Just as he saw the smirk and teasing face in the mirror, he already realized what he did. From the very first, Yun Shu’s plan was to make him fall for a trap and embarrass himself!

His words tickled her heart as Yun Shu stared down at Bai Yunxian, swallowing her words that were about to come out.

"Ahem! Well, fine. I won’t say that, now stay still and let me apply the lip rouge." Yun Shu coughed to distract herself on purpose as she carefully put on the make up on Bai Yunxian, taking her time.

Her skills in putting on makeup was quite good, and it made Bai Yunxian curious about how he was so good at it.

’Did he put it on for someone else before? How is he so skilled in it?’ Bai Yunxian felt a hint of jealousy in his heart, staring at the mirror on his reflection.

"Since I was little, my mother had a wish to get a daughter. Unfortunately, no girl was born into our family, so my mother dressed me up as a girl often, putting on makeup and such. You seem curious, so that’s the story behind my skills on putting on makeup, I know how to braid hair too." Yun Shu smiled at Bai Yunxian which he could see through the reflection on the mirror.

’He could tell what’s on my mind so easily? Am I really that readable?’

Bai Yunxian wondered as he touched his cheek subconsciously, causing the grin on Yun Shu’s face to widen.

Yun Shu took the chance to tease him again as she leaned closer to Bai Yunxian’s ear, whispering in a low and seductive tone, "Don’t worry. It’s not that you are too readable, it’s that you can’t hide your thoughts from me, your supposedly husband."

Bai Yunxian jumped and stood from his seat as he grabbed his ear, staring at Yun Shu in disbelief.

Everyone was enjoying themselves after taking their seats and welcoming both the Emperor and the Empress, when the situation was different for Yun Shu.

Especially the deadly stare from the Empress who seemed to be checking on her was hard to ignore.

Empress Yun, also Yun Shu’s Imperial aunt, was a woman especially known for her beauty across the continent. There was gossip even among the commoners that she was able to seduce Emperor Yun with her beauty and secure her position as the Empress; though they knew the truth very well.

Empress Yun was a woman of remarkable wisdom, talent and virtue aside from her beauty, and she was quite strict at maintaining it.

And since she knew that Yun Shu was actually a girl, she made sure to put an extra harsh lesson for Yun Shu only, which made Yun Shu dislike her. Not that she ever showed it outside.

So Yun Shu tried her best to avoid meeting Empress Yun. but today, there were many other faces on standby that she really didn’t wish to see.

Yun Si’s sunken face was quite a good sight to see, but at the same time, the foxy smirk of Mo Ling Yuan ticked her off.

Yun Shu knew that Emperor Yun arranged for him to go together with Bai Yunxian in this mission to the East, but she wasn’t sure about leaving him alone with that bastard, nor did she plan to do so.

Originally, Mo Ling Yuan always took Yun Shu as a rival, even in the plot. So there was nothing new for him to oppose her at every turn. Instead, he turned his attention to Bai Yunxian on purpose, who was sitting right next to Yun Shu.

"Please don’t mention it, Lord Yun. I would rather be pleased with your remarkable works within the Empire. Honestly, you did much more work than me to improve the Empire and its peoples well being." Mo Ling Yuan’s eyes roamed over Bai Yunxian for a bit before returning back to Yun Shu again, "However, I didn’t expect your wife to be so talented as well."

’Bastard...’ Yun Shu had no intention to play word games with Mo Ling Yuan, that disgusting pervert, so she turned him down in one move.

"It’s just how it is. If she is my wife, you should expect her to be remarkable in things."

Mo Ling Yuan couldn’t refute her words as he only smiled to finish the conversation, the warm and friendly smile was sweet, yet a deadly poison that worked just fine. Beneath that kind and warm facade, there was a cold blooded snake living for ages, waiting to poison its enemy at any time.

While he maintained a cheerful and kind exterior, from inside, he is a crazy, sadistic, and twisted pervert from inside who enjoys snatching other men’s wives or women.

Many girls in the Capital have fallen for this deadly smile and went crazy over it, even becoming toxic fans. Not that it applied to Yun Shu though.

Bai Yunxian watched the interaction and small exchange of words between them.
