The First Demon of the Chan Sect-Chapter 36 - 21 Zhunti Leads to Kunlun
36: Chapter 21 Zhunti Leads to Kunlun
36 -21 Zhunti Leads to Kunlun
“Junior Brother, the Eastern territories are truly more abundant than the Western ones!” said the distressed-looking Jieyin monk as he rode atop a Five-Colored Cloud Camel, speaking to Zhunti beside him.
“Yes, Senior Brother!” responded Zhunti, “In my view, the Eastern lands are not only richer, but also teeming with cultivators!
Once this catastrophe is over, I will surely convert all things in the East to our cause.”
Jieyin glanced at Zhunti, whose eyes gleamed with eagerness, his face showing even deeper sorrow, shaking his head to himself.
So vast is Primordial, it took the two almost another decade to reach the periphery of the Kunlun Mountain Range.
“Senior Brother, the range ahead is the West Kunlun Mountain Range!
Beyond these mountains lies East Kunlun!” declared Zhunti excitedly, pointing towards a great mountain in the distance.
Following Zhunti’s direction, Jieyin turned his gaze towards the West Kunlun Mountain Range lying ahead.
The West Kunlun Mountain, towering up to hundreds of thousands of feet, was studded with steep cliffs, endlessly dark and precipitous, the cliffs sharply cut like by axe and chisel, reaching straight into the sky.
On the mountainside, majestic pines and swaying cypresses abound.
The fiery red maples, burning with passion, became even more vividly enchanting after being washed by the morning dew, with the thick layer of fallen leaves on the ground making it seem as though heaven and earth were fused as one.
Stepping into the Maple Forest, Jieyin, sensing the morning’s dew, commented, “Junior Brother, this Kunlun Mountain is truly an Immortal Sacred Land.
Look at the abundant spiritual energy, the trees that reach the heavens.
They are indeed a hundred times more magnificent than our Western lands!”
Zhunti nodded in agreement, remarking, “Senior Brother, why don’t we claim this West Kunlun as our own cultivation ground in the East?
Wouldn’t that be wonderful?”
“Hmm!
This?…” Jieyin hesitated, clearly tempted by the idea.
Zhunti quickly seized the moment, continuing, “Senior Brother, after all, Luo Hou has already taken over the Western regions, and we cannot return for now.
Although we seek refuge with that Quasi-Saint Level Great Power, it’s still akin to living under someone else’s roof, which is rather uncomfortable.
If we occupied this West Kunlun, not to mention its bountiful waters and lush woodlands, we would also be not far from Yujing Mountain of East Kunlun.
Should danger arise, we could seek refuge there, wouldn’t that be even better?”
“Well, it is indeed good, but I’m not sure if this West Kunlun has an owner?” Jieyin’s worried face instantly twisted into an expression of even deeper misery!
“Senior Brother, don’t worry!
Even if West Kunlun has a master, what of it?
With our collective strength, should we fear him?” Zhunti smiled slyly with a maverick glint in his eye.
“Hmph!
What an arrogant Daoist!
How audacious to covet our master’s West Kunlun, truly ignorant of life and death!” Suddenly, before Zhunti and his companion, appeared an unusual monster.
The creature had the face of a human, body of a tiger, with ribs sprouting wings, eight legs and eight tails, its body green and yellow, and from its mouth, a cloud of mist wreathed.
Seeing the Exotic Beast before him, Zhunti’s eyes lit up, exclaiming, “It seems we are fated, for I happen to need a mount.
Serve as my steed!” Zhunti had indeed relapsed into an old habit, greedily wanting to snatch anything good, just as he had done with Qingmingzi, and now with this Exotic Beast.
Upon hearing this, the beast’s eyes blazed with fury, its large mouth gaped wide open, and with anger, it spat, “Pah!
That Taoist, born as Tian Wu at the dawn of heaven and earth, of a unique kind.
Who are you, to deserve to be my master?
Go to hell…” Having finished, it lashed its tiger tail like a steel whip towards Zhunti.
Zhunti merely smiled indifferently, summoning the Purple Golden Bowl above his head, blocking the tail’s strike.
Then he chanted, “Bright Great Handprint!”
A dazzling Big Handprint floated out from Zhunti’s hand, fiercely grasping for Tian Wu’s tail.
Born at the beginning of heaven and earth, Tian Wu naturally had extraordinary abilities.
Its head bizarrely twisted 180 degrees facing the oncoming Bright Great Handprint, and from its mouth spewed a thick grey fog.
The Bright Great Handprint began to shrink under the corroding mist, growing smaller and smaller, until it disappeared entirely.
A sneer formed on Tian Wu’s face as it said, “Thief Daoist, is that all you’ve got?”
Zhunti thought to himself: “How infuriating, to be looked down upon by a beast!
It utterly infuriates me!” He reached for the Purple Golden Bowl above his head, declaring, “You unruly beast, watch my Magic Treasure!” As he threw the Purple Golden Bowl high into the air.
The Bowl spun in the air, shooting beams of golden light.
The gravitational pull from the light began lifting Tian Wu off the ground, making it smaller and drawing it towards the suspended Bowl.
The desperately struggling Tian Wu, terrified, cried out, “Master, save me!”
As Tian Wu spoke, right on cue, a slender golden rope emerged from the void, looping around Tian Wu’s body and forcefully pulling it down.
Zhunti, frustrated at having his prey stolen from him, furiously demanded, “Who dares to spoil my success?”
“You’re quite disrespectful, thief Daoist!” came a crisp, pleasant voice, echoing like a bell from the mountaintop.
Shortly thereafter, a woman appeared out of nowhere in front of the two.
This woman, with silk-shod feet, tortoiseshell shining in her hair, a waist like gently flowing silk, with moon-adorned earrings, fingers slender as scallions, lips red as cinnabar, moved with delicate steps, exquisite beyond compare.
This woman, holding the other end of the rope, acted without preamble, forming hand seals and attacking.
One by one, Fire Dragons slowly took shape from the void, and with a gesture at Zhunti, she commanded, “True Flame Dragon, kill!”
Seven Fire Dragons, exuding faint blue flames, charged viciously at Zhunti.
In his panic, Zhunti recalled the Purple Golden Bowl from midair, directing its mouth towards the dragons, attempting to devour the seven Fire Dragons.
