The Growth of a Titan-Chapter 418- Please Stay And Give Me An Explanation
Chapter 418: Chapter 418- Please Stay And Give Me An Explanation
"What’s going on, did they really try upselling their items?"
"That’s what I want to know. I bought from this place more than a few times, don’t tell me they upsell those items to me?"
"I want answers as well."
The customers in the store all stepped forward to where Sol and the others were. Their gazes were filled with discontent as they stared at Hanyu.
Hanyu was quick to snap out of her dazed state and she smiled calmly and said to Woo-seong.
"Perhaps there was a misunderstanding with the prices, and the person who told you made a mistake. If you would follow me into a private room, we’ll peacefully discuss the issue."
At this point, Neither Woo-seong nor Sol had to fan the flames as the gathering crowd was already becoming suspicious.
One male youth who had a beautiful girl next to him snorted derisively and said.
"Are you trying to get these people to leave with you so you can cover it up? Forget about it, now that you’ve been caught don’t even think about sweeping it under the table. You have to give everyone here an explanation. Was this your plot all along by not placing the prices of the items for us to see?"
"That’s right! They don’t have the prices of the items on display, this is obviously so they can upsell the prices after we choose them!"
Upon hearing this, the crowd was in an uproar. This store was a well-known establishment backed by a Great Clan, so no one would have connected them not showing the price of items to them trying to scam their customers out of more money.
That notion was just too ridiculous, and the consequences would be too catastrophic for that Great Clan. They would lose a considerable amount of trust from the public and their reputation would take a massive hit!
For a top power that depended on the public to make their fortune, this was going to touch their bottom line, their source of wealth!
This situation might look simple on the surface, but if news left this store, it was going to cause a sensation in Marital Alliance City. It might even spread to the other cities where this Great Clan had stores as well.
It was because Hanyu knew this that her heart was starting to beat faster and faster.
"I won’t accept this; I’m contacting my Clan."
"I’m leaving, I don’t care for the items I purchased, but I’m never buying from this store again and I’ll tell everyone I know not to."
Hanyu saw people pulling out jade slips and others about to leave the store. She couldn’t let that happen, she had to quell this situation immediately!
Hanyu raised her hand a formed a hand seal.
"Huh? What happened?"
The people who took out jade slips found that their messages weren’t going through, while the people leaving realized a formation was preventing them from going outside.
"Miss Hanyu, what is the meaning of this?"
Sol raised an eyebrow and asked when he saw Hanyu activating the store’s formations to trap everyone inside.
Hanyu swept her gaze over Sol’s expression.
She wasn’t a fool.
This situation was just too coincidental. Woo-seong’s words were too direct and were said with so much confidence it didn’t leave room for doubt, so things escalated extremely quickly.
However, Hanyu wasn’t sure if this was a ploy by these brats or not as she couldn’t detect anything abnormal from Sol’s expression.
He didn’t seem angry about her upselling the items but just displeased that she dared to pull such a trick on him.
Out of everyone in this store, this was the youth Hanyu was most worried about. As for the other people yapping in the background, there were numerous ways she could get them to keep them quiet. All she had to do was just not let news of this spread to the outside world.
As the customers were clamoring about the formations trapping them, Hanyu paid them no mind and instead smiled at Sol and said calmly.
"Brother Sol, please understand that this a misunderstanding. If you come to the private room, I’ll be sure to give you a satisfactory explanation."
Hanyu gestured for Sol to come around the counter.
One had to admit Hanyu was handling this situation extremely well.
Sol looked at Hanyu and suddenly smiled.
"Okay, I will hear out Miss Hanyu’s explanation."
Seeing how easily Sol agreed to her suggestion, Hanyu was almost sure this fucking brat had created this situation on purpose.
However, she also sighed in her heart as with this she might be able to resolve the situation without any problems.
Hanyu looked at the nosy crowd who were still making quite a ruckus and said with a smile.
"Everyone, for the sake of this establishment’s reputation I had no choice but to do this. This is only a misunderstanding that will be resolved now, you all can return to browsing our items in the meantime. To make up for the inconvenience, any item you choose you will receive a forty percent discount."
Hanyu’s latter words seemed to have some effect as a majority of the people stopped making a fuss. Their hearts were greatly moved.
As for the others who weren’t moved by the discount, Hanyu said.
"Once again, this matter concerns the reputation of this establishment and the force behind it. Please be understanding."
Even though Hanyu was wearing a smile while her words sounded pleading, it was obvious there was a bit of coldness in her smile and a threat in her words.
This made a few people clamp their mouths shut, however, there were still a few people who didn’t fear the force behind this store.
"Preposterous! How dare you try to threaten me, do you even know who my grandfather is?! You trapping us here is no different from you admitting that you indeed tried to upsell your store’s items, which is completely unforgivable! No amount of discount or threats will be enough for you to avoid the consequences!!"
"That’s right!"
"Miss Hanyu, you really won’t be able to hide this matter from the public!"
These people who were still making a fuss were from well-established Clans in Martial Alliance City. Even though they couldn’t compare to a Great Clan, they weren’t some weak forces that could easily be pushed around. They had the power to shake Martial Alliance City when they stomped their foot.
Hanyu couldn’t help but frown when she saw this.
These spoiled-rich Young Masters were indeed a headache to deal with. As she swept her gaze over the faces of the twelve or so youths and young ladies making a fuss, Hanyu recalled the forces behind them, and her headache couldn’t help but increase.
For these people who didn’t have much talent and only survived off of their families, their faces and reputations were everything. No amount of compensation would be enough to appease them after they suspected someone of daring to scam them out of their money.
While Hanyu was wracking her brain to get these spoiled brats to keep quiet, Sol, Mar-Yue, and Woo-seong were about to walk behind the counter.
Their goal was achieved. As for the fallout, that didn’t really concern them.
However, before they could walk behind the counter, a calm voice came from the entrance of the store.
"Brother Sol, are you trying to leave after purposely creating this situation? Please stay and give me an explanation."
Swoosh!
Everyone’s heads simultaneously turned to look at the entrance of the store.
A young man who looked to be around sixteen or seventeen was seen walking into the store. He was wearing simple clothing making him look plain and ordinary, but if one looked closely, they would realize he was quite handsome.
He was even comparable to Woo-seong or those Young Masters from the Great Clans and Holy Sects.
However, his aura and presence were so restrained that if he was placed inside a crowd, no one would take notice of him.
It was a really strange feeling.
As the youth entered the store, everyone wondered how he was able to do so when the formation blocked both exit and entry.
However, everyone’s gaze was soon drawn to the jade slip in his hand that was glowing with runic symbols on its surface. It made the formations he walked past ineffective.
Just as everyone was wondering who this mysterious youth was, someone suddenly stuttered from the crowd.
"That’s... Look at his chest."
Quickly everyone’s gazes landed on the youth’s chest, and they saw a name in golden threads. It created quite a contrast to the plain clothing it was etched.
However, when everyone’s eyes landed on it, every single person had their pupils contracted.
The name etched in golden threading on the youth’s chest was... Jeagal.
The people who were closer to the store entrance suddenly stepped back in fear.
Even though the formation no longer trapped them here, not a single person dared step forward to leave.
As the youth walked into the store, the crowd continuously retreated to give him space.
The youth stopped near the counter and looked at Sol with an indifferent expression.
Sol looked at this youth and calmly said.
"Wei-Sun, why would I need to give you an explanation?"
