The King's Enchanting-Chapter 1571 - 1583: The Great Escape (Part 4)
The faint light seeping through the cracks in the wooden planks gently sprinkled inside the cabin. Suddenly, Situ Xuan, beside her, let out a low laugh.
Upon hearing his laughter, Jian Anning felt a bit breathless: "Why, why are you laughing?" 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"Originally, I planned to arrange a romantic wedding night this evening," Situ Xuan said with a low, yet still clear voice. "Didn’t expect we’d end up together like this."
He could still be humorous at a time like this! Jian Anning utterly hated this guy! If it weren’t for him kidnapping her first, perhaps the people she had contacted earlier might have come to pick her up after just ten more minutes!
"You still have the nerve to say that!" She turned back, glaring at him resentfully. Through the cracks, the faint light seemed to reveal his gray-blue eyes, similar to a low-key, smooth opal.
"Anning, I didn’t intend for you to be in danger," he apologized earnestly, "If... I knew it would be like this, I would rather trade my life for your safety!"
"Enough, we haven’t gotten into trouble yet. Quickly think of a way for us to escape."
Instead of blame here and there, she indeed preferred to escape.
Situ Xuan saw her get up, knowing in his heart that she was unwilling to get closer to him. His initially smiling face now bore a hint of somberness.
However, Jian Anning struggled for a long time but couldn’t get up. These kidnappers weren’t fools; they had bound her hands and feet with ropes made of thick, resilient leather rubbed with specially made tung oil. It wasn’t just hard for her to escape; even standing up was quite difficult. After struggling for a while, Jian Anning tumbled into Situ Xuan’s arms. He blinked, only feeling a soft, fluffy cloud crash into his embrace, with a fragrant, sweet sensation.
Situ Xuan chuckled, and Jian Anning was frustrated: "What are you laughing at?"
Situ Xuan simply said, "Nothing, you can’t run away like this; we have to cut the ropes."
When in the United States with Thomas, he had been through life-or-death experiences, and done many similar things. Tying and binding people often involved this kind of rope, so it’s unlikely even a strong fitness instructor could break free. When they were thrown into this small cabin, he carefully observed it—besides the pile of straw they sat on, there was nothing else.
Obviously, those guys were preventing them from escaping, hence the precautions!
This cabin is situated in a secluded location in the Alps, and it’s already deep winter, with snow still falling outside. There are no windows in the cabin, and to escape outside, you’d have to break through the walls or go through the front gatehouse.
There are about a dozen people who kidnapped them, and because of the snow, mountain roads are difficult to navigate. Even driving, the car could easily get stuck in the soft snow, about a foot thick. With these conditions, let alone crossing the Alps to Italy, it’s uncertain whether one might get lost while walking.
This cabin might be their secret hideout, usually without visitors, which is why they’re locked up here. Some of the kidnappers probably went down the mountain to buy supplies, leaving three men to guard them.
Situ Xuan noticed these things, then said to her:
