remnants of spirit energy.
But that couldn’t satisfy Michelle’s hunger.
The remnants of spirit energy teased her, making her hungry for more.
So though the cafeteria’s food was delicious, Michelle knew it would do her no good to eat it.
A bit sad about that, Michelle finished her plate, put it in a small window for used plates, glasses and utensils, before leaving.
Once outside, Michelle once again pulled her shadow essence back and walked through the academy, her goal clear.
The guest teacher’s residence.
In the residence, Alexander was quite annoyed, because every now and then, a teacher would come to talk to him.
It was fairly rare for the Ostrich Academy to have a guest teacher, so they were curious about who he was, especially since Alexander was brought in by Francis, supposedly.
But Alexander’s annoyance turned to relief the moment he sensed the new presence that entered the residence.
"What brings you here to me?" he walked to the doorway to look at Michelle.
Michelle walked over to Alexander, feeling like complaining, which was also another thing she never really did.
"I’m hungry..." she mumbled as she leaned against Alexander.
With Michelle against him, Alexander automatically wrapped his arms around her waist.
Pulling her along with him, he stepped into the room and closed the door behind them.
"Hungry?" That was the last thing he expected to hear, as he had yet to know that Michelle inherited the monster trait of needing to regularly eat.
Michelle nodded. "And normal food doesn’t help," she added.
Alexander was feeling a bit confused from how Michelle was acting.
He had never seen her acting like that.
Somehow, her actions resembled those of a child.
"What made you hungry?" he asked as he started moving his hand back and forth across Michelle’s back.
When Alexander’s words fell, Michelle realized he had no way of knowing about her need for food.
She wanted to tell him, but she also really didn’t feel like explaining things to him.
Michelle’s silence was something Alexander was somehow used to, and mostly understood, so he could guess that she just didn’t feel like explaining something to him.
So he knew he had to find out on his own.
Thinking back to all that Michelle had said since she came, there wasn’t all that much Alexander could conclude.
Just that unlike normal cultivators, her body required food, and normal food wasn’t normal.
The only reason Alexander could think of that would make it so Michelle’s body would act different from that of other cultivators was the fact that she had absorbed three Life Stones, basically becoming a monster, at least partially.
That made Alexander think back to all he knew about monsters, especially about how they ate.
"You need food filled with spirit energy?" he finally asked.
And Michelle nodded. "Probably..."
It was a fact that food with only remnants of spirit energy just awakened the desire for more food within her, but gave her no satisfaction.
So what Alexander came up with made sense the most.
Looking at Michelle and seeing the state she was in, Alexander knew she needed to eat as soon as possible.
She had absorbed three Life Stones, so she had traits from three monsters.
And some monsters had the trait that when hungry or starved, they would slow down, to conserve energy; Michelle’s way of acting at the moment could be explained by that.
She seemed extremely sluggish compared to normal.
But where could one get food rich in spirit energy in a place like the Ostrich Academy?
Well, that was what Alexander had Noctis and Unlucien for.
While making Michelle stay in his room and having her lie down, Alexander called the two over and gave them an order: bring either already prepared food rich in spirit energy, or hunt a beast themselves so Michelle could eat.
Being monsters themselves, the two knew how painful it could be to not eat for a long time, so they instantly set off.
They knew that if they delayed and Michelle started suffering, Alexander would later kill them.
