The Herbal Scents of Farm Life-Chapter 3006 - 3007: Very Reluctant to Admit It
"It’s you."
Lin Caisang was quite interested in it and said with a smile.
After all, if it weren’t for it, they wouldn’t have managed to obtain the jade mouse from the old clan leader’s hands so easily, and then get that half of the corpse-suppressing amulet from the forbidden forest.
"Why are you here again? Didn’t they say that the underwater spirit fish can’t speak to the spirit beasts on land?"
"You’re not spirit beasts, so what are you afraid of?" The spirit fish said dismissively, pouting.
It’s just the rule not to speak to spirit beasts. Now that it was speaking to humans, what was it afraid of? Even if it were discovered, the clan leader couldn’t find fault with it, could they?
"So, did you find what you were looking for? Was that forbidden forest scary?" it hurriedly asked.
"Well... how should I put it?"
Lin Caisang paused, surprised that the spirit fish was inquiring about their venture into the forbidden forest, and immediately felt that something was off.
"The forbidden forest is quite dangerous. After entering, we didn’t see any of the spirit beasts that previously strayed in, so they were probably all dead.
We were lucky to have a token with us, so we didn’t die in there."
"Blub blub blub!" 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
Suddenly, the sound of several bubbles rising came to Lin Caisang’s ears.
She looked down to see that another spirit fish brought by the one speaking with her was so frightened by her words that it didn’t know what to do.
"Is it really that dangerous? What should we do? Yao, will they be in danger inside?"
"No, no, the forbidden pool and the forbidden forest are different; nothing will happen." Yao, though panicked by its words, kept calm and reassured it.
"This, this..."
The spirit fish couldn’t believe its words. No danger, nothing would happen—just their guesses from outside.
"What’s wrong?"
Lin Caisang watched them, heard their words, and had a faint guess in her heart.
"Do you have a friend who entered the forbidden pool?"
"Uh."
The two spirit fishes were rendered speechless by her question.
Reluctant as they were to admit it, they ultimately had to concede that a friend had indeed entered the forbidden pool and never came out.
"Yes, we had a friend, and we don’t know why he insisted on going to the forbidden pool, but nothing could stop him, and since entering, he hasn’t come out."
Yao’s voice carried a hint of dejection as he spoke.
Upon hearing this, Lin Caisang raised an eyebrow but said nothing.
If she wasn’t mistaken, the reason this spirit fish named Yao sought them out was likely because its friend had gone into the forbidden pool.
And it wanted to see if they could come out after entering the forbidden forest.
That’s why, when they returned to the outside, Yao quickly came to find her, apparently waiting for them to return, wasn’t it?
"Do you want to rescue him?" she asked.
"Yes, we want to save him, but..." Yao began to speak, then faltered, unsure of what to say.
"The idea of wanting to rescue a friend isn’t wrong, but the truth is, even now, if you enter the forbidden pool, it’s not certain that you’d be able to save your friend, you do realize that, don’t you?"
Lin Caisang reminded them.
The forbidden forest on land was already so dangerous, so the forbidden pool is likely just as treacherous.
