The Growth of a Titan-Chapter 403- A Housemate Of Sorts
Chapter 403: Chapter 403- A Housemate Of Sorts
Coming out of his thoughts, Sol said to Woo-Seong.
"I have something to give you."
Sol then flipped over his hand and took out an old ring. A metallic sound echoed out as he lightly flicked it towards Woo-Seong across the table.
Woo-Seong caught the ring and then turned it over and over to examine it. His expression showed curiosity as he wondered why Sol was giving him a damaged storage ring.
However, when Woo-Seong finally sent his Soul Energy inside to check the space, he was shocked.
"Wah! This... This is..."
Woo-Seong was so astonished he forgot how to speak.
The ring was damaged, so he didn’t recognize it at first, but from the records he read in his Sect, this was terrifyingly similar to one of the Immortal Treasures his Sect had lost in the Hundred Plants and Herbs dimension in the past, the Nine Heavens Storage Ring!
However, to make sure his guess was correct he tried to recall the descriptions he read and examined this ring in more detail. But the more he looked at this ring the more his heart began to beat faster.
"Brother Sol, is this really my Wudang Sect’s Nine Heavens Storage Ring?"
Sol nodded and said with a smile.
"I happened to discover it within the Hundred Plants and Herbs Dimension."
Woo-Soeng suddenly got extremely excited, and he hurriedly asked.
"Brother Sol, did you perhaps find any manuals inside?"
Woo-Soeng thought that perhaps this ring was in the possession of an old ancestor of their Sect, and if that was the case there should have been some secret manuals on him.
In the cultivation world, it was difficult for powers like the Wudang Sect not to lose powerful techniques throughout the passage of time.
After falling into this state, secret Techniques like those that have been lost would be a huge fortune for them! As of now, they were merely relying on the old elders to recall some of the Techniques that were taken by the Shaolin Sect.
However, Woo-Seong became disappointed when Sol shook his head and said.
"There were manuals inside, but... ah... they might not be useful to you or your Sect."
Woo-Soeng was confused as to why that was the case, but he didn’t doubt Sol.
Sighing Woo-Soeng said.
"I thought that perhaps I had stumbled upon an opportunity to regain some of my sect lost Techniques. However, this ring itself is a precious treasure so I am content."
Woo-Seong fiddled with the ring for a moment before he looked at Sol and said after a bit of hesitation.
"Brother Sol, you don’t mind me selling this do you?"
"Not at all, feel free to do with it as you see fit, it’s yours anyway."
Woo-Seong beamed with joy.
"Thank you, Brother Sol."—Woo-Seong then looked at the sword by his waist and added—"With this both the lost Immortal Treasures of my Wudang Sect have been recovered. Though, I have to part with the Nine Heavens Storage Ring to keep the Sect afloat."
Sol shot a curious glance at the sword on Woo-Seong’s waist. With a bit of surprise in his voice, he asked.
"Is that the Sword of Severance?"
Woo-Seong nodded.
"Do you want to see it?"
Woo-Seong asked but he was already unstrapping it from his waist. He then handed it over to Sol across the table.
Sol took it and his curious eyes roamed around it. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
The handle was of a dull gray color, but it looked as if it was white previously but had the color on it faded away after so many years.
The scabbard was pitch black with an auspicious beast carved on it, but that too was fading away.
Sol grabbed the handle, but he didn’t unsheathe it. He actually sensed a Will inside of it that seemed to loathe his touch.
If not for Woo-Seong, it might be struggling in his hold.
It was an Immortal Sword similar to Byeong-ho’s own, but Sol noticed that Byeong-ho’s Immortal Sword was far more older, as if the time of creation for both swords was separated by an Era.
After scrutinizing the sword, Sol handed it back to Woo-Soeng.
The two then chatted casually for a bit until it was past midnight and entered the next day. However, as they talked Sol noticed that Woo-Seong wanted to say something but always stopped himself. He was also stalling to leave as well.
"Do you want to stay here?"
Sol suddenly asked.
Woo-Seong immediately became embarrassed having his thoughts read, but he nodded.
"Even though I’m the Irregular Dharma Pavilion’s Head Disciple, it’s practically being run by the other Holy Sects now, so I’d rather not stay there. However! Instead of just freeloading here, I can do things like clean and run errands for you."
Woo-Seong quickly added that last part as he didn’t want Sol to get the wrong impression of him.
Sol smiled and said.
"Sure, you can stay here. I always felt that this manor was too big for me anyway, so your presence is a change of pace. As for you running errands for me, that ought to be the case as I don’t like being taken advantage of. Similarly, it ought to be that I pay you, how does fifty thousand high-grade Aether Stones a week sound?"
Woo-Seong was about to refuse Sol’s offer of payment but when he heard the amount his eyes went round.
That was high-grade Aether Stones we’re talking about not mid-grade Aether Stones. They’re the peak currency used on the Eastern Continent, but not many people could take out so much at once, not unless they’re the son or daughter of an extremely, extremely, wealthy tycoon.
Even Woo-Seong, despite being the Patriarch’s son, had only received a few thousand high-grade Aether Stones for his ’monthly’ allowance.
Paying some fifty thousand high-grade Aether Stones a week was simply absurd.
Immediately, Woo-Seong knew why Sol was paying him so much. Woo-Seong had once said he didn’t need any help, but Sol was using this as a pretext to help.
"Brother Sol, you don’t have to pay me that much, or even pay me at all."
Sol immediately waved his hand causally and said.
"Just think of it as the food budget for us."
Woo-Seong forced a smile, even though he didn’t want to help it was hard to refuse so after he came from such an angle.
Suddenly, Woo-Seong felt a surge of warmth in his chest. He softly said.
"Thank you, Brother Sol."
Sol smiled and nodded before he stood up.
"I’m off to my room, you can choose from the other five."
With that Sol headed off to his room.
Woo-Seong watched him go before he sat there and looked up at the starry night sky. His mind wandered back to the Academy’s announcement, and he couldn’t help but clench his fists.
"I have to get the top three. The news about getting a request from those existences was a rumor after all, but after I get into the top three, I can ask for a pardon on my Sect’s behalf instead of becoming a disciple."
Woo-Seong muttered this before he got up and chose a room in the manor. It was one room down from Sol’s own.
Like this, the days pass with Sol having a housemate of sorts. However, two weeks later a surprising visitor appeared that left Sol excited.
