The Hero of Hypnosis-Chapter 50: Troublemaker
Chapter 50: Troublemaker
"Oh, that’s cool, I guess. Well, now that you’re all healed up, you can be on your way." Kai wanted nothing to do with someone of that importance, and he thought it would be best to part ways before anything serious happened
"W-Wait! You’re going to leave me? As your princess, I demand that you take me to safety." Tyria knew she would be in danger if Kai and Gwen left her. Judging by how her pursuers were killed, she assumed they were powerful and thought it about be best to stick with them for now.
"Bitch, even if you were a god I still wouldn’t listen to you. Fuck off and leave us alone." While Kai could hypnotize her, he didn’t think that it was necessary. Not only that, he wasn’t trying to mind control every person he came across.
Gwen tugged at his shirt. "Kai, she’s the princess!" frёeωebɳovel.com
"And?"
"We could get a reward if we help her out!"
He looked at Tyria, and she was nodding in agreement with Gwen.
"No. Gwen, if I weren’t as strong as I was, we would have been dead. Even if we didn’t help her and wanted no part in whatever’s going on in the royal family, we still would have been killed because we saw what those men were going to do to her. We should have been silenced."
"That’s fair, however, that didn’t happen." She argued
Kai grabbed his head in frustration. "No, listen. Being involved with her means we’ll have a target on our backs. The strongest person there was Tier-6, so what if they send someone stronger? I may be tier-10, but I’m at the bottom of that Tier. If someone stronger than me comes after us, we’re fucked. Better yet, what if we get framed? Or hunted? Hell, even if we do successfully transport her back to the capital, what’s stopping others from coming after us simply because we helped her? The risks are way too high. At least monsters are predictable."
Tyria chimed in. "I’ll make sure that doesn’t happen."
"Bitch, you couldn’t even make sure to keep your life intact. Shut the fuck up."
Her head drooped, and she sat in front of a tree.
Now that Kai had spelled things out for her, Gwen understood where he was coming from. Was she willing to risk her life just for some reward that she didn’t know she would get? Like Kai said, the risks were too high.
"I understand." She nodded.
Tyria lunged for Kai’s leg. "Please don’t leave me! I’ll have no one! I’m scared! Don’t go!" She sobbed uncontrollably.
"And end up like the people who were supposed to protect you? No thanks."
Tyria understood where he was coming from, but that still didn’t mean she wanted him to go. But suddenly, she remembered something.
"Wait! I have a guard!" She shouted.
"What?"
She stood up, brushing the dirt off he skirt. "I have a guard. She was with me while I was shopping for some clothes. She’s strong, very strong. If you can get me to her, then all will be well."
"Unhuh, so why wasn’t this guard with you from the start?" Kai asked
Tyria blushed in embarrassment. "I sort of...ran away."
"Yeah, we’re leaving."
"Noooooo! Wait! I’ll be good! I promise!"
"You expect us to believe that when you ran away from YOUR OWN GUARDS?! What’s stopping you from doing the same thing to us?"
She got on her knees. "I’ll be good! I promise! I won’t run away. I simply wanted to explore and have fun. They are all, ’rules this and rules that,’ it’s so boring. I just want to go on an adventure."
Kai paused. He thought about her situation. He looked at her, properly this time, from head to toe.
"Y-You know I’m still a princess. I could have you hanged for looking at me this way." She blushed. However, seeing as that didn’t faze Kai, she spoke again. "But I’ll allow it because you saved my life."
"Tell me, how often do you leave the castle?" He asked
"Oh, I leave the castle often. I go to dinners, celebrations, events, plays, musicals-"
"How often do you leave the castle to do the things you want to do?" Kai rephrased his words.
"Never." She admitted. "This was the first time I was able to leave the castle for fun."
"So why the fuck did you run away?"
"I don’t know. I thought it would be fun if my guards chased me."
Gwen was laughing, and Kai rubbed his temples.
"Do you know if your guard will be looking for you? Well, obviously, she will. What I mean to ask is if you had a destination in mind before you got chased by those men."
"Umm, my father told me that I couldn’t leave Brightfield Town, so my guard is probably there looking for me."
"The fuck?! You ran all the way here from Brightfield?" Gwen asked
Tyria shook her head. "No. I hitched a few carriages here and there. But it wasn’t enough to get away from those men."
Kai then remembered something. "Oh yeah, speaking of them. I heard them say they had to report back to someone named Thorax. Ring a bell?"
Tyria froze. Her body started shaking, and she started sweating profusely. She looked at Kai with a shocked expression, but also one of betrayal and confusion.
When Gwen asked if everything was okay, Tyria didn’t answer.
It was only after she stopped shaking and calmed herself that she finally spoke up. "I-I know that name. It’s the name of my uncle."
"Ahh, sounds about right. You royals always kill each other. I thought he would be some evil villain or something." Earth was famous for its stories about Royal family members killing each other. It was practically common knowledge in his time. Literally, the Ptolemaic Dynasty was known for its family murders.
"What do you mean that sounds about right? Why would my uncle want to kill me?" Tyria cried.
"Because of power, stupid. Geez, how old are you, five?"
"Fifty-two." She corrected him.
"Damn! And you’re still this naive?"
"Kai, Elves age differently from humans. She is probably about our age in elf years or something." Gwen informed him.
"Oh, got it. Anyway. I’ve decided that I’ll let you hang with us for a bit. But only until we reach Brightfield, since we were heading there anyway. In the meantime, try not to cause any trouble."
