The Herb King-Chapter 286 - General Trevor and the Royal Dragon Pavilion
286 General Trevor and the Royal Dragon Pavilion
General Trevor’s eyes flashed briefly as he nodded his head. “Who doesn’t want to meet the person who is ranked 5th in the Heavenly Might Rankings? This old man wants to see what kind of godly figure he is.” He chuckled while saying this. He was also a Level 5 Esper, but there was a big difference between him and those in the top 10 of the rankings.
Eliazar laughed lightly as he said. “Let’s go see him!”
“Alright.”
The two turned into a ray of light and disappeared.
In another part of the city, the participants of the competition and their guardians solemnly stared at the Gryphons in the sky. They were already prepared to launch their strongest attacks, but they were held back by the soldiers.
“Halt! The magical beasts are friendly! Don’t attack them!”
“Don’t attack! They are participants from the Leone Empire!”
The participants and the guardians immediately retracted their aura when they heard the soldiers. However, they were shocked when they realized that the terrifying creatures above were actually the entourage of the Leone Empire. No one has come to West Ocean City with such an exaggerated show of force!
“Leone Empire? I think I’ve heard of it before.”
.....
“That’s where Sir Aethelwolf Lassiter lives!”
“Oh, right! Now I remember!”
“Is that Sir Aethelwolf’s mount? How amazing! He could actually tame such a ferocious creature!”
Under everyone’s stupefied gazes, the Gryphons soon landed on the ground. It was only at this moment that everyone noticed the Shadow Guards riding the Level 4 Gryphons. Their focus was on the Level 5 Gryphon so almost everyone didn’t see these mysterious riders.
One of the Shadow Guards jumped down from his Gryphon. He walked towards the carriage tied to the Level 5 Golden Horned Gryphon and opened its door, revealing the people inside.
Aethelwolf was the first one to exit the carriage, followed by Alec and the other young elites of the Leone Empire.
The people of West Ocean City sized them up curiously. Most of them were looking at Aethelwolf who seemed to be the guardian of this entourage.
“Sir Aethelwolf, I’m happy to see you!” A joyful laughter echoed in the skies as two figures landed in front of Aethelwolf.
“Sir Eliazar, I didn’t know that you were here!” Aethelwolf shook hands with the man. Because of Eliazar, he was listed as 5th in the Heavenly Might Rankings. He was only an early stage Level 5 Esper when they last fought, and he wondered how strong Eliazar was now.
Eliazar chuckled at his words. He then turned his gaze to the old general standing beside him and said. “By the way, this gentleman is General Trevor. He is ranked 19th in the Heavenly Might Rankings.”
Aethelwolf’s eyes flashed when he heard this. “So it’s General Trevor! I’ve heard a lot about you!” He shook hands with the old man.
“I’m just an ordinary old man. You flatter me.” General Trevor laughed lightly as he sized up Aethelwolf.
“You’re too humble, General Trevor. From what I heard, you are formerly a Holy General of the Mystic Island, but you resigned and took the duty of becoming a General here in West Ocean City.” Aethelwolf didn’t underestimate the experts of the Heavenly Might Rankings and he made detailed research on each one of them. This old general was a ferocious character in his younger years and he was definitely not some ordinary old man as he said.
“This place isn’t the best place to chat. Follow me. I’ll take you guys somewhere fun but before that... I think it’s best if you bring your people somewhere more private. After all, not everyone is brave enough to be in the presence of a Level 5 magical beast.” General Trevor muttered as he looked at the Gryphons that were emitting bloodthirsty auras.
Hearing this, Aethelwolf smiled and made a hand gesture.
One of the Shadow Guards whistled and the other Shadow Guards immediately commanded their Gryphons to fly away. The Level 5 Golden Horner Gryphon stared at Aethelwolf for a moment before it followed the others.
“You guys can follow us.” Aethelwolf muttered to Alec and the others.
General Trevor and Eliazar were both shocked at how the bloodthirsty Gryphons were so tamed especially the Level 5 Golden Horned Gryphon. It was known for its defiant nature, but it was actually very obedient to Aethelwolf.
“Let’s go.” General Trevor led the group to the best restaurant in the city.
Meanwhile, the crowd was still reeling in shock as they watched them leave.
“So that person is Sir Aethelwolf Lassiter. He looks so young and handsome!”
“Haven’t you guys noticed the young people who came with him? All of them are Level 3 Espers!”
A Level 3 Esper could already become a high-ranking personnel in an empire. Nurturing one at that level should take time and huge amounts of resources, but the young people who came with Aethelwolf were actually Level 3 Espers!
“It looks like a dark horse has joined the competition...”
“The Leone Empire will probably make it to the Holy Rankings after this competition...”
Only the top ten empires of the Regalis Continent are eligible to be listed in the Holy Rankings. They have the strongest experts and the highest standard of living. Everyone wants to become citizens of these empires!
General Trevor brought everyone to a restaurant called Royal Dragon Pavilion. Everyone quickly noticed that the diners here were no ordinary people. All of them were top itinerant experts or important members of major powers! There were also many participants of the competition dining here with their guardians.
“Not a bad place, right?” General Trevor smiled when he saw the young elites’ amazed expressions.
“Indeed. It looks like the owner of this restaurant isn’t an ordinary figure.” Aethelwolf nodded his head. He detected the runes inscribed in the restaurant were high-leveled. Even a Level 5 Esper would have a hard time attacking this place. Furthermore, the guards here were Level 4 and Level 3 Espers!
