Chapter 484: Chapter 484- Unanswered Questions

’A Lunar Eclipse? Ushi explained it by saying that it’s when the moon hides the sun. Was there Lunar Eclipses back in your time, Little Abdu?’

Sol asked and Abdu responded.

’Hm, there were, however, this one is strange. Even while inside the Formation I was able to feel it.’

Sol’s eyes widen slightly. That was right, his Heavenly Samsara Formation came from combining his Master’s Seven Runic Paths to Samsara and Su Moon’s Heavenly Canopy Formation. The latter of which was made to conceal one from the Heavens. Abdu shouldn’t have been able to sense the Lunar Eclipse happening outside while he was in his Heavenly Samsara Formation.

"Wh-What is that?!"

A cry of alarm suddenly echoed out from somewhere, and right after an eerie aura manifested in the surroundings, chilling all the disciples here. Meanwhile, in the sky, a corner of the sun suddenly disappeared. All the disciples gawked at the sight, however, a few curses immediately echoed out as it was absurd that they were trying to look directly at the sun.

However, while everyone was voluntarily blinding themselves, Sol and Ushi were looking over the edge of the cloud platform at Lunar City below. The eerie atmosphere was actually coming from below, or rather the void between Lunar City and the floating island.

Perhaps if one listened closely, they would be able to hear the uproar that was happening throughout the entirety of Lunar City right now.

’Sol, listen to me.’

Abdu’s voice suddenly sounded in Sol’s mind, snapping him out of his thoughts.

’This Lunar Eclipse is reversing Yin and Yang.’

Sol tilted his head.

’Little Abdu, what does that mean?’

’Brat, it means the Heavenly Laws themselves are being changed. As for the source of this change, it’s coming from the Formation from below us.’

’What? A Formation?’

Sol looked down at the void a bit skeptical. No matter how he observed he couldn’t sense the fluctuations associated with a Formation, only this eerie aura which wasn’t it.

’If you really could sense this Formation then the person who created it would have done a bad job. It’s a Formation that defies common sense and is no different than a Formation that forms naturally from the Heavens, just like Su Moon’s Heavenly Canopy Formation. That was the only way this person could have used a Heavenly Phenomenon like an Eclipse as a trigger to activate it.’

Sol’s eyes glistened in fascination.

’So, it’s on par with my Heavenly Samsara Formation? What Tier of Formation is it? Is it at the mythical 9 Tier? And who could have created this? Wasn’t Su Moon the Rune Immortal? Who but him could have created a Formation like this?’

Abdu seemed to roll his eyes as he said.

’It is indeed on par with your Heavenly Samsara Formation... No, it might be a bit inferior thanks to the merger of your Master’s Runic Technique. As for its Tier, did I not say it defies common sense? Those silly grades you guys came up with can’t define it. And as for who created it, it should be the Shadow Immortal. Though I’m not surprised, he was always the mysterious one among the living Immortals at that time.’

Sol became even more intrigued as he looked at the void below. He wanted to use his Heavenly Eyes to check if he could uncover this Grand Formation, but something told him that thought was a bad idea. Perhaps it would be the same as when he looked at the Spatial Formation his Master was creating when they were leaving the Ibbian Mountain Range, only this time the backlash would be immediate.

Sol shivered and dared not use his Heavenly Eyes. He soon shifted his gaze back up to the sky, and with a glance, he saw that 1/3 of the sun had disappeared.

Just as the uproar among the disciples was reaching its peak, a calm voice echoed out.

"Everyone be at ease. This is the Lunar Eclipse that will open the Shadow Dimension, there’s nothing to fear."

The calmness of the voice caused many of the youths to settle down. They then looked up to see an old man with gray hair floating above them. He was also wearing a gentle smile, which further calmed down the youths’ panicked emotions.

After seeing that the youths below him were quick to calm down, the old man nodded in admiration and said.

"I see that the powers behind you didn’t choose you to participate in this tournament on a whim. Truly young dragons and phoenixes."

The old man then glanced at the void below where Formation was, and after a moment he looked up at the Eclipse. The sun was mostly hidden by the moon at this point.

Looking back down at the youths on the cloud platforms, the old man explained with a smile.

"This phenomenon has only ever happened two times in history, and each time it occurred, the Formation sealing the entrance of our Miura Clan’s Shadow Dimension would open. This day marks the third Eclipse, but unlike previous times when our dimension is opened up without much fanfare, our Miura Clan now has the privilege to host the first round of such a grand tournament inside." ƒreewebɳovel.com

On the cloud platform, Ushi’s fists clenched tightly.

The old man paused for a moment then continued saying.

"The first round of the tournament is rather simple. Each individual is given one point, and one can either kill or force your opponent to surrender their point to accumulate points. The points will be held and calculated by your Shadowbands. Your accumulated points will also be displayed along with your performance in the dimension on the monuments set up across all the major cities on both continents. Even now the scene here is being broadcast to everyone."

A few murmurs could be heard when this detail was revealed, and the disciples began looking around while wondering how they were being observed but saw nothing.

This was the first time it was announced that their actions in the Shadow Dimension were going to be broadcast for everyone to see. All of a sudden, the gravity of this tournament came crashing down on these youths’ heads causing them to feel slightly nervous.

Despite the disciples’ murmurs, the old man continued to speak.

"The top one hundred disciples with the most points will be able to move onto the second round where there will be one-on-one stage battles. Any further information you desire to know will be available to you via your Shadowbands after you enter the Shadow Dimension. That is all."

Most of the disciples were a bit stunned upon hearing that was the end of the explanation.

How long is the first round of the tournament? Why were they required to be in factions if they had to kill each other to get points and move on to the next round? And the inheritances! What about the inheritances inside? Even if they would receive more information once inside, at the very least why couldn’t they know now?
