The Informal Tomb Raiding Diary: She is the occupant of the tomb!-Chapter 276 - 259: Strange Sight on Video
I couldn’t help but recall that girl I saw during the day; her behavior was like an animal.
Around 1 a.m., police sirens echoed through the city, and police cars drove past the street; I didn’t know what had happened.
Chen Qinghan came over to knock on the door, saying he needed to go to the town hospital and told me to be careful myself.
He left in a hurry, and I didn’t ask for details. However, Wang Datou sent me a message—he had added me on WeChat while in the car—and now he sent me a few photos.
The first photo showed the hospital ward door, with a face imprinted on the window above it. Unlike the "teacher’s death stare," this face had no eyes—or more accurately, no eyeballs—with eyelids collapsed inwardly over empty sockets.
Some blind people looked like this as well. I didn’t understand Wang Datou’s intention in sending this photo, so I opened the second one, taken through the door gap of the corridor.
At first glance, the corridor seemed normal, but a closer look revealed that same face from outside the window now appeared in the lower-left corner of the photo, at the corridor’s turn.
The angle suggested this person was lying on the ground, peeking around the corner at Wang Datou.
Having a head in that spot must have frightened Wang Datou, which might explain why the last two photos were askew—likely taken accidentally in his panic.
No normal person would lie on the floor to look at someone, especially considering the person in the photo appeared blind and shouldn’t have been able to see Wang Datou.
Yet the feeling from the photo suggested she could "see" the photographer; the "look" was perfectly aligned without any deviation.
Wang Datou quickly sent a voice message, speaking in a hushed voice, saying there was a ghost in the hospital.
Late into the night, just looking at the first two photos was indeed eerie, but claiming it was a ghost might be an exaggeration.
I told him that Chen Qinghan had already gone over, then suddenly realized something was off. Hadn’t Wang Datou called Chen Qinghan to the hospital?
As expected, Wang Datou was a bit surprised to hear that Chen Qinghan was there, and remarked how Boss Chen seemed to have foreseen this, marveling at his omniscience.
If Chen Qinghan wasn’t summoned by Wang Datou, then his visit was likely ordered by higher-ups, indicating something "abnormal" was happening at the hospital.
I told Wang Datou to lock the doors and windows. He said several police cars were parked at the hospital entrance, and he heard the sound of glass shattering and someone screaming in another ward. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Now, that face had returned to their ward door; inside were just two patients plus Wang Datou as the caretaker. The other patient was an eighty-year-old man. Liu Laonian was still laying low, leaving Wang Datou as the only line of defense.
He considered himself as "combat capable," which made me look at the chat box with a smirk. In a crisis, arrogance is futile; such delusions surely lead to defeat, so I reminded him to barricade the door with an empty hospital bed and avoid confrontation.
Wang Datou straightforwardly initiated a video call, asking what to do next while pushing the bed to block the door.
Crash—
The glass on the ward door shattered, and a clawed hand reached through, its three-inch nails nearly scraping Wang Datou’s face.
Startled, Wang Datou cried out and stepped back two paces. Liu Laonian, sitting wrapped in a quilt on the bed, shivered into a tight ball.
The figure outside began banging on the door, and the bed blocking it started giving way. I immediately instructed, "Hold the bed upright."
The bed was positioned across the door, allowing the arms outside to reach in; factoring in the claws, Wang Datou was indeed in danger of being reached.
Heeding my advice, he hesitated to leave the door as he tried to maneuver other beds. I caught sight of a cabinet by the wall. "Pull that nightstand over and wedge it against the bed," I suggested.
Hearing this, Liu Laonian hastily pushed the nightstand toward Wang Datou, who was sweating profusely as he dragged it over to brace the bed.
With the cabinet added, the intruding claw could no longer reach Wang Datou. It was then that two gunshots rang out from outside.
The shots almost knocked Liu Laonian off the bed as Wang Datou, pressing his back against the cabinet and covering his head with his hands, shut his eyes tightly in fear.
Observing their expressions, I sighed softly; these two able-bodied adults were less composed than the eighty-year-old man.
I could see the entire situation in the ward clearly, thanks to our "cameraman" doing his job diligently. Even amid gunfire, the phone’s camera remained steady.
The repeated gunshots, fired from different positions, indicated that the initial shots hadn’t resolved the issue.
The figure outside continued to move, even jumping, until the sound of human screams echoed from beyond the door.
