The Lich of Glory Knight Spirit: Moving towards Krimasha!-Chapter 216 - 28: Wavering Faith (5)
Chapter 216: Chapter 28: Wavering Faith (5)
In an instant, Jeremy vanished from his original position and appeared beside Gray. The speed was so fast it seemed like teleportation. Neither Gray nor Vivian had any time to react.
Jeremy slashed at Gray with his sword.
White feathers flew before his eyes as Gray felt his body suddenly jerk back, crashing through the balcony railing and flying out.
Vivian wanted to launch an attack. However, before she could make a move, Jeremy sidestepped, reached out his palm, and she was already hurled off the other side of the balcony.
The entire balcony collapsed.
The unprepared Black Cat, along with the debris, drew a parabolic arc in the air.
It was an incomparable power. The rest of the Angel Army had not even joined the battle, and the outcome was already clear.
Gray was thrown far to the east of Salted Fish Port, crashing heavily into the bell tower of a distant church.
The entire bell tower snapped in half.
With a booming crash, Gray’s body spun and hit the ground, dragging out a long mark. His chest plate bore a horrifying gash, clearly revealing the ribs inside.
Vivian was thrown to the west of Salted Fish Port, crashing straight through several houses and eventually being buried under the rubble.
The Black Cat fell onto a nearby rooftop along with a large amount of debris, landing face-first.
"I said... I wouldn’t last through the first round..." it grumbled, wobbling as it got up and taking a couple of shaky steps before collapsing with a thud, passing out.
Amid the swirling dust, the townspeople scattered in all directions.
The Liches all froze, standing like statues. Only the soul fire in their eye sockets continued to sizzle.
Flapping his wings, the already enraged Jeremy charged toward where Gray was.
Gray plunged his sword into the ground for support, struggling to stand up.
The members of the Silver Moon Knight Order had quickly gathered behind him.
Gray hastily raised one hand high: "Stand down—!"
"Holy Knight, sir!"
"Stand down! Their target is just me. You don’t need to get involved. Even if you do, you wouldn’t be of any help. There’s no point!" Gray raised his head high.
The dwarves obeyed and retreated, but the Silver Moon Knights stepped forward with their horses.
Tenidas had already taken small steps to stand before Gray.
"Holy Knight, sir," Carl, mounted on his horse, came to Gray’s side and said softly, "Even if we don’t join the battle, if you are destroyed, we won’t survive either. Please allow the First Squad of the Silver Moon Knight Order to die honorably here."
Gray stared blankly at Carl.
"Please allow the First Squad of the Silver Moon Knight Order to die honorably here!" the Silver Moon Knights shouted in unison.
Jeremy had already landed, standing thirty meters away at the end of the street, coldly watching Gray.
Looking at Jeremy, Gray softly responded, "Alright."
Carl drew the sword from his waist and shouted, "First Squad of the Silver Moon Knight Order! Form up!"
In an instant, all the Silver Moon Knights mounted their horses and quickly arranged themselves into layered, charging formations.
"In the name of justice! Charge—!" With Carl’s sword pointing the way, a hundred knights of the Silver Moon Knight Order surged forward, charging along the narrow street toward Jeremy.
"Would that be of any use? I hate these meaningless actions the most," Jeremy said, widening his eyes, flexing his sword hand slightly as he took steps, slowly walking in Gray’s direction.
Gray hunched over, leaning on his sword, watching quietly. He was still desperately trying to stabilize his chaotic magic power.
The next moment, just as Carl in the lead was about to swing his saber at Jeremy, Jeremy instantly swung his sword, cleaving both him and his horse in two.
The Silver Moon Knights swarmed past Jeremy like a tide, but Jeremy stood unmovable like a rock, still advancing step by step toward Gray.
In the blink of an eye, over a dozen Silver Moon Knights, including Carl, lay on the ground.
"You do not represent justice, thank you. Please don’t misuse the name of justice," Jeremy said with a cold snort. "You are just a bunch of evil creatures destined to die here."
"We defend our own justice, the justice of all living beings, not Heaven’s justice! We will die here, but this world will remember us!" Having recovered, Gray mounted Tenidas and shouted loudly, "Long live the Silver Moon Knight Order!"
"Silver Moon Knights, form up!" Another Silver Moon Knight quickly took Carl’s place. The eighty knights reassembled behind Jeremy.
"In the name of justice! Charge—!" Another wave of attacks surged forth like waves crashing against a rock. Gray also launched a charge from the other side.
Jeremy’s sword remained as fast as lightning.
In the swirling dust, Gray was repelled, and the Silver Moon Knights were cut down one by one.
As the tide receded, Jeremy still stood unmoved.
Injured and battered, Vivian wobbled onto a rooftop and watched from afar, involuntarily recalling what Gray had once said: *"Liches do not fear death, knights do not fear sacrifice. And I, am both."*
The Silver Moon Knight Order reassembled once more, and Gray struggled to stand up, remounting his warhorse. Though their numbers dwindled and more knights fell, they continued to charge relentlessly.
*It was an unimaginable scene.*
