The Mafia Prince And His Reincarnated Nemesis-Chapter 177: Fabio Is A Nobody!
Eduardo handed the letter to Viola when he reached outside. The men were arranging their luggage at the back of the car as Antonio shook hands with Douglas.
"If we meet again, we’ll continue our game. When that time comes, I’ll defeat you," Douglas said.
Antonio laughed.
"You wish!" 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
Viola stared at the paper.
"I’m supposed to read this secretly?"
"Well, It would be better than reading it in front of me. I arranged another car for you,"
"Why? I could go with the others," she pointed at the car behind her. It was able to carry all of them, but Eduardo arranged another car for her.
"Don’t worry, it’s still going to take you to the airport on time,"
"Fine," she said. They wrapped their hands around each other and she entered the car.
Nessa poked her head outside the window, waving at Eduardo.
"Hey! Accept my invite whenever I go live! Okay???"
"Uh... Okay?" Eduardo answered with a smirk.
The car Eduardo arranged for Viola also followed behind. She sighed deeply, dropping her handbag beside her.
"Why did he arrange another car for me?"
"Uh..."
She heard a familiar voice from the driver’s seat and shot her eyes wide open.
"David?" She called. "Is that you?"
"I’m sorry, Lady Viola," he said. "This is the only way I could apologise to you before you return. I should have told you the truth from that day, but I didn’t want your brother to hate me," he said.
"Save your apologies, I don’t need it." She folded her hands. "But... Why wouldn’t you want my brother to hate you? Don’t tell me..."
David was quiet. Viola smirked and turned away.
"You’ve got feelings for my brother, not me. I’m relieved it’s not Fabio..."
"I have nothing to do with him, Lady Viola," David said immediately.
"Hmm," she said and the car fell silent. After a few minutes, she spoke again.
"I forgive you. However, you’ll have to promise me with your life that you’ll protect my brother’s happiness," she said.
He looked at her through the mirror and nodded.
"I promise, Lady Viola,"
She sighed heavily and looked away from him. None of them spoke to each other till they arrived at the airport.
He helped her with her luggage. She grabbed it from his hand, refusing to look at him.
"I’m really sorry, Lady Viola. I mean it,"
"Let’s stop this already. When we meet again, let’s forget that I confessed to you," she said and walked away.
He watched her leave till she vanished into the airport with the others. He hurriedly entered the car and that’s when his phone rang.
It was Eduardo.
When he got a call from him early that morning, he promised to lift his punishment if he escorted his sister to the airport and apologise. He agreed to it immediately.
’Does he need me to do something else?’
He asked himself before answering the call.
"Greetings, Master..."
"Have they all gotten to the airport?" His voice sounded calm. David pressed his lips hard before answering. He never thought he would get to hear his voice again.
"That’s good. Report to the manor as soon as possible," he said.
"Understood, Master!" He answered and started the car after disconnecting the call.
.
.
After a long drive, he arrived at the manor.
He was led to the office where he was working with Luca. Eduardo was meeting with a managing director from one of his companies. He waited beside the door where Luca was.
David stole glances at Luca repeatedly.
Luca frowned and asked...
"Why are you staring? Do you find me cute?" He asked, not sparing David a glance.
"Don’t flatter yourself. I was just wondering if you were the one who fought with the boss,"
"Boss?" Luca smirked.
"You know... Fabio,"
Pfftt
Luca held back his laughter. He can’t distract Eduardo from his meeting.
"You still call him boss when he has been fired from the house?" He asked.
"What?!" David almost yelled. Eduardo and his guest stopped talking and diverted their gaze to the two men at the door.
Just a death glare from Eduardo sent both of them out of the office. David shoved Luca to the wall.
"Did you just say... Fabio got fired?"
"Why? Are you scared it would be your turn?" Luca grinned.
"Shut up! There’s no way he could have gotten fired. Fabio is..."
"Hey, Fabio is a nobody. As long as Master is here, Fabio is just another employee like you and me, got it?" He shoved David aside. The door opened and the manager walked out.
"Luca, escort him to the door," Eduardo spoke from his office. "David. Enter!"
David walked into the office, slowly closing the door behind. His heart was starting to race repeatedly. He had just heard that Fabio had been fired. He was starting to sweat profusely, wondering if he was also going to get fired.
"Master..." He spoke.
"Did you apologize to my sister?" Eduardo interrupted him.
"Yes, I did..." He answered.
"Good," Eduardo said, and the office returned to its usual quietness. Eduardo started looking inside the drawer for a letter. David’s heart started to race in his chest.
"Master..." He called again, and Eduardo interrupted him when he handed him a letter. He saw the letter and swallowed hard.
’So, I’m also getting fired!’
He thought to himself and accepted the letter.
"It was truly an honour to have worked for you, Master. Even though you were stronger and able to protect yourself. I..."
"What’s up with the speech?" Eduardo asked.
David saw the indifferent look on his face and stopped talking.
"Just do your job well and make sure to protect Maya," he said.
"Huh?" David raised his eyebrows, staring at the content of the letter. It wasn’t a sack letter. His lips twitched into a smile when he saw that he had been given Fabio’s position.
"Are you sure about this Master?" He asked.
Eduardo glanced at him one more time before looking away. He had to do anything to help David since he was also a victim of Fabio’s crimes.
"You can meet up with Luca and sign the papers. You’re no longer my personal guard or secretary..."
"I accept, Master. Thank you very much!" He said, with a teary voice.
Eduardo watched him leave and suddenly leaned back on the chair.
"I guess that’s done. All that’s left is my grandfather... What should I do to that old man?" He asked himself.
