The Female Cannon Fodder With Boundless Merits-Chapter 1344 - 357: The Eldest Sister as Mother (Part 1)
In her past life, after having a successful career in the business world for half of her life, Su Li devoted all her attention to philanthropic work as she grew older.
When she left that small world, a vast Merit Golden Light entered the stone bead, reviving the dormant, devout followers, which greatly boosted Su Li’s spirits. Once again, she couldn’t wait to delve into a new small world.
After rising from the chair, feeling her head as heavy as if embedded with stones, she noticed her vision was slightly veiled in red and double-shadowed.
Closing her eyes, a cool breeze washed over her eyelids. After a moment, reopening her eyes, she felt much better.
The original owner had been exhausted, collapsing onto the wooden table to sleep, and the awkward sleeping posture made her current body ache all over as if beaten.
Raising her head, she saw a plastic mirror on the adjacent standing cabinet, its gaudy, bright red exuding a cheapness, with an old-time celebrity’s picture printed on its back.
Looking directly, a small face, the size of a palm, appeared clearly in the mirror, her eyes red like a rabbit’s, and her sallow complexion full of fatigue.
Through the door and window, she could see the disorganized and yet-to-be-tidied yard outside.
The Su Family had just finished holding a funeral not long ago.
Having retained the original owner’s memories, Su Li thought for a moment and knew which point in time she had arrived at.
This was shortly after the original owner had just turned eighteen, and the once-prosperous family had just encountered a devastating blow.
Mr. Su and Mrs. Su were returning by ox cart, taking a shortcut in their haste, only to encounter a bear, which took them both away.
In the middle of the night, with their son and daughter-in-law not yet returned, the elderly Su couple, worried, took a flashlight out to search, only to meet their doom as well.
It wasn’t until daybreak that passing villagers discovered traces of already dried blood in the mountain recess.
By the time they found the bodies, the Su Family was already half-mutilated.
All the elders of the Su Family met misfortune, leaving only five half-grown children... and a debt.
The ox cart Mr. Su and Mrs. Su traveled in was borrowed from the brigade, being communal property.
Having encountered the bear, the poor old ox wasn’t spared either.
Though the Su Family was pitiful, the loss of communal property still needed compensation, and the Su Family, with only a few children left, had to pay, albeit with reduced compensation thanks to the Village Secretary’s efforts to protect them.
Yet for the Su Family, now devoid of elders, it was still a significant debt.
After paying, the money left by Su Family’s parents was nearly exhausted, and coupled with the costs of the elders’ funerals...
After everything was settled, their savings dwindled to less than one hundred yuan.
Unfortunately, some people’s hearts were wicked to the extreme.
Previously, the Su couple had been hardworking and capable, and their family’s condition was quite good in the village. They had just finished building a large tile-roof house, the first in the village, which made many people envious.
Now, before the corpses were even cold, those Su Family relatives schemed, one after another appearing with fabricated IOUs, demanding repayment from the original owner.
Struck by the loss of loved ones and pressed by relatives who used to be addressed as uncle or aunt, the original owner, just a sixteen-year-old girl, was forced to grow up overnight.
Just a few days ago, the Su family’s elders had been buried, and yesterday, the original owner chased those so-called relatives with a broom all across a long street, making a laughing stock for the other villagers.
Without parents or elders, the original owner, as the eldest, became the family’s backbone.
Because the younger siblings, the oldest just eight, and the youngest pair of dragon-phoenix twins only four, were all reliant on her.
These little, tender buds probably didn’t even understand what death meant, except for the eight-year-old second brother Su Qing.
The eldest sister had to play the mother...
But, that was the original owner’s belief and approach in her past life; now, it was Su Li’s turn, a bad girl who wouldn’t think twice about snatching a lollipop from a kid, her dictionary void of compassion for the weak, she’d never harbor such frightening thoughts.
Whimpering, who wouldn’t know? She’s still a baby herself.
Coincidentally, the original owner had no such demands either.
She had poured her heart out for her four siblings her whole life, only to receive complaints and misunderstanding in return.
Thinking of the original owner’s siblings, Su Li’s Divine Thought unfurled like a flowing stream.
In the adjacent room, on the large pallet bed, several young children lay sprawled out, fast asleep with carefree faces.
Her Divine Thought lingered over the children for a few seconds, and just as it was about to retreat, Su Li suddenly captured a massive spatial fluctuation.
Rippling Lianyi appeared and vanished in a second, causing the children’s eyelids on the pallet bed to twitch as they murmured and awakened.
"Interesting." Su Li’s lips curled slightly.
-------------
In another room, a groggy Su Qing, Su Mo, Su Bing, and Su Nian awoke, glancing at their miniaturized siblings, their eyes couldn’t hide the shock.
Their wide eyes, playing a game of who can stare bigger at each other, until Su Qing, the oldest, broke the strange situation.
"Say, you must all be like me, right?"
Su Qing’s words were nonsensical, yet the others seemed to understand, nodding frantically.
Eye contact confirmed, they were all the same.
Su Qing frowned at his short arms and legs, his serious and rigid expression like the calm before a storm.
But such an overly mature and worldly expression, on a small child, appeared utterly ludicrous and comical.
"It seems that explosion packed us all back to the past...." Su Mo said with a heavy heart.
"Just not sure if it was an accident or intentional, wanting to catch us siblings all in one net?" Su Bing’s remark made the others narrow their eyes, Su Qing’s eyes flashed with a fierce glint, "If it was intentional, I will certainly make them regret coming into this world at all."
Su Qing, as if possessed by Long Aotian, proclaimed with a domineering and cold vow, chest out.
Listening through the wall, Su Li: "...." Pfft, almost burst out laughing like a goose.
Su Bing’s clear voice joined the discussion: "Our four siblings only managed to come together like this once, and now.... Not many knew of our gathering, the scope can be narrowed...."
"Hey, perhaps you’ve forgotten, we’ve shrunk, what was the time frame again?"
The small Su Nian coldly reminded, causing the other three to begrudgingly recall that their discussion was entirely meaningless, as if, they couldn’t return even if they discussed further.
"Second brother, do you remember anything from childhood?"
