The Golem Mage-Chapter 283: Jungle Battle Part 4.
A few seconds after Alec and his golem squad left, the other five mages that Legion mentioned finally located the barrier mage.
Astrid cautiously approached the barrier mage and placed a hand on his neck, feeling the pulse still beating.
Making him He let out a relieved sigh.
If he had lost a member of his party on this mission without any clear benefits, Igor’s Chief Disciple, which was also Astrid’s senior disciple , would not hesitate to give him a harsh beating.
"How did something like this happen?"
Astrid asked, turning towards the Divination mage who stood at the edge.
"I picked up a faint divination signal of someone being close, a mage signal, but it was fluctuating at a very low level, like he was in the Tier 2 realm."
" So, I figured he must be one of the ones we were prepared to capture," the Divination mage explained.
"I quickly informed my partner and asked him to call for backup, but he refused, saying it was just one mage and that we could handle it."
" However, as this mage’s signal got closer, it started to rise, and I began picking up divinations that I couldn’t see before."
"I saw the person coming, holding a red crown with blood red hair, and behind him stood several rocky creatures... Like golems."
" I was terrified by the divinations I received and decided to retreat immediately, My senses were screaming at me that I was no match for whatever demon was coming to hunt us."
" But he never listened to me, so I ran first to pass on this important information."
Astrid sighed in defeat as he listened to the divination mage’s account of things.
He couldn’t say for sure if the Divination Mage statement was accurate, but he had no evidence to prove otherwise.
The only evidence he had was the knocked-out mage, and he planned to ask him what happened later.
For now, his focus was on the final rewards at stake.
He wasn’t afraid that Alec seemed strong; in fact, it only excited him.
If Alec was powerful enough to defeat a Tier 4 mage, it meant he possessed the power attribute stone that Kethra desired so desperately, and that was why Kethra needed there help.
Astrid paid no mind to what the divination mage had said.
His primary focus was on finding this mage before Kethra did.
Initially, he had taken this job out of boredom from staying at the academy.
But now, seeing how Alec had taken care of one of his mages, Astrid was certain that he would enjoy hunting down the mage responsible and his other friends.
He didn’t believe for a second that one person was responsible for the mage’s defeat.
But at the same time It just didn’t make sense to him for a couple of Tier 2 mages to overpower a Tier 4 mage who had reached the mid-rank realm, so he could only relate to James helping out as he always suspected that James was still helping them.
"Spread out this time, When you see the mages, your first course of action should be to fire the signal flare," Astrid commanded.
"Try your best to delay until backup arrives. I don’t want any more members getting wasted like this idiot here."
As Astrid spoke, he pulled out four different rings and slipped them onto his right hand.

Just as he was giving his speech, the Divination mage’s eyes turned white for a moment before returning to normal.
Astrid, who had taken the divination mage under his wing, knew exactly what this change meant.
When his eyes turned pure white for a few seconds...
"I think the person we’re looking for has already found another target," the Divination mage declared.
The three mages nearby looked at him skeptically, but Astrid displayed interest in the topic.

Boom!
A loud noise erupted from a nearby area, causing their heads to turn in that direction.
They realized they couldn’t see anything anymore as the bushes had closed back up.
Apart from the main road, the rest of the bushes automatically repaired themselves by absorbing sunlight and mana from the environment.
With the bushes obstructing their view, they couldn’t see the actual events unfolding, but the explosions indicated that a fierce battle was underway.
"I told you so, That person has attacked again," the divination mage asserted, sporting a smug smile on his face, as he was proud to have prove them wrong since The other three mages had initially disregarded his suggestion.
"Lead the way,"
Astrid instructed the divination mage, believing that he would guide them more effectively in their current situation.
Certain regions within the orcish forest were more menacing than others, and the area where the plants repaired themselves seemed to work to Alec’s advantage.
It provided him with ample hiding spots to launch his attacks and facilitated his ability to quickly locate his enemies thanks to an advantageous Golem like Legion who had a detention range of a hundred meters.
Two minutes later, Astrid and his gang arrived at the newly discovered battleground.
To their surprise, there were no traces of Alec’s golems or Alec himself.
All that remained was a frozen mage, standing like a statue in the center of the clearing.
Although they confirmed that he was still alive, but he was unable to contribute to the ongoing fight, much like the previously encountered barrier mage.
"Arghhhh! I’m going to tear you apart the moment I find you!, Do you hear me? I will kill you!"
Astrid shouted to the skies, lightning energy crackling around his right hand, drawn by the rings he had just put on.
Just as Astrid vented his frustration, Kethra and the other mages arrived.
They had entered the forest on a supposedly harmless hunt, with ten members excluding their leader.
However, now that two had been easily incapacitated, doubts started to arise.
It was evident that Kethra had withheld crucial details, and it appeared that this mage possessed a power level on par with their own leader.
But no matter how much their leader challenged and called for Alec’s presence, only the eerie echo of the forest answered.
Nobody emerged, making him look foolish.
"Shouting will only give away our location to the Group that attacked your mages, and they’ll see your challenge as a trap, therefore not coming," Kethra reasoned, trying to prevent any further risk.
But Astrid snorted, no longer interested in what Kethra had to say.
His ego had been wounded, and all he cared about now was defeating Alec and his entire squad.
He wanted to make them suffer for eliminating two members of his own group with ease and him not even been able to find out till it was done, despite those members being the weakest links.
"Hey, you! Since you were able to find them before, use your skills and locate them again, I don’t care how you do it, but you must find them!"
Astrid demanded, placing his hand forcefully on the divination mage’s shoulder, his expression intense.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the forest, Alec and his golems rendezvoused at a random location after dealing with the other mage.
The unfortunate mage had found himself alone when they came across him.
Legion had intended to toy with him for a bit, but upon realizing that roughly five other mages were nearby, he had Titan attack instead.
In just a few moves, Alec’s reliable golem froze the entire area, encasing the mage in an ice coffin and transforming him into a temporary statue.
As usual, they fled in different directions, following Legion’s directions, only to reunite once more on a random path that Legion had predicted.
Having someone like Legion was akin to having a mini-map of the forest, as his extensive knowledge of the terrain saved their team as he had the terrain of all the place the pass saved his database.
