The Lustful Villain: Every Milfs and Gilfs are Mine!-Chapter 71. This Desire Authority System Really Saved My Ass
Rex nodded and stood up to leave, pleased with how well that had gone. He had taken about three steps toward the hallway when a hand grabbed his wrist and pulled.
He turned around and saw Helena, who had apparently been in the room the whole time without him noticing. This was impressive because he usually paid a lot of attention to where Helena was.
She took him into the side hallway and let go of his wrist. Then she crossed her arms and looked at him with an expression that was displeased and wanted a real answer.
"Telekinesis," she said.
’What...? She fucking knew...?!’ Rex thought about his choices for about two seconds.
His Foresight showed him a few ways to go. In most of them, he tried to change the subject, but Helena called him out with the accuracy of someone who had spent years figuring out when her kids were lying to her.
"Yeah, seems like you noticed that when I fight Kruger," he said without lying.
Helena blinked. It seems that she was ready for more trouble. "You’ve... had it all along?"
"Since not long after we met," Rex said. "It seems like I’m special, just like Evelyn is too..."
"It seems not fair for reincarnators like us having a head start with such an overpowered ability, right? Telekinesis was the first power I got when I was in trouble, of course."
"And you didn’t say anything because...?" Helena still asked.
"Because I was new and you didn’t know me, and walking into a group of skilled fighters and saying you have an invisible force power usually goes one of two ways." Rex kept his voice steady. "Neither of them makes the other people feel at ease around you."
"And of course... I’m still trying to hide my identity as a reincarnator as well, and it’s already too late to hide from a genius woman like you." Rex seized that opportunity to seduce her with those words.
For a moment, Helena was quiet and looked at him with the same intense look he had come to expect from her when she was deciding whether to be pleased with an answer or to keep asking questions.
’My sweet words didn’t work, huh...? But my foresight didn’t show me anything bad, I guess I’m good.’
"You used it today to hold the demon." She said, "And when the axe stopped in the air during the Goblin King fight."
"Yeah... all of it was because of my telekinesis powers." Rex didn’t have a choice but to tell the truth anyway, "
And when I almost went through that window during the fight, but didn’t."
Rex wasn’t sure she had seen that. "Yes."
For a moment, Helena was quiet again. Then she uncrossed her arms, and her posture changed from one of questioning to something else.
She said, "You’ve been using it to keep people safe since you got here."
"That was the plan."
"And you kept it a secret because you were worried about how it would go over."
"More or less."
She stared at him for a long time, and he held her gaze and waited. At this point, his Foresight had shown him the greatest change.
What Helena did with this information would have effects on the next few weeks that were too many to fully predict.
Then she touched his arm for a brief moment, like she had done during the massage the night before.
"Thank you," she said. "Thank you for all the ways you’ve used it..."
"Your answers really made me think that I should’ve trusted you more, and maybe... I’m going to need more help from you in the future." Helena smiled motherly.
Rex didn’t expect that answer from an interrogation, which was useful information in and of itself. Even when she caught him lying, Helena’s initial reaction was to focus on the applications rather than the concealment.
She was the type of person who made decisions based on results.
And that would matter in the future.
"Don’t thank me yet," Rex said. "We’re not in the capital yet."
"No," Helena said, and the small smile she gave him as she turned away made it clear that she was looking forward to what came next.
"You deserve all the gratitude from me, dear."
[HELENA VON STARLIGHT: 56/100 → 63/100]
’Oh wow... she didn’t ask any complicated questions! The situation seems easy enough for me.’
’Did the desire system really help me that much to make women or girls act stupid and like fools?’ Rex asked his system in his mind.
[WHEN THE DESIRE LEVEL REACHES 50 OR ABOVE, THEIR MINDS WILL EXPERIENCE CONFLICT, BUT OVER TIME, THEY WILL BEGIN TO LET GO OF THAT CONFLICT AND DIRECT THEIR DEVOTION AND SUBMISSION TOWARD YOU.]
’Oh yeah... I’m fucking winning this for sure’
...
That night, the inn was surprisingly loud, especially considering the events of the day.
Mara had apparently decided that feeding people was the right thing to do after a group trauma, and she went into the kitchen with the focused energy of someone who needed to keep her hands busy.
Rex had never seen so much food on the tables in the common room in the two hours he had been there. The combination of being worn out, relieved, and having hot food had done what those things usually do to people who have been through something hard together.
They engaged in a conversation and shared a meal. Iris told a story about a past job that somehow had a goat, a lighthouse, and three counts of trespassing in it.
Diana told a story that Iris disagreed with every third sentence. Elliot laughed harder than Rex had ever heard him laugh, which made him feel more like a person and a little bit annoyed at the same time.
After the second hour, Rex left the common room and went into the kitchen to get another drink. He stayed there when no one followed him.
He leaned against the counter and let the noise from the other room fade into the background as he pulled up the system interface.
[DESIRE AUTHORITY SYSTEM - STATUS UPDATE]
[EVELYN ASTRALIGHT: 21/100 → 31/100]
[REASON: WITNESSED REPEATED ACTS OF PROTECTION. TRUST REINFORCED THROUGH SHARED COMBAT. DEFENSIVE ACTION ON HER BEHALF GENERATED SIGNIFICANT EMOTIONAL RESPONSE.]
[HELENA VON STARLIGHT: 56/100 → 63/100]
[REASON: HONESTY DURING PRIVATE CONFRONTATION. VULNERABILITY ACKNOWLEDGED. PHYSICAL PROXIMITY DURING MASSAGE SESSION. EMOTIONAL BOND DEEPENING.]
[DIANA VON STARLIGHT: 34/100 → 39/100]
[REASON: PLAYFUL DYNAMIC FROM ARCHERY CHALLENGE MAINTAINED. SHARED NEAR-DEATH EXPERIENCE. SUBCONSCIOUS ASSOCIATION OF SAFETY WITH TARGET.]
[IRIS MORR NIGHTWING: 7/100]
[NOTE: FRESH TARGET, NO PRIOR HISTORY. STANDARD PROGRESSION EXPECTED. RECOMMEND PATIENCE AND CONSISTENCY.]
For a moment, Rex looked at the numbers. Evelyn had gone up ten points in just one day, which was the biggest gain he had ever seen from her in one session.
That was because of the team-up fighting, which made sense. This special kind of trust only develops when someone places their body between you and a threat to your life.
It was significantly harder to rationalize away than the standard variety.
Helena was sixty-three. Seven points to the threshold where the dynamic would shift into something qualitatively different, and he had the massage session, the honest conversation, and the road trip to the capital all lined up as opportunities.
Diana was thirty-nine. The archery rematch was still on the table, and proximity on a long journey had its momentum.
And for Iris... she had a score of seven and had made no prior investments at all.
Rex was watching four active targets. Two of them were already past the halfway point, one was close behind, and one was just starting out.
He breathed out slowly and let the feeling of satisfaction sink in for a moment.
He was excellent at this as always, thanks to his experience in his past life as a fuckboy. And all of his success was not because of the powers of the system, not the fighting, and not the telekinesis.
All he did was read the room, find the vectors, and build the foundation in layers until what he wanted was certain to happen.
And he knew that in the near future, the trip to the capital was going to be very useful because he’s going to meet lots and many different girls, women, and even grandmas. He was looking forward to all of it.
"This second life... I’m going to enjoy it to its full extent." Rex then laughed with a low tone. "Hahahahaha!"
He took his drink and walked back to the common room, where he could relax and be around people who thought they knew who he was.
...
The party wound down the way parties after difficult days usually do, not all at once but in stages, people peeling off one by one as exhaustion finally won the argument against adrenaline.
The candles had burned down to stubs and the food had turned into crumbs by the time the common room was quiet.
Rex was looking at the last candle when he felt Lily next to him. It was the kind of quiet presence that Lily had learned how to do well, the kind that knew how to find him without making a big deal out of it.
"Hey," she said.
"Hey," he said in reply.
She put her arm through his and leaned against his side. For a moment, they just stood there in the empty common room.
Then she looked up at him with a look that was loving, a little shy, and also very bold.
"You said you’d do something for me again tonight," she said.
Rex looked down at her. "I did."
"You said last night would be special." She tilted her head a little. "Tonight is still tonight."
Rex thought about the night, the talks, and the quiet time in the kitchen with the system notifications in front of him, and then he looked at Lily. She was watching him with the patience of someone who knew how this was going to end.
"Okay, then, you naughty girl," he said.
They went up the stairs together, and when they got to the door at the end of the second floor, Rex opened it and let Lily go in first. Rex stood in the middle of the room while she looked out the window at the quiet village.
He slowly smiled. After that, he went to the closet.
The door was just as he had left it: the lock still clicked shut, and the ties were still in place. If he listened closely, he could hear very faint sounds coming from behind it that made it sound like the person inside was still awake and going to be a lot less comfortable than they had been twelve hours earlier.
Rex tilted his head and stared at the closet door for a long time, thinking about all the things he could do with the situation and how those things might help him in the future.
"Let’s have fucking fun, shall we...?"
