The Heiress' Revenge-Chapter 14
A R I A N A
Dante’s hand stayed firm on my waist as he led me through the crowded, his grip was tight, almost painful, like he was afraid I would disappear if he let go. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
The heat from his touch burned through the thin fabric of my dress making me uncomfortable.
We stopped near a quiet corner, were we for less attention. Dante turned me to face him, his dark eyes sweeping over me from head to toe.
His jaw clenched when his gaze landed on the low neckline of my dress.
"Did you wear this dress to seduce every man here," he asked, his voice low and rough, "or did you actually come for business?"
I lifted my chin, meeting his glare. "I’ll take that as a compliment."
Dante’s fingers dug into my hip. "I don’t like people staring at what’s mine."
I scoffed. "Yours? Last I checked, I signed a contract, you maybe my husband but only in the eyes of the people" I reminded.
His eyes darkened, I knew I was playing with fire but I don’t care, he wasn’t going to make me feel belittled.
"If you were trying to seduce anyone," he said slowly, leaning in so close his breath brushed my ear, "it should be me your husband."
I laughed a sharp, mocking sound. "Why would I seduce you when there are far better men here?"
The moment the words left my mouth, I knew I had crossed a line.
Dante’s grip on me turned bruising he yanked me against him, his free hand tangling in the hair at the nape of my neck, forcing my head back.
His lips hovered dangerously close to mine.
"Be careful, carino," he murmured, the endearment laced with warning. "You’re playing with fire."
I swallowed hard, my pulse racing. His scent suddenly feeling choking, something wild filled my senses. His body pressed against mine left no space between us, no room to breathe away from his mint breath.
I felt my nipples harden at the contact of his chests on mine.
I wanted to push him away.
I wanted to pull him closer.
God this man was making me feel things I am never suppose to feel.
The fear that lingered in my eyes made him smirk, his thumb brushing over the rapid flutter of my pulse.
"Tell me to stop," he challenged, his voice a rough whisper as his other moved underneath my dress.
He rubbed slightly in my thighs as he reached my core.
I was drenched, I bit on my lower lip trying so hard to hold a moan.
"My dirty little Carino is wet" he mocked.
I hated him, I hated the way he made me feel.
His smirk widened, without another word, he released me and stepped back, straightening his suit jacket like nothing had happened.
"Come," he said, holding out his hand. "We have appearances to keep."
I stared at his outstretched hand, my heart still pounding my core still needy.
This man would be the death of me.
The event went on we had discussion with the Japanese investors and luckily we were able to secure the deal and reach an agreement.
I was tired, very exhausted myy feet hurt from standing in heels all night not to forget how my face hurt from fake smiling.
I just wanted to go home, take off this tight dress, and sleep.
As people started leaving, I grabbed my small purse and turned toward the exit. I needed to get out of this place before I lose my sanity.
As I made my way out I felt a pair of hands, wrapped around my waist.
I gasped as Dante pulled me against his side.
"Where do you think you’re going?" he asked, his voice low and rough.
"Home," I said, trying to pull away.
Dante chuckled darkly. "We’re leaving together."
"No!"
"I wasn’t asking"
Then, before I could argue more, he bent down and scooped me right off my feet! One arm under my knees, the other behind my back.
I yelped in surprise, my hands flying to his shoulders to steady myself.
"Put me down!" I hissed, my face burning as people turned to stare.
Dante ignored me he carried me through the crowd like I weighed nothing his muscles didn’t even strain under my weight.
"Stop fighting it, you look tired"
I didn’t answer cause I knew he was right.
His driver already had the car door open as we walked out.
He dropped me in the back seat, the backseat before sliding in beside me.
"Drive," he ordered, and the car pulled away.
I scrambled to sit up straight, smoothing my wrinkled dress.
My heart pounded in my chest.
"That was very unnecessary" I hissed knowing very well we were going to make it to the headlines tomorrow.
I pressed myself against my door, putting as much space between us as possible.
Dante didn’t speak. He ignored me like he wasn’t the one that had just scooped me up in his arms.
I hissed keeping my mouth shut for the rest of the ride.
