The Exiled Lord: My Maid is a Battle Goddess-Chapter 82: Simon’s Divine Chosen, Florine
After straightening his attire, Phield stepped out of the inn and immediately saw the waiting carriage.
"My dear Phield, how could you come to Maple Leaf City and not visit me first? I’ve missed you for so long."
A cloyingly sweet laugh drifted from the carriage. Then a graceful, seductive figure lifted the curtain.
Phield glanced over instinctively, and his mind wavered at once. Sexy—utterly, overwhelmingly sexy. He couldn’t even find the right words to describe the woman before him, whose allure seemed to seep into her very bones. Standing around one meter seventy-five, her figure was lush and opulent, easily an E-cup. With every step, her full chest trembled as if on the verge of spilling free. Her long legs were perfectly straight, and each stride sent waves of breath-stealing motion through her soft, sensual curves.
"This shouldn’t be divine charm... Just pure looks and body alone. My thinking is still intact." Phield pinched his thigh, using the pain to regain clarity.
It was the first time he had seen a woman so enchanting.
"Greetings. I am Phield, Baron of Nightfall Domain."
"Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Florine, a third-tier Divine Chosen of the Goddess of Love. Welcome to Maple Leaf City." Florine spoke slowly, languidly. "I hope we can spend countless beautiful nights together."
"Third tier..." Hearing that she was a third-tier Divine Chosen, Phield instantly sobered.
According to the records, a Divine Chosen’s strength was tied to the prosperity of their territory. It seemed that was indeed true.
Maintaining proper etiquette, Phield said, "Let’s skip the countless nights. I came here for a visit and for trade. I believe you’ve heard of the Vigor Elixir. The moment I obtained something so valuable, I thought of my old friend Simon."
"Ah? You didn’t miss me at all? How heartbreaking." Florine feigned sadness and eagerly hooked her arm through Phield’s, her snowy chest pressing tightly against his arm as she rubbed lightly against him. "Don’t listen to outside gossip. My divine skills can’t make people lose their minds."
Noticing Phield’s caution, Florine chuckled. "My divine skill is potion-making, healing, and... hehe, a little secret. If you and I ever... shared a bed, you’d know. But it’s definitely not mind control—I swear to the Goddess of Love."
"Of course I believe you." Though he said so aloud, Phield didn’t truly believe her. Even if she were telling the truth, it had nothing to do with him.
"Thank you for your trust. I prefer conquering men with my own charm, not divine power."
After a brief exchange, Phield ordered the cargo to be brought along as they headed toward Simon’s manor.
Unlike the calm outside the city, the manor was heavily guarded this time. Soldiers patrolled back and forth, and Phield even saw numerous grotesque magical beasts chained to the ground. When they noticed him, they bared their fangs, ready to attack.
"Foolish children. He is a guest—show some manners." Florine scolded lightly.
The beasts fell silent at once, lowering their heads in pitiful submission.
"Lord Phield, you should also be careful. There have been frequent murders recently. Not only commoners and merchants, even nobles have been targeted." Florine pouted in irritation. "Those damned Cultists... I can’t understand what goes on in their heads. Isn’t enjoying life better?"
"I can’t understand them either." Phield shrugged. "That’s why they’re called Cultists—they exist to cause trouble."
...
"Hello, my dear brother! Forgive me for not coming to greet you earlier. Things have been chaotic lately. You didn’t run into trouble on the way, did you?"
The moment they reached the entrance, Simon came running out in slippers, his heavy steps thudding loudly. He looked like he had just reunited with a long-lost brother, grabbing Phield’s hand tightly.
Being gripped so firmly and stared at so affectionately made Phield’s lips twitch. He resisted the urge to slap this pervert to death and forced a smile. "Baron Simon, it must be fate that allowed me to escape the Northern Province once more and receive your welcome."
"Come in, come in!" Simon looked equally moved as he pulled Phield inside.
Seeing Simon, Phield’s tension gradually eased.
After all, the gold he carried for trade was only a few thousand—barely half a day’s tax revenue for a large city. Killing him openly made no sense. If anyone wanted him dead, it would be through assassination, not public action. Even the slightest rumor of harming a noble would give other nobles an excuse to tear the culprit apart.
Still, Phield knew Simon’s emotional display was fake. The man’s schemes were obvious at a glance.
That was the silent understanding between nobles.
"I just bought twenty demi-human dancers. I’m sure you’ll like them." Simon winked knowingly. "Last time you didn’t have enough fun—it was my mistake. When I heard you had a demi-human maid, I immediately understood your preferences."
"Your sincerity could make even the Goddess weep," Phield sighed.
If only you could gift me twenty uncontracted Divine Chosen instead.
"Of course. I always treat people sincerely."
Simon spoke with simple honesty, then clapped his hands. Two maids wearing nothing but gemstone lingerie stepped forward.
So-called gemstone lingerie meant only the most critical areas were covered by jewels... a peculiar little hobby of Simon’s.
"The dishes I requested—bring out the highest-tier selection."
"My lord, the chefs are still preparing them. They’ll be ready soon."
Phield replied politely, "Baron Simon, there’s no need for such extravagance. Your goodwill is enough. You understand me—I pursue only battle and glory. This visit is merely to bring you a gift and conduct trade."
At the mention of gifts and trade, Simon’s face lit up like the sun. Leaning closer, he whispered, "It’s the Vigor Elixir, right? Please tell me it is. When Florine told me about it, do you know how happy I was?"
Beside him, Florine smiled gently, tilting her head like a virtuous wife.
It seemed Simon had been troubled for a long time by his lack of stamina in bed.
Beyond that, Phield noticed something unusual. Simon’s control over Maple Leaf City was absurdly strong. Despite hiding in his manor all day indulging in pleasure, he learned about Phield’s demi-human maid and the Vigor Elixir within hours.
Perhaps Simon’s internal governance was far stronger than it appeared—or he possessed an exceptionally powerful intelligence network.
"Never underestimate anyone," Phield warned himself silently.
The thought passed in an instant. Aloud, he said seriously, "Of course. Not just the Vigor Elixir, but also Vital Essence Oil—and a special gift for you. They belong to the same category, but yours is of the highest grade."
"You are my most honored guest, Phield!" Simon trembled with excitement, his face and belly jiggling. "Let me see the gift! I can’t wait!"
"Easy, Simon. The dishes are here. Don’t neglect our guest—we can talk while eating."
The three took their seats according to noble etiquette. Simon sat at the head and said, "Though I didn’t host a ball, I can guarantee this feast is the finest."
True to his word.
Before the main course, a sculptural dessert was brought out.
A lifelike mermaid sat upon a reef, poised as if singing.
"A sculpted dessert?"
Phield had heard of such pre-meal sweets—almond paste, pastries, and dairy crafted into elaborate figures, often shaped like auspicious animals or scenes from myth.
"Yes. And this—have a drink. It’s nutritious." 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Florine took a jar from a maid and poured a glass of milk for Phield.
"It’s been a long time since I’ve had milk." Phield genuinely wanted to taste it. The goat milk in Nightfall Domain was nutritious but too gamey. He took a large sip. "Fragrant... this milk suits my taste perfectly."
Florine frowned slightly, looking puzzled. "Hm? Milk doesn’t usually taste like this. This was... expressed by me. It has a bit of a human scent, doesn’t it?"
"Pff—!"
Phield couldn’t hold it in and spat it out.
"Hahaha~" Florine covered her mouth, laughing wickedly. "Just joking. It’s real milk. You can visit the ranch yourself if you like."
Right... what kind of outrageous statement was that? I know someone named Rosalia—you two would probably get along very well.
Speechless, Phield wiped his mouth with a handkerchief and joked back, "Ah, what a pity."
"Hey, hey, I’m still here!" Simon tapped the table lightly, feigning annoyance though he was grinning. He instructed the maids, "Pour us some wine—Starnight wine."
Florine narrowed her eyes and chided sweetly, "You shouldn’t drink so much. You get drunk after just a little."
Phield immediately imagined certain familiar plotlines.
The husband gets drunk, and the guest and the wife begin an intimate display right in front of him.
Then pregnancy, then the "son" inherits Maple Leaf Territory.
Yeah, right. Simon wasn’t that stupid.
Better not drink.
As Phield thought this, he suddenly felt movement beneath the table—something resting against his leg.
"Hm? Seduction already?"
Phield smirked.
He quietly ate a bite of pastry. Just as he reached for another, someone lightly nudged his leg again.
"Tch... playing this boldly, huh? I’m not afraid." Phield wasn’t one to back down. He extended his leg in response.
"Hm?" Florine’s body trembled. She instinctively squeezed her legs together, then looked at Phield with eyes that were three parts confusion and seven parts tenderness, as though indulging a mischievous lover. She glanced at Simon as well.
"Heh... daring to provoke me." Phield began to shake his leg slightly. Florine lowered her head, smiling faintly.
Yet what shocked Phield was that another leg suddenly kicked him lightly.
Then again.
And again.
"???"
Even if you’re a Divine Chosen, you shouldn’t have four legs... what are you, a crab?!
