The Invincible Full-Moon System-Chapter 1166: Make It Be Nothing
Later that night, Dargena City.
It was a hectic day, everyone was overwhelmed by a lot of things—but when the night came, tranquility returned as people retreated to their homes once again. In the heart of the city—a masked figure could be seen walking out of the hospital.
Prof. K had finished his last checkup.
He was seriously ill before turning into a Werewolf, so he was still skeptical about his health.
But seems like he could breathe easily now.
Under the new abnormal regeneration of his Werewolf constitution—the illness inside of him was being healed faster than it could form. As long as he remains a Werewolf, he won't need to worry about the illness anymore.
So since there's no turning back—becoming a Human again, his illness is basically gone.
Coursing through the street, there were still some people walking by.
Mostly—these people came out of the pubs after a night of drinking.
"I couldn't blame them, I also need a drink" Prof. K mused lightly, shaking his head.
Instead of heading back, to his home—Prof. K went to his temporary office, near the castle's entrance. He stayed there the majority of the time, slowly building his own private lab. Aside from him, Giana was also there.
People were coming to them for advice, Awakened or not.
Nobody would've passed the chance to consult with Giana, a former ninth-rank realm entity.
Other than that, others also needed help or insight from Prof. K.
Gelmar, Dindora, and Linthia for instance.
All of the three captains didn't know the basics of Human societal structure—there was a lot, that the three of them didn't understand, or know. Due to that—they frequently asked Prof. K about their troubles.
Mostly, they were talking about the city's problems.
Going to the Silverstar Pack all the time would've been uncomfortable for them.
On the other hand, talking with Prof. K or even Giana is way easier.
Something small should be handled by them without the need for the Silverstar Pack.
Upon entering the office, he was greeted by a modern interior design.
Prof. K couldn't believe that he was outside of the Human territory with all the modern style design—and technology that existed in the city. He felt surreal most of the time but he was getting used to it.
Being able to create all of this was still a mystery.
Rex didn't seem to only have forceful power, he had something beyond that.
"I wouldn't even be surprised if he's secretly a genius inventor too at this point," He mused.
Going to a room on the corner, he went inside and looked around.
It was a warehouse, there are not a long of things in it.
At the center of the warehouse was a head of a beast put on a small wooden platform, it was the beast that he, and Giana fought by the decree of Rex. Because of the hectic situations, it was hard to find the time to give it to Rex, but now, he was going to.
Taking the beast's head with him, he left the office again.
Upon leaving and nearing the castle, he glanced to the right, sensing a spike in energy.
Frowning—he quickly went to the source of the energy, and found that it was coming from a building not too far away that looked like the Colosseum. Entering the place, he found that it was exactly as the Colosseum looks like with an open arena at the center.
Nobody was here as the place hasn't currently been run and regulated.
Reaching the inside, he found Flunra was already there standing in watch at the open arena.
Located at the center of the spacious arena was a beast.
It didn't take long for Prof. K to recognize the beast to be none other than Delta.
She seemed to be experiencing an agonizing pain, and her aura was spiking uncontrollably.
"Is that mutated wolf okay?" Prof. K asked, confused about the situation.
Upon hearing this—Flunra shrugged his shoulders, "I don't know. She ate a bunch of Passue Carcasses, that the Emperor gave her—and now she's like this. I brought her here when she was being weird. I assume she's evolving again, it's the Passues' carcasses after all"
Considering that the Passues were extremely strong, Delta is sure to evolve again.
Each one of the Passue is at least in the ninth-rank realm—while the stronger ones are in the peak of the ninth-rank realm. Naturally, with Delta being merely in the near eighth-rank realm—her body would be overflowing with energy.
Flunra expected that she would evolve after eating one Passue carcass.
He saw Delta eating slowly earlier and was prepared to step in if she was going to evolve.
But it took some carcasses before her body, reacted to the rigorous energy that it was being provided with, which was quite surprising. Additionally—it was because of that Flunra was in time to bring her away.
Squinting his eyes, inspecting Delta—Prof. K shook his head in disagreement.
"Evolution will not start like this" He refuted. "I think it's a mutation rather than an evolution"
Just like a worm turning into a butterfly—mutated animals would form a cocoon of energy in an evolution process—a metamorphosis before they are reborn, in an enhanced state. Since there was no cocoon of energy from Delta, it doesn't seem like an evolution.
Upon hearing this, Flunra nodded as Prof. K's suspicion made sense.
Knowing that there might be a blowback from this mutation, with Delta, having a high chance of being unable to control her new power or even worse, going berserk—Flunra and Prof. K in preparation went ahead and secured the arena so that the situation with Delta's mutation will not influence the peace outside.
People were already resting, and it's going to be bad if Delta goes berserk right now.
City guards are fewer in the night, so that would not be ideal.
After doing that, they both reunited once more.
Flunra couldn't help but ask, "What are you doing to do with that beast's head?"
"Oh, this?" Prof. K lifted the head. "I was going to go see the Emperor and give it to him"
"The Emperor is in closed-door training—you will have to wait to do that. He is preparing for the change brought by the Second Breath, so don't disturb him. I'll come, and call you when he's finished"
Gaining the news, Prof. K nodded in understanding, "Not a good time again it seems,"
Meanwhile, on the other side of the city.
Located at a square-shaped street intersection—there was a big building, adorned with sky-high pillars—and a gate guarded by powerful Awakened—all are in the seventh-rank realm. It was the advanced teleportation formation place, which is why it's guarded heavily.
Its strategic importance was too high for it to be left unguarded.
Currently, three Awakened were guarding the very front of the entrance.
Each of them exchanged looks oddly, stealing glances to the side where a woman sat.
She seemed to be exhausted—the bag under her eyes showed that she had been awake for days already—and was now on the brink of passing out. All three guards noticed her, as she had already been here for days on end.
Naturally, seeing the three guards didn't disturb her, they must recognized her.
It was Naela, an important figure in the city.
She had been waiting patiently here for Kyran to depart but he never came.
Taking Adhara's warning to heart, she was determined to go with Kyran no matter what.
Due to that, she stayed here without even eating or sleeping, fearing that Kyran might leave her at any moment. If Kyran wanted, he could sneak from her senses easily, but he wouldn't be that petty.
Regardless, Naela stubbornly waited—but sleepiness was already weighing heavily on her.
It looked like she was going to pass asleep any moment now, her head nudging up and down.
But then, she was jolted awake when she sensed a figure approaching.
Gaining nothing but disappointment from each passerby who turned out not to be Kyran, she raised her eyes lazily. She had little hope, that this one would be Kyran, as the other previous ones, but she was proved wrong.
Unlike the previous instances, she found that it was really Kyran.
Naela rubbed her eyes repeatedly to make sure that she was not asleep or hallucinating, and her eyes sparkled when she realized that it was really Kyran. Even then, he didn't spare even a glance at her and kept on walking.
He didn't greet or even say anything to her, treating as if she didn't exist.
Kyran went straight to the teleportation formation place slowly, almost relaxedly.
Seeing this—Naela's eyes dimmed but she still quickly stood up and rushed to his side.
"Kyran!" She shouted. "What took you so long? I thought you were never going to leave"
Sparing no attention, he replied coldly, "I was securing the forest,"
"Unlike you who doesn't seem to be doing anything useful, I have things to do" He added.
His words were like vicious daggers as Naela clutched her chest.
However, it only needed a deep exhale for her to recover from those cold words—she didn't mind his tone, and went to stick close to him—intending to go alongside him to wherever he was going.
Naela would not take no for an answer, especially after waiting for days.
At the sight of him, the three guards bowed instantly to greet him before opening the fence.
Since the coronation, Kyran has been recognized anywhere he goes inside the city.
Because of that, he was already used to this.
Giving the appropriate amount of elemental stones to fuel the teleportation formation, Kyran stepped inside, and ascended the long stairs to reach a circle-shaped, open place. He stood at the center, with Naela closely following behind him and stood by his side.
On the other hand, the guards put the elemental stones to activate the formation.
It glowed with colorful mana when the elemental stones were in place.
As that happened, Kyran looked to the side at Naela with a raised eyebrow, "Get off..."
"No, I'm coming with you whether you like it or not" Naela rebutted, hugging his arm tightly.
But this made Kyran push her away by the face—keeping Naela an arm-length away, "Do not come with me, there's no point in you coming, you don't have the stomach for it, and I'm sure not going to take care of you if you're being a burden"
Pouting, Naela stood right in front of him, looking into his eyes, "I won't be a burden" frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
"If you expected me to be a burden then you're in for a big disappointment because I am way stronger than you think. I only need a chance—and I can show it to you. I am sorry to say this but don't underestimate me, please" She continued determinedly.
Listening to this, Kyran scoffed lightly and paid her no mind.
He didn't believe anything that Naela said.
In his eyes—he could notice the slight sweat drizzling down the side of her face, the beating heart inside her chest—and even the fake strong expression, she was wearing—all indicated the exact opposite of what she said.
She was nervous to come with him, and he knew that.
Adhara told her something, he didn't listen to it but he knew that Adhara made her do this.
Even then, he decided to let Naela come with him.
Kyran didn't put her in his eyes, but he couldn't help but be slightly interested in whether she would really be strong enough to witness—what he was about to do. 'Regardless if she came or not, I won't go easy on those who tried to harm Evelyn...'
Making a promise to himself, he nodded firmly as he couldn't be soft on the Dark Elves.
Just like that, the entire formation glowed.
In a flash, Kyran and Neala's forms dissipated into energy, shooting into the black sky.
Both were teleported, and their destination was the Dark Elf Kingdom.
Meanwhile, in the Dark Elf Kingdom, inside a particular mansion near the Great Dark Tree.
Despite the night being as silent as it ever has, Bevryth who was already sleeping as she was desperately in need of it to tackle the tiring days suddenly woke up. She sat on her bed—and looked around, confused as to why she was awake suddenly like this.
She had never done this before.
However, she then reaches for her chest, feeling a bad premonition swelling in the air.
Concerned, she put on her robe and went to the front yard to get some fresh air.
Bevryth walked out of the door and saw that the guards were still outside.
She didn't notify them and remained silent, wanting nothing to happen tonight.
Minutes passed as she contemplated in silence—but then her body stiffened suddenly, when she heard the guards were talking, and they were not talking to themselves. Seems like there was a visitor.
Pivoting around, she bit her lips and looked at the guards, "Please make it be nothing..."
