The Greatest Village Doctor In The World-Chapter 22 Squandering Heaven’s Gifts
Mo Jiaolan was even more astonished upon hearing this, "I can’t believe you have this ability. Why would you even bother going up the mountain to catch wild chickens for money? Professional fragrance consultants can have starting salaries of several million a year!"
Ling Feng’s mouth twitched slightly as he continued to smile, "Not interested. I don’t like the flashy city life; I just want to live in the countryside and be closer to nature!"
"You’re really at a noble level!"
Mo Jiaolan refreshed her perception of Ling Feng once again, feeling that this man was like a treasure trove, always full of surprises!
Twenty minutes later, the car arrived at a farmhouse in the suburbs. As they got out of the car, Mo Jiaolan and Ling Feng were laughing together, and an old man with a white beard inside the house saw it all.
"What a surprise, I haven’t seen Jiaolan so happy in a long time. Who is this young man? Why haven’t I seen him before?" the old man mumbled to himself.
Moments later, the door opened, and Mo Jiaolan led Ling Feng inside before introducing him, "Uncle Song, this is the friend I told you about. His name is Ling Feng."
"Good day, Elder. Sorry to disturb you," Ling Feng said.
Uncle Song, whose real name was Song Wuque, squinted his eyes and took a look at Ling Feng, then nodded slightly, "No need to be polite, have a seat."
As soon as Ling Feng sat down, he immediately asked, "Did you bring your Lingzhi mushroom?"
"I did. Please have a look," Ling Feng nodded, and promptly took out the Lingzhi mushroom from the plastic bag he was carrying.
Song Wuque hadn’t been taking it seriously, but as soon as his gaze fell on the Lingzhi mushroom, he couldn’t take his eyes off it!
"Jiaolan, bring me my magnifying glass!"
Seeing his reaction, Mo Jiaolan immediately felt sure of something, quickly stood up, searched the bookshelf, and brought the magnifying glass to him.
Bending over, Song Wuque studied the Lingzhi mushroom in detail for a good while without uttering a word.
After what seemed like forever, he finally lifted his head to look at Ling Feng, "Where did you find this?"
"In the mountains, I stumbled upon it by chance," replied Ling Feng.
"Was there nothing guarding it?" Song Wuque asked.
"There was a big snake," Ling Feng answered.
Song Wuque’s eyes widened, immediately asking with urgency, "What about the snake?"
Ling Feng found it odd, but he answered truthfully, "I ate it."
"You ate it!"
Song Wuque’s eyes almost bulged out of his head as he slapped his thigh, "What a pity, such a pity!"
Seeing him react like he had lost some incredibly important treasure, Ling Feng and Mo Jiaolan exchanged glances and asked at the same time, "Why is it a pity?"
"That snake, by guarding this Lingzhi, had been imbued with its Spiritual Energy and had already developed Spiritual Wisdom. If you had caught it alive, its value would have been even higher than this Lingzhi mushroom! And you just ate it!" Song Wuque glared at Ling Feng!
Ling Feng was speechless, thinking to himself that this was really being caught in the crossfire. How was he supposed to know?
With an innocent face, he shrugged his shoulders and said, "Sorry about that. I’m just a country boy; I don’t understand these magical things at all."
"Never mind, eaten is eaten. It will have some benefits for you too, so it’s not a complete waste," Song Wuque said helplessly, shaking his head.
This immediately piqued Ling Feng’s interest, and he hurriedly asked, "Elder, could you tell me what kinds of benefits it will bring?"
Song Wuque looked at him, "After you ate the snake meat, did you feel your body heat up, as if every part of you was comfortable?"
"No, I just thought it was very delicious and the meat was tender," Ling Feng shook his head.
"Such a waste, such a waste!" Song Wuque was profoundly disappointed, and if it weren’t for Mo Jiaolan being there, he really might have slapped Ling Feng!
Suppressing the gloom in his heart, he sighed and sat down, "Let’s forget about the snake for now, how much do you plan to sell this Lingzhi for?"
"I’m not familiar with this, so I asked you to take a look. How much do you think it’s worth?" asked Ling Feng.
Song Wuque looked at him, "If you take it to the market, you could sell it for about 150,000 yuan. They could make a profit of tens of thousands yuan by flipping it. How about this— I’ll give you 200,000 yuan, and I’ll take the Lingzhi."
"Sounds good. You are Jiaolan’s elder, you naturally wouldn’t cheat me!"
Ling Feng was inwardly overjoyed. He had thought that if he could sell it for a few tens of thousands, it would have been nice, but he didn’t expect to get such a high price!
"I’ll write you a check."
Song Wuque got up and left, returning after a short while with a check which he handed to Ling Feng.
"Thank you, old man!" said Ling Feng as he took the check.
Song Wuque waved his hand dismissively, "Go on, go on, seeing you just makes me feel regret!"
Ling Feng understood what he meant, but he couldn’t help asking, "Old man, I’m a bit curious, what exactly is so miraculous about that snake?"
"Exactly, Uncle Song, I’m also very curious. Could you tell us about it?" Mo Jiaolan also chimed in with a question.
It was precisely because she also asked that Song Wuque shook his head and sighed, "Such creatures are very rare. Alive, they can be domesticated to become Spiritual Beasts, and if dead, eating their flesh, with effects varying by individual constitution, can at its weakest prolong life, and at its best can rejuvenate one’s body completely!"
"That amazing?" asked Mo Jiaolan, incredulously, with wide eyes.
"Yes, that amazing. But it’s a pity that Ling Feng ate it and had no reaction at all, completely wasting it!" said Song Wuque.
Ling Feng had an embarrassed expression on his face, but his heart was stirred by a mighty wave!
He remembered very clearly that he had felt nothing the previous night, but both Li Shiyun and Li Yumei had shown the reactions that Song Wuque had just mentioned!
That is to say, the snake was not wasted, but it had given tremendous help to both of them!
As for the results on their bodies, he believed he would find out after returning home!
"Thank you for your guidance, old man. We won’t disturb you any further, goodbye."
Ling Feng stood up to leave, and seeing this, Mo Jiaolan also got up to leave with him.
After the two had left, Song Wuque picked up the Lingzhi and examined it closely before murmuring to himself, "With this, I can take another step forward in my cultivation, right? These 200,000 yuan were well spent!"
...
...
Mo Jiaolan took Ling Feng to the bank to cash the check, then saw him back to the hotel’s back courtyard.
Watching him about to leave, Mo Jiaolan found a hint of reluctance creeping into her heart. After pondering for a moment, she could not help but ask, "You won’t be coming to deliver game anymore, will you?"
"Yes, I’ve almost hunted the mountain chickens to extinction, and hares are too hard to catch. I can only wait until the ones I’m raising have grown up before I do anything," Ling Feng replied.
Mo Jiaolan bit her lip and her eyes darted around before she said, "Well then, when you start raising them, I’ll come over to take a look. We can talk about potential cooperation then!"
Seeing the slight blush on her face as she spoke, Ling Feng was taken aback, "Could this girl have taken a liking to me?"
He didn’t hesitate and nodded at once, "Sure, Shiliu Village is always welcoming to Manager Mo!"
"Just call me Jiaolan," said Mo Jiaolan with a faint smile.
Ling Feng’s eyes brightened, and he immediately nodded, "Okay!"
After their conversation, one turned to go upstairs, the other to drive his electric tricycle home. Neither noticed that from a window above, someone had been watching them for a while.
