The Informal Tomb Raiding Diary: She is the occupant of the tomb!-Chapter 299 - 266: The Tomb Owner’s Lameness Is Definitely Not Simple
"The tiger shows its might..." Zhaosi seemed to have had enough, the smile vanished from his face, leaving only a boundless coldness in his eyes.
Crunch crunch crunch—
The humanoid black smoke turned into a giant hand and crushed the tomb master in its palm; other skeletons were engulfed by the black smoke that suddenly appeared in the tomb chamber, creating a crisp sound that blended together. I imagine people who crush instant noodles for stress relief would love this sound.
As the black smoke dissipated, the layer of bones reached my waist, with half of my body buried in the bone pile.
I brushed off the bone residue from my body, opened my medicine bag to continue supplementing myself. At this moment, standing in the tomb chamber were only four security guards, Zhaosi, me, and the female white-collar worker—seven people in total.
All those masked individuals were drained of blood by the skeletons. Their bullets did manage to deal with some of the skeletons, but unfortunately, they didn’t get a chance to change magazines.
The tomb master’s body was lifted by the black smoke, suspended in mid-air, Zhaosi looked left and right, as if appreciating a piece of art.
The female white-collar worker lifted her box, "Mind if I clean up a bit?"
She was about to unleash the bugs, so I embraced the big white bug and retreated into the kitchen. With it present, those small bugs dared not wander around.
This time, the ravenous bugs emerging only consumed the bones on the ground and the corpses of her subordinates.
I peeked and watched the bugs resembling ants for a while. These things could definitely help solve global environmental problems. White trash polluting the ocean—how great would it be to send them for a feast?
"Do you sell these bugs? How much per pound?" I wanted to become a contributing zongzi to society; environmental protection seemed like a good entry point.
"You can’t control them." The female white-collar worker put away the bell and glanced at me dismissively.
"Is it hard to learn?" I have never cared much about others’ attitudes; ’face’ is absent in my dictionary.
"Ha, it’s unlearnable." The female white-collar worker bluntly dashed my aspirations.
The thunderous but inconsequential revenge attempt ended with the tomb master’s swift defeat, which made it seem even more bizarre to me.
Suddenly, the big white bug rolled its body, its belly facing me, and curled up, wrapping me up. Bug curling—does this mean fear?
Indeed, its body shivered slightly, giving me a sense that it was quite frightened.
Four security guards had already fainted, and the female white-collar worker had no intention of fighting further—her subordinates fed to the skeletons, and she witnessed Zhaosi’s abilities. If she continued insisting on moving the coffin, she would end up consumed as well.
They began chatting; the female white-collar worker asked Zhaosi which realm she hailed from, wondering which school she learned her magical skills from.
Zhaosi concocted a fake identity, neither mentioning my clan nor admitting these were her skills, but passively confirming the other’s magical assumption.
I held the big white bug and walked to the main tomb chamber’s door, where it trembled more vigorously. The other side of the tomb passage was silent. Shunfeng lifted the coffin lid slightly, poked his head out, and asked if they could come out.
I waved him down to close the coffin lid, suggesting it was temporarily better to stay put as something seemed to be descending.
"Stop chatting; aren’t you curious how an incompetent tomb master managed to return?"
"Obviously, he possesses the ability to control living people, letting him manipulate others for smuggling." The female white-collar worker answered as if dealing with an apparent question.
"Oh, that’s how." I held the big white bug, retreating into the kitchen, and turned my gaze to Zhaosi: "I’m a patient; I’m not participating in the fight."
Zhaosi glared at me contemptuously, "Coward."
The black smoke transported the coffin back to the inner chamber, leaving only her and the female white-collar worker in the main tomb chamber. The latter was inexplicably still attempting to keep chatting with Zhaosi, actually wanting to persuade her into selling the coffin and the big white bug, proposing a high price for acquisition.
Unable to apply force, she softened; the price was freely set by Zhaosi, claiming her boss has deep pockets.
Were I Zhaosi, I would certainly agree—this coffin, even if it truly can resurrect people, would produce half-alive beings, monsters—surely destroyed by relevant departments in minutes. The deal would be profitable without loss.
Yet Zhaosi still refused to sell, citing that the coffin ensures her peace. Hear that—anyone talking about using a coffin as a peace charm?
But upon reflection, it dawned on me that she possibly needs the coffin to conceal her aura. However, if the coffin is her reason to remain here, why wouldn’t she take it with her?
Bang—
A massive shockwave toppled me hiding beside the kitchen door. This shockwave only impacted people, not walls, so the ancient tomb remained intact, but we all were knocked to the ground.
