These 12 Metacs are all the Metacs that he bought in the market to use. He bought these ones even though there were other types of Metac because he was used to them and could use them easily, and because the other Metacs were too flashy.

For example, there was a Metac called Emotional Domination. It could be used to control the emotions of targets. But when it is being used, it expands the mind of the user and creates a halo around their mind, which other Mind Hunter Cultivators can see.

So if he buys the Emotional Domination Metac and uses it on the battlefield, he will be telling people that he has more than one pathway. Knowing the Four Directions Sect, members of his sect will turn on him if he dares to reveal that kind of ability on the battlefield.

So he left the Emotional Domination Metac behind. He didn’t want to be tempted to use it. He only picked the Metacs whose use would go unnoticed.

He got the Mind Shield even though it will be noticed by other Mind Hunters when he uses it. Any Mind Hunter around him will see the white, round ice dome covering his mind all the time, so he can’t hide it.

But since this shield could also be bestowed on him by another Mind Hunter using the Mind Protector Metac, no one would think that he created the shield on his own.

They would rather believe that someone else created it to protect their mind rather than the anomaly that he possesses two pathways. This is why he got the Mind Shield. It is why he got the Mind Stab Metac.

The Mind Stab Metac’s attack is invisible to other people, but Mind Hunters will be able to see the arrow of mental energy. However, this arror of mental energy could also be bestowed by another Mind Hunter using the Anti-Mind Defense, which is a Metac that installs mental attacks into the mind of the attacker to protect that mind by attacking anyone who tries to tamper with the mind.

Unfortunately, the Mind Shield can’t block the effect of the Hypnotize Ability, and there is no way to shift the blame to another Mind Hunter. So he didn’t get it this time.

This is also the reason why he let go of the Sword Break Metac, Sword Edge Metac, Sword Dance Metac, and the Sword Steps Metac. Their effects are too visible, and their source can’t be shifted to someone else, so he let them go too.

He only kept the Hidden Sword Metac as its effect is hidden. As for the Concentration Metac of the Mind Hunter Pathway, its visual effect is nearly invisible, and anything still visible will be blocked by the Mind Shield.

He said that because he is very proud of his Life Ability. The Shifting Armor Ability is something he believes to be the best Life Ability objectively because it is essential nanotechnology.

When it transforms into armor, the armor has three layers. The first layer is a thin elastic layer made of metal that behaves like rubber.

This first layer is the external muscles that the Life Ability uses to enhance its strength and speed. So the first layer is the source of the enhancement of Life Ability.

Right now, the first layer adds 3 points to the power of his body. This enhancement will increase in the future as it grows stronger.

The second layer is the layer of small plates piled on top of one another and arranged like the scales of a snake. This layer behaves like chain mail. It grants defense and flexibility while also serving as the intermediate layer to the top layer.

The top layer is formed by thick layers of metal plates similar to the armor plates of tanks. This layer is most immobile and rigid, but the metal plates that make it up become harder the more pressure is applied to them, instead of fracturing. This costs him a lot of energy, but he believes that it is worth it.

As he thought of this, he looked at his Life Ability and considered how well it would work with the new Reversal Metac. Ideas came rushing out of his mind, and his eyes lit up as he considered every single one of them.

The more he thought of how to combine the two of them, the more giddy he became. Eventually, he smiled and said with a look of anticipation on his face, "It seems the battlefield will be interesting."

With that said, he continued to refine his body. This is what he did all through the night until the following day, when he had to leave for the battlefield.

The only other thing he did was to check the stock market and the betting options in the gambling section of the sect token for information that he can use in the future time lines.
