All the students of Class 3A were currently standing, staring at the King with surprise written on their faces.

They were still wondering what the King meant by screening, but now that he had explained it, they understood.

Still, the fact that the King believed a Vampire was in the Academy—or rather, in the city—was shocking to most of them. But, well, he was the King. Who could question him?

No one!

Rowan slowly walked towards the boy at the far end of the class. "Okay, I'll start with you."

"The process won't take long, and it is not painful at all," he added.

The boy trembled as he nodded his head.

Meanwhile, Arin was still immensely shocked by what the King had said.

'What does this mean? Am I in trouble?' he thought.

'No... Don't panic yet... It won't be any good.'

Arin tried to calm himself, but he was struggling to do so.

This was the same situation he had found himself in and the same emotions he had felt when he got the system notification about the author continuing the story.

He didn't even know which was more worth panicking over.

'Leaving the class isn't an option,' Arin thought. 'That'll make him even more suspicious.'

Arin was confused, but he had managed to keep a cool head, at least.

'I'll just wait to see how he'll do it... Maybe I might be able to maneuver it.'

At that moment, Arin remembered that his Blood Energy was covered with his Mana. That was why he was even able to walk in the sun without any pain or discomfort and also why he retained his original appearance.

'Will that be able to save me?'

He didn't know if the King would be able to sense his Blood Energy even though it was hidden, but for now, he was depending on that.

'I hope it works...'

After making sure the boy was relaxed, Rowan placed his hand on the boy's stomach and squinted his eyes, making it slightly obvious that he had begun doing something.

The boy looked at Rowan's hand with a frightful expression, but within seconds, Rowan had already removed his hand.

With a smile on his face, he said, "You can sit down."

The boy nodded his head frantically before sitting.

With that, Rowan moved to the next person.

Inside an office, Orion was seated on the chair with an indifferent expression as he tapped his fingers rapidly on the table.

On the other side of the table, another chair was present, and a lady was seated on it.

She had long black hair that was fluttering elegantly, and she folded her arms, leaning back on the chair.

Her eyes were closed, adding some kind of mystery to her.

It was the Assistant Principal.

Her closed eyes darted towards Orion's fingers that were tapping the table rapidly, then her eyes darted towards his face again.

"Are you sure you are not worried?" she asked, her voice low and soothing at the same time, like a melody.

Orion stared at her. "No, I'm not. I believe my expression says it all."

The Assistant Principal chuckled as she leaned forward, looking at Orion as if she could actually see him even though her eyes were closed.

"Your expression shows that you aren't even bothered, but..."

She paused, glancing at his fingers before she continued.

"Your current action is saying otherwise."

She leaned back in her chair before adding, "Your aura reeks of nervousness, Orion."

Orion frowned lightly and sighed. "I guess I can't hide it from you."

"But why exactly are you nervous?" she instantly asked. "It's not like there's a Vampire hidden among the students."

"Or is there?" she added as her lips curled up into a smirk.

"No, there isn't," Orion said, still tapping his fingers on the table, creating a certain rhythm.

"But which principal wouldn't be nervous when the King is in their Academy?" he added.

"Hmm, that's valid," she said, crossing her legs.

Orion's frown deepened. "Do you really think this is a sign of another war?"

The Assistant Principal tilted her head. "We really cannot tell. It might be a sign, and it also might not be a sign at the same time."

"Tch..." Orion clicked his tongue in annoyance. "I hate being confused like this."

"It'll be fine, Orion," she said as she stood up and began walking towards the door.

"You said you had something important to do, right?" Orion asked.

"Yes, that's what I'm going to do now," she said.

With that, she left the office, leaving Orion inside.

Orion sighed as he stared outside through the window.

"She's strange..." he muttered. "But I don't know where I would have been without her."

*********

Inside the class, more than half of the students were already seated after Rowan did what he needed to do.

There was no issue yet, and everything was going smoothly.

Though, Arin's mind had once again entered disarray. He had never been this confused before.

He had also managed to make eye contact with Riya, but this time, he didn't even know what to ask her.

'I won't blame her. She doesn't know that I'm a Vampire, that's why she thought there was nothing to worry about and that it wasn't too serious.'

After a few more minutes, Rowan had screened almost everyone, including Alex and Tessa.

It was remaining Arin, Leon, and a few other students.

Rowan was now attending to the girl seated next to Leon, and in a few seconds, it would be his turn.

'That's also not good,' Arin thought.

Leon had Dark Energy in him that was covered with his Mana. So, basically, if the King found out, Leon would be in a huge mess.

In fact, he could be mistaken for a Vampire. Well, he also wasn't human, so either way, he would certainly be deemed an intruder and instantly be killed.

'Shit... I have a very bad feeling that even with our Mana covering the other Energy, the King will still be able to find out,' Arin thought.

But just when he was about to plunge deeper into confusion, someone suddenly stepped into the class.

The eyes of the King and the other students instantly darted towards the door.

The Assistant Principal lowered her head. "Greetings, my King."

The King nodded, gesturing for her to raise her head. Though, he was wondering why her eyes were closed.

"I am here to get two students. Arin Vale and Leon Stormheart," she said, going straight to the point.

Arin instantly furrowed his brows. 'Huh?'

He was wondering what this unknown lady possibly wanted from him and Leon.

The students, including Arin, didn't even know that they had an Assistant Principal, so they all didn't know this woman.

And she also wasn't mentioned in the novel.

'It's not like the King would allow us to leave anyway,' Arin thought, already predicting Rowan's answer.

But to his surprise and that of everyone present in the class...

"Okay, you can take them with you."

A frown instantly appeared on Riya's face as she glanced at Arin, wondering what was going on and also surprised by the King's answer.

But the Assistant Principal's voice instantly cut them out from their thoughts.

"Let's go immediately," she said, her voice stern.

Due to the urgency in her voice, Arin and Leon instantly walked out of the classroom, following her from behind.

They didn't even say anything and were just occupied with their thoughts.

'This is suspicious... Why me and Leon?' Arin thought. 'Something is definitely wrong.'

Leon was also thinking the same thing. Both of them glanced at each other and nodded, not saying anything.

Finally, they got to the building where all the offices of the teachers were located, and they followed her to the second floor before arriving at a door that didn't have any name on it, unlike the other doors that had the name of the teacher it belonged to on it.

'How is she even seeing with her eyes closed?' Arin thought.

They entered the office, and the Assistant Principal instantly sat down on her chair and gestured for Arin and Leon to also sit.

After they sat down, the lady stared at them with her closed eyes and crossed her legs.

"I'll go straight to the point," she said in her soothing voice.

But what she said next was like a bomb that dropped on both Arin and Leon at the same time.

"Arin Vale and Leon Stormheart. Both of you have been expelled from Greenfield Academy."
