The Extra's Advent: My Villainess Fiancée is a Yandere-Chapter 37: An Old Legend [4]
Cael didn’t hesitate. He immediately activated the partial buff of his new S-Rank skill, Battle Reaper’s Dominion.
Instantly, Cael felt different.
His nerves relaxed, and his mind became calm and clear.
Taking a deep breath, he said,
"Let’s get this started."
Cael instantly moved toward the old man. Drawing his sword, he slashed forward, cutting the old man in two.
Cael frowned.
The old man’s body turned into sand.
"Earth element?"
Cael immediately copied the skill the old man had used.
Then suddenly, several mages launched spells toward Cael.
Of course, Cael wasn’t going to wait and take a beating like before.
He moved away swiftly.
Cael’s sword flashed as blood sprayed across the stone floor.
Each sword strike claimed a life.
He didn’t even overthink anymore.
His body moved instinctively as he dodged the incoming attacks.
His mind calmly analyzed every pattern and opening.
With wind enhancing his speed, Cael moved like a true devil.
The remaining rankers hesitated.
Seeing his subordinates being slaughtered, the old man reappeared and attacked Cael, sending three earth spikes toward him.
Cael had just killed another Silver ranker.
Without even looking back, he slashed his sword through the air.
A compressed wind blade shot forward, tearing through the earth spikes before cutting the old man in two once again.
And just like before, the old man turned into sand.
"Tch."
Cael clicked his tongue in annoyance.
Screams and blood followed.
Then he killed the last person in the room, thrusting his sword straight through the opponent’s heart.
Cael deactivated the skill buff and drank a mana potion to recover his energy.
Not because of the fight, but rather due to swapping places with the clone, had consumed half of his mana.
But unexpectedly, because of the skill buff, he had actually saved mana during the battle.
Without the buff, Cael might have spent far more mana killing this many opponents.
Although the buff itself consumed mana, the cost was low enough to make it worthwhile.
Cael wasn’t afraid of the old man. But he was cautious.
And that so-called "god" was still somewhere around.
So, Cael decided to be extra careful.
He took out his microphone and said,
"Guys, I could use a hand, you know."
Instantly, Luke’s voice came through.
He was practically shouting.
"Cael, you bastard! Why aren’t you responding to the calls?"
Cael raised an eyebrow.
"Well, I was found by—"
He didn’t get to finish.
"I’ll be there in two minutes," Luke interrupted.
"Just don’t do anything crazy and hide."
With that, Luke cut the call.
Cael loosened his grip on his sword slightly and muttered,
"So, I have two minutes to kill that old man."
"Ugh... life sure is tough, huh."
Cael had no intention of letting the old man escape.
After all, that old man had already seen Cael’s abnormality when he swapped places with his clone.
If Luke captured him and the geezer started talking about it...
That would be a little annoying.
It didn’t take long for Cael to find the old man.
He was waiting outside, surrounded by the remaining civilians and vampires.
"Tch."
Cael hesitated when he saw the innocent people staring blankly at him.
He thought about using his new SS-Rank skill.
By using it, Cael might be able to sever the connection between these people and the mastermind hiding in the dark.
But doing so would also alert that mastermind.
It would reveal that Cael possessed a skill capable of breaking the connection.
Cael didn’t want that.
Killing them...
That was a bit too much.
"Aren’t you ashamed?"
"Hiding behind civilians when you are stronger than me."
Cael said, his tone dripping with mockery as he looked at the old man.
Even though Cael’s words weren’t entirely false, they weren’t exactly true either.
The old man’s body reached the age limit; no one can escape the time.
Although he was indeed a Gold ranker, his combat prowess was weaker than that of Silver rankers.
If it is just pure strength, he might be weaker than Bronze rankers.
The geezer’s face darkened, but he said nothing.
Just then, one of the civilians suddenly spoke.
"Time is near... hasten the plan."
Hearing their god’s command, the old man immediately shouted,
"Everyone! Kill the devil and bring salvation to the dead!"
This confirmed Cael’s guess.
The mastermind could indeed see, hear, and control the people.
Cael refrained from using teleportation; he didn’t want Mastermind to know about this skill either. Who knows, Cael could surprise the mastermind using this skill.
If that "god" could see through these civilians, any sudden move might be anticipated.
The civilians rushed toward Cael all at once.
Men, women, and even children charged forward with empty expressions, their red eyes fixed on him.
Cael clicked his tongue.
"Seriously..."
He lowered his stance as wind began gathering around his body.
The first civilian reached him.
Cael moved. His figure blurred as he slipped past the man, striking the back of his neck with the hilt of his sword.
The man collapsed instantly.
Another person lunged.
Cael stepped aside and swept his leg, kicking the attacker away before the others could surround him.
"Ugh... this is annoying."
Cael slowly backed away, deliberately drawing the civilians farther from the old man.
Once he noticed that no one was watching the old man anymore, Cael inwardly smiled.
Then, suddenly, several attacks from the civilians connected with Cael.
But their blows passed straight through him.
Moonlight illusion.
Before the vampires or the old man could comprehend what had happened,
Cael emerged from the old man’s shadow.
The old man’s eyes widened.
Cael’s sword moved instantly.
’Concentrated Wind Slash.’
—Puhhff—
The old man’s head separated cleanly from his body.
This time, he was truly dead.
Blood splashed across Cael’s face and stained his clean shirt.
For a moment, the battlefield fell silent.
Then Cael slowly turned toward the vampires standing behind the civilians.
A grin spread across his face.
"Let’s get this over with."
