The First Cultivator - Changing Existence-Chapter 851: This... Thing -
Chapter 851: This... Thing - 851
This power wouldn’t be like the Power of Cultivation, the Power of Death, the Power of Karma, or any such things. It would be more accurate to call it a type of technique. But the techniques would tap into an entirely separate power, which was the Power of Divination.
Even more time passed.
Eventually, Zhou Fan pinched his fingers together.
"The Hidden Being."
Within moments, his vision changed, and in his mind appeared the hidden being, the one who did not have a name and almost nobody in the Universe knew about, despite it being a False Immortal.
It looked back at Zhou Fan.
Before, Zhou Fan had needed a lot of time to find this being, but using the Power of Divination, he was able to spot it within moments.
And that wasn’t all. Using the Power of Divination, he looked through time and space, to the very moment when this being was born.
During a Solar Eclipse on a large planet, countless beings began to perform a dark ritual. Trillions of lives were sacrificed, mortals and cultivators alike.
Some were as low as the Qi Gathering realm, while others were at the peak of the Outer World realm. All of them slowly turned into ashes, forming a black tornado larger than even some galaxies. Eventually, there was no other living being on this entire planet.
The black ashes formed a figure in front of the solar eclipse. An unholy being, its body entirely black. It assumed humanoid form, but could transform at will. Its hands were sharpened like swords, and its eyes were the only thing on its body not pitch black. They had an eerie yellow glow.
This being’s creation was mostly an accident. The formation used to sacrifice the beings had been to summon a "god". In this planet’s mythology, the "god" would descend after all lives were sacrificed. Naturally, countless beings among the trillion had not wanted to die, but the strongest beings in the world had not given them a choice. They had used this formation, which in itself was a complete deception. It was simply above the level of the Outer World realm cultivators’ understanding, which was a big part in why they had made the decision to do so at all.
The other decision was naturally a giant space creature in the Sage realm about to devour their entire planet whole.
But the being was no god, and the formation was not even complete. It was a discarded product created by a cultivator many Sage Years ago.
Once again diving deeper into divination, Zhou Fan saw that it had been a project a High sage had spent more than ten Sage Years on before he was attacked and killed, his spatial ring falling and being destroyed. The incomplete formation within, which had many issues with it, fell to the world which eventually used it to sacrifice their people.
The formation’s original intention, quite comically, had been to attempt to revive the High Sage’s dead daughter, which had been impossible from the start. Instead, it was used to kill trillions of beings and summon an incomparably monstrous being. From birth, the hidden being had the strength of a God realm cultivator, and quickly left the planet. It was only noticed by a few powerful beings years later, leading to what was known now.
Within the countless years the Universe had existed, stories such as these were not rare, but those which had resulted in a being as talented as the hidden being were non-existent, except for this very event.
Even with his almighty power, Zhou Fan could not predict such a thing. Though with his Power of Divination, it may actually be a bit more feasible. He had never been one to bother looking into the future, but since divination was closer to advanced calculations than time manipulation, it didn’t really count.
And even if it did, he still needed to find out its limits.
Zhou Fan began to divine the future. ƒreewebɳovel.com
His target was the very event that the Buddha had spoken about. When he would be attacked and sealed. After many years of silence and focus, he saw a blurry image. It was not a large group of Path Creators, but a small group of the absolute elites.
He recognized the majority of them, only one or two he did not know, but when he examined further, he felt something in the distance.
It was a pair of eyes, and they were watching him. Not the him of the future, but the perspective in which he was looking in his divination. It was merely a blurry picture, but Zhou Fan felt a slight sliver run up his spine.
With a thought he appeared in front of the hidden being. This thing was too terrifying. Although he was tempted to kill it and make sure it would not continue existing for a single moment more, he held himself back. Instead, he began to try and see through it. He wanted to understand its secrets. Being suppressed so quickly, it was clearly unwilling and resisted.
But before Zhou Fan’s strength, it could not do a thing.
Zhou Fan spent a while examining it, but he did not understand it at all. The being was unfathomable, and without thousands of Sage Years of dedicated and intense study, it would be impossible to understand it even slightly.
In all his years, Zhou Fan had never seen such a monstrous being. He knew that the Universe could give birth to infinite things, and infinite variations of those infinite things, but this was unimaginable.
The worst part is, he couldn’t even put into words why he felt this way towards it.
Zhou Fan considered himself to be a bit indifferent and mostly emotionless, but this thing showed him that he had never once met something so emotionless or indifferent. Even if the entire Universe disappeared and it began to be swallowed up by blankness, it would not feel a single emotion.
