Chapter 237: Chapter 07: Brotherhood_2

Dora had no choice but to stuff everything into the cavern.

This way, the speed became much faster. The two bats continued to flutter ahead.

Dora cautiously followed behind, glancing at Jones and muttering softly, "Lord Jones, if things go wrong, Master and Mistress will be angry..."

"Then we’ll deal with their anger when it happens," Jones replied expressionlessly.

After several days of slumber, Jones suddenly had a moment of "enlightenment." Of course, it was certainly not in the direction his parents had hoped.

The wind gently blew, and the blue moonlight illuminated the earth.

The clouds at the horizon drifted lightly beneath the bright moonlight. The plants rustled softly, swaying in the wind.

The vast earth streamed beneath them.

Along the way, the two occasionally passed several Blood Clan Castles. Some were built on mountain slopes, others near rivers, or on plains and within forests. In short, there were castles of various types and styles. There was always some distance maintained between each castle.

Though castles were scattered one after another, with each family head donning titles like Duke and Earl—Jones’ father being called an Earl, Bailey’s father referred to as a Duke—the Blood Clan’s territory was far smaller compared to that of human domains. The Kolin Peninsula itself wasn’t large, and the entirety of Blood Clan territories combined were merely the size of a duchy like Beishier. But the Blood Clan population was far fewer than humans, thus each family’s land seemed vast.

Gradually, the castles ahead became more densely packed. Some were even perched on neighboring hilltops, indicating that Jones was drawing closer to the central region of Blood Clan settlements.

From afar, a magnificent sight finally unfolded before Jones’ eyes.

It was an enormous crescent-shaped mountain range, angled with one side open.

At its main peak stood an immense, dazzling white castle.

For the Blood Clan, white castles were a symbol of wealth. Most Blood Clan families dared not choose white as their castle’s primary color—not because they couldn’t afford white paint, but because they lacked sufficient manpower for maintenance.

Indeed, castles required upkeep. Without proper care, a white castle would quickly turn into a gray one, becoming the laughingstock of other Blood Clan houses. Maintenance required manpower, and the number of subordinate Blood Clan members happened to be a measure of a Blood Clan family’s strength.

Take the Jones family, for example. Forget maintaining the outer walls; even the interior upkeep of their castle was still lacking.

Crucially, there wasn’t just one white castle here. On each of the seven peaks of the vast crescent mountain, there stood a white castle—some large, some smaller.

However, that wasn’t the most remarkable part.

What was truly astonishing was the appearance of a Blood Clan "city-state" here. At the plains in the center of the crescent mountain range, an array of buildings sprawled across the landscape.

Of course, on the scale of human cities, this wouldn’t qualify as a "city"—at most, it would be considered a "town." But for the Blood Clan, it was already quite extraordinary. This signified that numerous Blood Clan members had achieved genuine congregation here.

As a result, this place housed various commercial activities, much like human towns.

Living here were not only the Sambo family’s subordinates but also numerous merchants and independent individuals. The residents weren’t limited to Blood Clan members; there were goblins, dwarves, and many other supernatural races. The most important trading activity here was Blood Clan commerce... Yes, you could buy a Blood Clan member here if you had enough money. You could also purchase mummies, zombies, goblins, or similar subordinates. Even humans were occasionally for sale.

Reportedly, Dora’s parents were acquired here by Count Dracula.

Dwarves would come to peddle equipment, while elves sold magical items and various peculiar potions.

Merchants even offered door-to-door delivery services. The human blood upon which the Jones family relied for survival was delivered from here. As for where merchants sourced it, that wasn’t something high-ranking Blood Clan members bothered to concern themselves with—they only cared about its freshness.

This place was referred to as "Hilde" by the Blood Clan, meaning "Heart," the place that supplies lifeblood to the limbs. Without such a location, the upper echelon of the Blood Clan could not sustain their noble and elegant lifestyles.

Of course, precisely because "Hilde" was within the Sambo family’s territory, one could imagine the benefits they reaped from it. This was precisely what allowed them to become one of the three major Blood Clan families.

It was said that Adelle’s father was a prince. The Sambo family had a total of seven princes—one for each of the seven castles.

Sweeping his gaze briefly ahead, Jones flew towards the smallest castle situated furthest to the right, with Dora tailing tightly behind.

In front of the castle was an enormous mountaintop garden, complete with fountains, manicured lawns, and even a red carpet rolled out.

A few "carriages" pulled by unicorns were parked there.

At the entrance stood six fully armed Zombie Guards alongside a vampire butler dressed in formal attire.

Fluttering his wings, Jones landed before them and was about to enter, but one of the Zombie Guards blocked his path with a ceremonial halberd.

The vampire butler, with his neatly combed hair and signature little mustache, immediately stepped forward toward Jones.

Before he could even speak, Jones handed over an invitation.

Upon opening and glancing briefly at it, the vampire butler hesitated for a moment—but only briefly. He quickly gestured for the Zombie Guards to step aside, then turned sideways and made a "please" gesture.
