Chapter 423: Chapter 423- On Guard

Sol’s eyes flickered when he heard Wei-sun’s words. Not only was there a more terrifying formation here than the larger Formation Array around the Jeagal Clan, but it had such peculiar ability.

"How invasive is the scan?"

Sol asked and Wei-sun didn’t hide anything.

"It’s able to detect special bloodlines and even identify the type and grade of one’s Innate Dharma."

"Your Jeagal Clan has such a Formation?"

Mar-Yue said, a bit of surprise in her voice. Even her Barbarian Race didn’t have a Formation like that, the closest thing to it was the stone monument that could detect their Giant Race Bloodline.

Sol and Woo-seong didn’t show much of a reaction, but both were frowning deeply in their hearts for their own reasons.

Hesitation suddenly appeared in Woo-seong’s heart, but Sol’s eyes flickered before he smiled and said.

"Thank you, Brother Wei-sun, for the warning, we’ll continue."

Wei-sun looked at Sol deeply, before nodding and turning to lead them up the mountain.

As Wei-sun turned around, Woo-seong looked at Sol with a worried expression and sent a soul message.

’Brother Sol, there is something I have to tell you. I-’

’It’s okay, I know. I won’t let them discover your second Innate Dharma.’

Woo-seong’s eyes couldn’t help but widen when he heard Sol’s words, but Sol only smiled and patted his back.

Suddenly, Woo-seong felt something entering his body. He closed his eyes and sent his senses into his body; he saw that it was a golden rune.

Woo-seong watched as this mysterious golden rune seeped into his body, he didn’t resist, and soon, it branded itself on his Energy Core/Spiritual Palace.

After a moment, Woo-seong opened his eyes. There was a bit of confusion in them.

Sol explained.

’It can hide your Innate Dharma from the Formation’s detection, but it’ll only last for at most two hours.’

Woo-seong didn’t feel anything different but he believed Sol, so he nodded.

Sol then looked at Mar-Yue and also branded her with his Heavenly Samsara Formation to hide her bloodline.

’What a profound rune.’

Mar-Yue couldn’t help but say, and she looked at Sol with a bit of envy. She too studied runes and formations, so she was interested in Sol’s Heavenly Samsara Formation.

Sol chuckled.

’Why are you so envious? It’s not like I won’t allow you to take a look at it.’

Mar-Yue suddenly smiled sweetly, but then said.

’You didn’t have to hide it, it’s not a secret among our Barbarian Race that I have the Giant Race bloodline. It has undoubtedly reached Jianghu then.’

Wei-sun was some distance up the mountain, he turned back to see that Sol and the others hadn’t started climbing yet. However, he didn’t seem bothered and only continued on his way.

Sol glanced up at the Ancestral Mountain and said.

’I would prefer it if they tried something, it would make negotiations much easier.’

Mar-Yue understood Sol’s intentions and she nodded before going back to observing the surroundings. She really wasn’t worried about the current situation, and only treated them coming to the Jeagal Clan as an extension of their outing.

Soon the three stepped forward and started climbing the staircase.

Immediately, after they stepped on the staircase, they felt as if they had passed through a barrier.

They felt their bodies being scanned and even though they were warned beforehand, they couldn’t help but frown at the invasiveness. The Formation was even checking their exact cultivation strength.

For cultivators, especially those with things to hide, would never be willing to enter this Formation. It was no wonder no one liked coming to the Jeagal Clan.

Inside Mar-Yue and Woo-seong, the golden runic mark of the Heavenly Samsara Formation flickered as the Ancient Formation scanned their bodies.

The golden rune was like a canopy that could even conceal one’s presence from the heavens themselves. Neither Mar-Yue’s bloodline nor Woo-seong’s second Wood-type Innate Dharma was discovered by the Ancient Formation.

As for Sol’s secrets, they remained undiscovered as well. Sol could have completely blocked out the scan of the Ancient Formation of his body, however, that would only draw the suspicion of others. So, he hid his bloodlines and only showed what he wanted others to see.

Sol, Mar-Yue, and Woo-seong soon got over the invasiveness of the Ancient Formation and quickly caught up to Wei-sun as they headed for the Jeagal Clan.

Upon reaching the top of the staircase, a large gate with an ancient-looking sign board that had ’Jeagal Clan’ written in elegant words above it was seen in front.

Immediately, one would get a sense of grandeur and prestige upon laying eyes on this gargantuan gate. It was obvious this entrance led to a holy ground that had years upon years of history.

Mar-Yue and Sol were slightly moved upon laying eyes on the gate, but Woo-seong was rather indifferent. His Wudang Sect was once like this as well, so he didn’t feel anything.

The three then followed Wei-sun, who casually pushed open one of the large double doors.

Immediately after entering through the gate, Sol was a bit disappointed at the sight in front of him.

There was a large open space filled with various pavilions and other buildings. Even the Aether Energy in the air was several times that of the outside world.

It was to the point that Sol saw several lakes that were condensed into liquid form from Aether Energy. Each lake had open pavilions nearby that had a few birds perched on its canopies.

The sight was what was expected of a Great Clan, an Immortal Paradise. However, the place was completely barren of people.

Even until now, Sol had not laid eyes on a true expert in the Jeagal Clan. He was even starting to wonder if the Jeagal Clan was fake.

Mar-Yue and Woo-seong were also thinking the same thing.

Wei-sun seemed to have realized what they were thinking, and he smiled as he explained.

"We have several Ancestral Mountains, and this is just one of the outermost ones that we use to invite our distinguished guests. So, aside from a few servants that come to attend the gardens and clean the pavilions, hardly anyone would be here."

Sol understood, but he and Mar-Yue were even more amazed by the Jeagal Clan. There was more than one mountain to welcome their guests, such extravagance can only be matched by the other top powers of the continent.

"Brother Sol, Miss Yue, and Brother Woo-seong feel free to choose a pavilion to your liking. My Young Master will be with you shortly to discuss matters. In the meantime, I will send over a few servants with tea while you wait."

Sol nodded before picking the nearest pavilion and leading the way over.

Wei-sun observed the three of them before he turned and closed the large wooden door.

Woo-seong suddenly glanced back at the closed door and his brows furrowed slightly.

So far, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. But Woo-seong would never trust Wei-sun or the Jeagal Clan not to make a move. So, his hand stayed on the hilt of his sword by his waist, and he kept his guard up.

Mar-Yue and Sol seemed more relaxed as they walked hand-in-hand, however, they were also on guard.
