The Invincible Full-Moon System-Chapter 1535: Stepping Out
It came in snippets earlier—the memories.
But now, Rex has already digested everything Kei Xun said that day completely.
He now understood that to make a true leap in power, one great enough to give him the power to defeat Void, save everyone, and face the looming catastrophe threatening his home, he had to reach the so-called first stage of invincibility.
That is his next path.
And somehow, the key to reaching that stage lies in the Invincible Apparition.
Kei Xun's words indicated clearly that the Invincible Apparition was a part of being a Scion.
It wasn't unique to only him, and it was also not the Inner Fang of a Werewolf.
Rex needed to know how badly, but for now, he's going to do what he can do.
He still doesn't trust the Invincible Apparition, but there was no harm in befriending it.
Perhaps, he'd gained some useful insights that way.
Other than that, he also experienced a change in his plan.
In the Spirit Realm, he decided to change his approach to becoming worthy enough to be respected by the Spirit Emperor. Reaching the Eternal Spirit rank is already—an incredibly tough feat given the limited time.
Rex now knew he needed to tame the Dark Auctoritas Echo.
And that's not something easy to do.
He couldn't even begin to grasp the path—toward breaking through to the Master Eternal Spirit rank, let alone reaching the Divine Spirit rank, where true respect was earned. Now, with time slipped away, he finally understood the harsh truth: It was impossible.
So instead, he's going to take another approach.
Earning the Spirit Emperor's respect can be done through other methods.
Being strong is one way, and creating an Original Echo is another.
As far as Rex was concerned, there was little to nobody in this realm that could do that.
Perhaps, the method to do that has already been lost in the annals of time—or perhaps there were requirements that the current spirits weren't able to fulfill. Regardless of the reason, the fact still stands that only a few could do this.
Of course, bargaining with the Selection Tickets he got from the System is also plausible.
But that still demanded power.
A weak person like him knowing information about a powerful Original Echo is already very dangerous.
Using it as a bargaining chip? That's going to be a suicide.
So, creating an Original Echo is the best thing he could aim for right now.
From the information he bought from the System to create an Original Echo, first, he needed a source of real power. Higher beings, basically Gods, must be present to charge the Echo with their power.
Such a thing made Rex recall the Supernatural races back in the Mortal Realm.
All of them had a God they worshipped.
Be it Mother Nature, the Lunirich Gods, the Blood God, or any other Gods he didn't know.
It was their Origin who made a pact and turned themselves into a reflection of the said Gods.
But it was different here.
In the Spirit Realm, the Gods' powers were contained within an Echo.
A Godly item that contained all kinds of power.
And that said, the Echo would then give power and change those who wield it.
According to the knowledge etched into his mind, an Echo is composed of multiple layers. each varying in number depending on the Echo itself. Every layer holds a unique power or blessing from the God who imbued it.
As a Spirit advances, the Echo they've merged with matures, and its layers begin to unlock.
One after another.
It would slowly change the Spirit, becoming a reflection of the said God.
In the Mortal Realm, everyone was a reflection of the Gods, while here, in this realm, it was more exclusive. Only people who were lucky or came from a powerful lineage could access that power.
Of course, one God could create multiple Echoes.
For instance, Mother Nature created almost all 25 Echoes from the Crypt of Nature.
Even then—people who wanted to create an Original Echo of their own were having a hard time finding a real source of power. Getting close to a God is not something easy, even the known Gods are really picky about who they deal with.
However, Rex was different—he didn't need the permission of the Gods.
All he needed was to pick his target.
Inside of him was the System, and the System could handle the permission problem easily.
Considering the King Marks were also forceful, this was to be expected.
Since our relationship is foul already, I'm not going to hold back. Kaiser, I'm aiming you first.
A smirk bloomed on Rex's face as he stared at the moon.
All of the Lunirich Gods, with a few exceptions, wanted to kill him.
So there's no need to play nice.
"Rex…?"
Upon hearing his name being called, Rex snapped out of his trance.
"Hmm? What? What did you say?" He asked, turning to April, who was looking at him weirdly.
"You've been silent for almost a minute," She said, then quickly shook her head and let it go, realizing Rex's mind was still not fully present. "I asked you to repeat what you said earlier. I remember it, but I'm worried that I got it wrong—could you say it again?"
Rex nodded his head, deciding to repeat what he said.
But he soon realized he couldn't.
<Notice: The Midnight Ghost could hear when someone was talking about it, and it didn't like it.>
<Midnight Spell has taken effect on the user!>
<For the next one thousand years, the user cannot speak about the Midnight Ghost.>
"What?" Rex muttered aloud, inciting a questioning look from April. But he quickly recovered, "I can't repeat it. For some reason, that… that thing I told you did not want me to talk about it again, so you have to go by memory."
"It's that strong?" April asked incredulously.
For it to forbid Rex like this meant that it wasn't an ordinary being.
But then again, this Echo came from the 100 Long Lost Catacombs, so this could happen.
Rex glanced up at the moon, "It's getting late. I think I'm going to rest for the night."
"Okay…" April nodded, knowing exactly the reason for this.
It was a goodbye, at least for now.
For the rest of the night, Rex and April didn't do anything but lie on the bed together.
Strength: 2,735,000 (+1,868,000)
Agility: 2,111,000 (+1,689,000)
Endurance: 3,050,000 (+2,440,000)
Form Expiry Time: 31 Days.
…
Rex scanned his own stats and blinked in surprise, "Wow…"
He was quite impressed, actually.
Not because of his substantial increase in power, which was expected since he increased two of his Soul Artifacts to the Master Immortal Spirit rank, and also managed to reach manifestation after a hazardous amount of exercising.
Rex was impressed by how stable his berserk and sanity stats were.
It has been quite a while since he has had the System, but he couldn't recall the last time his Sanity stat was above eighty percent and his berserk stat below thirty percent. Compared to his increase in power, this was more incredible.
Of course, almost naturally, his eyes shifted to April, who was standing a little bit behind him.
She was the reason for this stability, but there was no chance still.
"Come on," Rex said as he turned to face forward. "Let's go back."
April nodded and followed right behind him.
Upon returning to the Mahkam Ruin, the people instantly notified Grant about his arrival.
But Rex didn't wait around for Grant and went instantly for Viora, who should still be at the place they used for the meeting, before attacking the Forsaken Tower. Arriving there, Viora was already standing outside, waiting for him.
"Have you reached your desired rank?" She asked politely.
Rex looked at her for a second.
Then, his lips parted slightly, "Kneel."
As soon as the words left his mouth, Viora's brows furrowed—an invisible weight suddenly bore down on her shoulders—forcing her to kneel. Yet she remained standing, recognizing that the command, while laced with power, lacked true intent to compel.
Clearly, Rex was only showing her what he could do now.
And it was clear that he had reached the Master Immortal Spirit rank.
Utilizing the Echo's true nature is a clear indication.
Then, not stopping at that, Rex summoned the Aegis of Moon Sentinel.
A golden halo appeared behind him, and with a snap of his finger, the life energy it exuded grew rapidly.
Rex's Red Dawn of Kaiser has merged with the Dark Auctoritas Echo, while his Aegis of Moon Sentinel merged with the Spellcaster Echo that he chose from another ticket. One enhanced his aura and also his command, the other empowered any life energy-based object to a higher degree.
"Congratulations…" Viora bowed her head slightly.
It was as expected—Rex's growth is incredibly fast.
Other than that, she also noticed the slight tension between Rex and April.
She knew what this tension meant, but she didn't pry further.
"Contact Great Elder Rosa and tell me that I've passed her test," Rex said sternly, with a bit of urgency.
Now that he has two Soul Artifacts at the Master Immortal Spirit rank—he needs a lot more Nightfall Stars as maintenance per day. Staying in the tower covered that weakness as the tower provided enough to sustain his Imbalanced Spiritual Veins, but now that he's outside, this has become a problem.
His Nightfall Stars are exhausted, and he needs to quickly replenish them.
"Already did," Viora answered readily.
Rex nodded before his eyes glistened, noticing something was wrong with Viora.
"While we wait for her response, why don't you tell me what I missed?" Rex asked, crossing his arms. "I can tell what you're feeling inside, and you should come clean to me."
