The Growth of a Titan-Chapter 401- Cheonma Of The Orthodox Faction
Chapter 401: Chapter 401- Cheonma Of The Orthodox Faction
As Sol and Byeong-ho reached the front gate of the manor, Byeong-ho was about to leave, but Sol suddenly said.
"Brother Byeong-ho, I have a question I’ve been meaning to ask you for a while now."
Byeong-ho paused and turned to look at Sol with a curious expression, silently telling him to continue.
"It’s a small matter I can’t help but think about. When we first talked and I asked for you to find Brother Son, you said the Demonic Sect was likely responsible for stealing geniuses Innate Dharmas."
Sol stopped here as he thought his question was obvious. Since Byeong-ho was a part of the later generation of the Forgotten Sect, the way he spoke back then made it seem like he hated the Forgotten Sect.
Sol wanted to know whether he was just saying that to not draw suspicion to himself, as at that time Sol had no knowledge his Master was related to the Forgotten Sect, whom the Holy Sect and Great Clans saw as enemies.
Byeong-ho paused before responding.
"At that time, I also said that the Demonic Cult was different from the past. Eldest Brother Ji-hoon and the others are different, other remnant groups are there from the Demonic Cult that defected to the Holy Sects after the Sect was destroyed."
Sol’s pupils constricted when he heard that. He then asked softly.
"You knew the Wudang Sect was stealing Innate Dharmas?"
Byeong-ho shook his head and explained.
"I had my suspicions that it might be one of the Holy Sects, but there was no proof."—Byeong-ho paused here before continuing—"It’s not that I completely oppose Eldest Brother Ji-hoon, I also agree that the Holy Sects and Great Clans are a disease that has too much of a stranglehold on Jianghu, it’s just that I disagree with how he wants to go about doing things."
Sol suddenly realized there was an underlying meaning to Byeong-ho’s words. He should have realized it sooner.
If the Wudang Sect was stealing Innate Dharmas, were they truly doing it so secretly that it took a few children to discover them? Not even the other Holy Sects and Great Clans had known? At least one of them should have been in cahoots with the Wudang Sect for this to go unnoticed by the others.
’Did the Wudang Sect simply take the fall?’
Sol couldn’t help but think to himself as a frown appeared on his face. He looked at Byeong-ho and asked again.
"Was the Third Grand Elder or your father not aware of this either?"
Byeong-ho shook his head.
"My Father doesn’t get involved with the Holy Sects and Great Clans because of what they did to my grandfather, and even if my grandfather had suspected it was one of those Holy Sects, he wouldn’t be able to do anything given his situation."
Sol showed a confused expression upon hearing that, but Byeong-ho explained.
"In the past, my grandfather had condemned the Huashan Sect and the others for destroying the Forgotten Sect. Because of that, he was deemed a Demonic Cult follower and a betrayer of the Six Sects Coalition that was created to fight the Demonic Sect at the time. He was sentenced to death, but because he was that generation’s Plum Blossom Sword Siant and the future Sect Leader, his punishment was reduced to having his cultivation abolished and being exiled from the Sect."
Sol was slightly shocked upon hearing that and was just about to ask how that was possible when the Third Grand Elder still had his cultivation. His Father-in-law, MarDule’s father, had even said he was one of the strongest experts on the Continent, however, Byeong-ho beat him to it.
"Over the past three hundred years while he was in exile, he started roaming the continent teaching children. That’s how he came to be known as ’Cheonma of the Orthodox Faction.’ However, during those years, when everyone thought his cultivation was slowly deteriorating, he had instead regained his cultivation somehow and had even broken through into the Heavenly Realm."
Sol’s eyes flickered intensely as he suddenly recalled that his Master said he had once taught the Third Grand Elder.
’Was it then that Master taught him? Did Master also have something to do with restoring the Third Grand Elder’s cultivation?’
Sol’s mind shook as made this speculation.
"What happened after that?"
Sol couldn’t help but ask in an urging tone, wanting to know more.
Byeong-ho didn’t hide anything as he continued.
"Several years ago, when I was born, grandfather raised me and then brought me back to the Huashan Sect. Because of my talents, I was adopted by my father. Father was born sometime before grandfather was exiled, so he had animosity towards the Hushan Sect. However, Uncle was young, so he doesn’t hold great feelings for grandfather. Also, due to Uncle’s talents back then, he was named the thirteenth Plum Blossom Sword Saint and soon became the Clan Leader of the Huashan Sect. Even though Grandfather returned to the Sect, he chose to become a Grand Elder of the Academy and avoid contact with them. But even then, the title is only in name as the other Holy Sects’ Grand Elders made sure he had no power in the Academy. Though grandfather doesn’t care for such things either."
Byeong-ho’s story stopped here, and after the two said their goodbyes he left.
Sol closed the gate and was in his thoughts as he walked back to the open yard. After he sat down in his chair, he sighed softly before glancing at the sleeping Little Zeel who was on the table.
Sol reached out and gently rubbed his hand across his back.
Little Zeel suddenly woke up before sleepily moving towards Sol. As he did, his body shrunk to the size of a palm before he leaped onto Sol’s shoulder.
He then snuggled his way inside Sol’s curly hair, completely hiding himself.
Sol was slightly shocked by Little Zeel’s ability to make himself so small, but he then remembered he indeed had this ability, just that Little Zeel seemed to have more control over it now.
After fully emptying his wine cup that was on the tabke, not leaving a single drop, Sol closed his eyes and circulated his cultivation.
