Pietro shook his head frantically, utterly disbelieving what Jennifer said.

"Could it be that the person with us was a corpse? And a corpse that had just gotten a girlfriend, at that?"

"Of course, you can choose not to believe it!" Jennifer casually shrugged, then pulled a few photographs from a file and tossed them in front of the three of them.

"How... How is this possible?!"

Looking at the photos of Sam's body, taken from various angles, Pietro and the others had no choice but to accept that Sam had been dead for a long time.

"These are photos taken by the forensic examiner. And, of course, there's a detailed autopsy report!"

"But... he was standing right there in front of us, talking to us, even playing... playing games with us?"

As if a horrifying thought struck them, Pietro and the others suddenly went limp, slumping into their chairs.

"Figured it out?" Jennifer asked, seeing their dawning comprehension, and sighed almost imperceptibly.

"You must understand, the Bizarre come in all shapes and forms! They can transform into any form, even possess human bodies, and do whatever they want! Without an experienced Exorcist, it's difficult for ordinary humans to identify them in a crowd! And, of course, the most crucial point: Sam's body has already vanished without a trace from the police station!"

Upon hearing this last statement, Monte and the others shuddered.

"So... the Sam we met earlier was a corpse controlled by the Bizarre?"

"That's right! And its purpose was most likely to draw you into this game," Jennifer nodded slightly, affirming their words.

"Xie Te!" the three of them exclaimed, their faces turning even paler.

Being targeted by a Bizarre was indeed nothing to be happy about.

"By the way, how many of you participated in that game?"

"Including Sam... a total of eight."

"Eight people... So, seven living individuals joined this Bizarre game," Jennifer murmured, nodding. "Do you still remember the order of the game?"

"Order?" Hearing this, Pietro and the others exchanged glances. "Let me think... Daster was first, and then..."

"It was Legley!" Camille and Monte declared in unison, quite certain.

"I was third, Camille should be fourth, Pietro fifth, and as for sixth..." Monte said slowly, trying to recall, "but I'm still a bit hazy about the rest."

"Lilia was next to Sam, so Michelle was sixth!"

With Camille's input, the complete game order was finally clear to them.

"Okay. So that's the order in which the game will target you again." Jennifer showed the list she had jotted down to the three of them, looking quietly into their eyes.

"What? Doesn't that mean it'll be my turn soon?" Monte's fingers trembled at the thought. He suddenly felt as if danger lurked everywhere around him.

"Jennifer, the Agency can protect us, right?"

Looking at their hopeful gazes, Jennifer hesitated for a moment before saying apologetically, "I'm sorry. We've tried to find this Bizarre's true form, but it's proven too elusive!"

Just as Monte and the others were at a loss for words, the door to the reception room was pushed open again.

A staff member carrying a file quickly walked over to Jennifer.

"Ma'am, this is..."

The staff member whispered a few words in Jennifer's ear, left the file, and then hurriedly departed the reception room.

After glancing through the document, Jennifer shook her head slightly and looked back at them.

"Unfortunately, I have some bad news for you. The second person in the game's order, Ms. Legley, has just been confirmed to have died from a fall."

This sudden news threw the already distraught trio into even greater disarray.

"Legley is dead! Then I'm next, aren't I?"

A fine layer of cold sweat broke out on Monte's forehead as frantic thoughts whirled through his mind.

What should I do? What in the world should I do?

With his life under threat, Monte had long since lost any semblance of calm.

And as he racked his brain to no avail, a placid face suddenly flashed through his mind.

"Mr. Chu Feng!" Monte's eyes suddenly lit up, and he turned sharply to Jennifer. "Can we ask Mr. Chu Feng for help?"

"Mr. Chu Feng?" Jennifer paused at the suggestion, then shook her head slightly. "The information on this Bizarre game has already been reported to the New York Exorcism Agency headquarters. As for whether Mr. Chu Feng will intervene, we don't know either."

No, I can't just give up like this! Monte didn't despair upon hearing Jennifer's words; instead, his resolve hardened.

He took out his phone and headed for the door. To save himself, he had to contact someone. Someone he thought he would never be in touch with again.

"Hey! Where are you going? You can't go off on your own right now!" Pietro yelled anxiously, seeing Monte's rapidly retreating figure.

But Monte, his attention entirely fixed on his phone's screen, completely ignored Pietro's shouts.

RING... RING... RING...

Listening to the ringing from his phone, Monte grew increasingly anxious.

Li Mi, please pick up!

"Hello? Who are you trying to reach?"

After a dozen or so seconds, a female voice he would never forget came through the phone, causing the corners of his mouth to lift slightly in an unconscious smile.

"Li Mi, it's Monte!"

"Monte?" Li Mi, who was working at the New York Exorcism Agency, furrowed her brow slightly at the sound of his voice.

Hasn't he given up yet?

Her brow still furrowed, Li Mi's voice instantly turned cold. "Monte, I think... I made myself very clear last time..."

"No, no, no!" Monte quickly interrupted her. "I'm calling to ask for help!"

"Asking for help? Uh... go on," Li Mi replied, slightly stunned.

Her mind raced; she really couldn't think of how she could possibly help him.

"Here's the situation..."

After Monte's explanation, Li Mi finally understood the purpose of the call.

So, his ultimate aim wasn't me after all.

Considering they were former classmates, and that Monte was also acquainted with Chu Feng, she hesitated for a moment before finally agreeing to help.

"Alright. I'll try to inform Mr. Chu Feng about this."

Monte had only guessed that Li Mi might have Chu Feng's contact information, but he hadn't expected her to agree so readily.

It seems her reason for moving to New York was indeed what I suspected... But that's none of my concern anymore!

"Thank you, Li Mi! I'm so grateful for your..."

Before Monte could finish his words of gratitude, the other end of the phone went silent.

The next second, a Bizarre voice reached his ears.

"Monte, truth or dare?"
