Chapter 68: Preparation for the School Festival Part 2

After making sure that the cheesecake could be keep at room temperature, Razé teleported the bag to her room. Needless to say, she had no intention to share it with Adis. Hugh had said that it was for her, so she had the right to choose whether she wanted to share it with others or not. She planned to share it with her angel and goddess, so she shouldn’t be considered as stingy.

She cleared up her idle thoughts and looked down at her arm which was grabbed by Adis.

“Excuse me, Adis-sama.” After calling his name, she suddenly noticed that she used to call him Zars-sama. She wondered when she had changed the way she called him. Anyway, calling him by his family name was weird because she also interacted with his father too, so maybe it was better this way. She watched him and felt that their friendship had leveled up after staying at this academy for two years, seeing now that they could even casually invite each other for a meal.

Adis: “What is it?”

Razé: “It’s hard to walk like this. Besides, it’s faster to use teleportation.”

After saying those words, she promptly teleported the two of them to the dining hall. Adis turned at her with a stunned face.

Adis: “Can you please inform me first before using teleportation?”

Razé: “I did.”

Adis: “You didn’t confirm it with me.”

Adis sighed again.

Adis: “Is your magic has no limit? Don’t you get tired using magic for everything?”

Using magic stones was similar like using a computer. It might take some time to start up, and you might not be able to start another program immediately. Using a computer for a long time would cause the CPU to heat up. Similarly, activating magic stone for a prolonged time would burden the user’s brain. Worst case scenario, the user could die.

Razé: “A simple magic won’t tire me. Anyway, let’s hurry up and eat. I’m hungry.”

She made it sounded like a small matter and brushed it off. For her, this level of magic was like a walk in the park. She wouldn’t feel tired. She looked at the displayed menu while contemplating what to eat.

Razé: “Okay. I’m going to eat curry today! Adis-sama, what about you?”

Adis: “I’ll choose ramen.”

Ramen…. I used to think that this world has an incoherent culture. But once I know that this is a world from an otome game, everything makes sense.

Razé looked at the Western, Japanese, and Chinese dishes lined up in the displayed menu as she went inside.

There weren’t many students eating because it was long past the lunch hour, but surprisingly there were not many empty seats. Most of the students there were having discussion for the school festivals.

The two brought their food and sat at an empty table. Razé watched the otome game cast who was really good at using chopstick as he slurped the tonkotsu ramen.

She instinctively stared at him, feeling it was an impressive sight. She felt he was breathtakingly good-looking. When she first saw him, she didn’t want to approach him because she felt the father and son were like two peas in a pod. But when she looked closer now, she felt his mouth was similar to Vanessa and realized that he wasn’t that similar to that Grim Reaper.

Adis: “It’s hard for me to eat if you keep staring at me.”

Razé: “Oh, sorry. I just thought that you look like your mother.”

Adis widened his eyes in surprise.

Adis: “People always say that I look like my father. This is the first time someone told me that I look like my mother.”

Razé: “The shape of your face is similar to His Excellency but your face parts are similar to the Invisible War Maiden.”

Adis: “… Are you a fan of my parents?”

Razé realized that she had said too much and tried to shrug off this topic. “Fan? I don’t think you can call it a fan. They are important figure supporting this country. I respect both of them.”

She continued to eat her curry after saying those words. Well, I actually know both of them very well. Your father is my direct superior anyway.

Razé wondered how he would react when he found out that she knew his parents very well.

Adis: “… By the way, my mother said she wants to meet you. She asked me to invite you to my house this winter holiday.”

Cough, cough. Razé almost choked on her food.

Adis thought she was scared about her status, so he immediately explained, “I told her that you’re my friend. My parents won’t look down on other people, and they won’t make you feel uncomfortable. Why don’t you come? Of course, you can also bring Lady Carna along. Well, I’m not forcing you. You have the right to refuse too.”

Do I have the right to refuse an invitation from Vanessa-sama? I don’t think so!

Razé felt that Vanessa did it on purpose. She was certain that she invited her through Adis for some reason. She drank water to calm her heart down.

Razé: “Well, if it’s not too much trouble, then I’d be glad to…”

Adis: “We are the one who invite you, how can we say you’re troubling us? I’ll inform her then. I’ll remind you again later before the holiday.”

Razé: “Okay. After the school festival, then it will be the winter holiday. Time really does fly.”

Adis: “Hmm. You’re right.”

Just like the Battle Fiesta in summer, they will have holiday before the winter tournament. Time went by quickly. The winter season, which determined Carna’s fate, was just around the corner.

According to the plot of the otome game, Carna-sama would turn into strange beast[1] during the winter tournament and goes out of control.

Razé was reminded of the upcoming major event. “… I wonder until when can I remain like this…”

It was an unavoidable event. Given the circumstances, she had to be prepared to accomplish her mission. Perhaps they would find out her identity. Even worse, there was a possibility that her life would be jeopardized.

Adis: “What do you mean?”

Adis has a serious look on his face after hearing her said those words in a serious tone. He noticed her voice was unusually sad.

Razé: “No, it’s nothing. Well… I just thought that everyone would be busy planning their career.”

Actually, she had a feeling that she would leave this academy once the winter tournament was over.

Adis: “Even if we become a 3rd Year student, I don’t think there’ll be much changes. You’re a scholarship student, and you’ll continue to support Lady Carna, right?”

Hearing those unexpected words, she raised her head and looked at his face. Adis was eating ramen with an indifferent air.

Continue to support… She wondered if that was how he saw her. She felt a bit embarrassed hearing such opinion from the perspective of an outsider.

“I hope so,” Razé said and smiled shyly at Adis.

Adis froze when he saw her smile.

[1] The raw used 怪物 (lit. strange thing) instead of 怪獣 (kaiju). Since Razé already mentioned about the demonic mutation, I will use the word ‘strange beast’ for her. ↩
