Chapter 49: Paintings of her

Dexter looked at the painting before scratching the back of his head awkwardly.

"I drew you. I used to talk to your paintings when you weren’t here with me. It used to give me a sense of calmness. However, I don’t think that would be needed anymore. I got the name of your university. Now you just wait and watch, mi amore. I will find out everything about you," Dexter grinned, and Elliana chuckled at the evil glint in his eyes while Daniel scowled at their conversation.

Dexter said she used to dress in Black and cover herself from head to toe, then how come he drew her?

Daniel walked to the painting Elliana called hers and looked at the female biker sitting on a rusty model.

He immediately recognized the model and looked at her with raised brows.

"You... You always knew that was the best model in the garage?" Daniel asked, and Alcinder and Samantha walked to the painting before looking at it with raised brows.

Samantha looked at the painting in envy before looking at the smiling girl.

Looks can indeed be deceiving.

"Well, that has always been my favorite model. I am the one who suggested those modifications to the technician. We can have the bikes custom-made by paying them extra. So I had used the money from one of my winnings," Elliana touched the painting in awe.

"I wish I could keep it. You did a good job on it," Elliana said, and Dexter smiled.

"Well, you can choose," Dexter said, and Eliana looked at him, confused.

"Choose?"

"Do you think I only made one of them? A year is really long," Dexter smirked before he motioned for them to follow him to another room.

"This is my studio where I draw what comes to my mind," Dexter opened the room, and Elliana and others were shocked to see the inside.

The number of beautiful paintings on the wall and the ground was enough to take someone’s breath away. It looked nothing less than an art gallery.

There were paintings of scenery, some modern art, and contemporary paintings. Elliana looked at the poses he drew her in and smiled.

"You are my fan indeed," Elliana chuckled.

"Your mysteriousness always attracted me to you," Dexter confessed without shame.

"The best female rider in the arena. The one that no one actually knows about," Dexter murmured, and the others looked at the girl.

Why is her life so interesting and mysterious? She never seizes an opportunity to amaze them, does she?

Elliana walked to a particular enlarged photo and touched it, her gaze wavering a bit.

"This photo," Elliana trailed off, and Dexter walked to it before humming

"This was when I first saw you. You looked like a demon in disguise dressed in black. I actually found you weird in the beginning until you started winning races. Don’t you remember that day when I walked to you?" Dexter said, and Elliana looked at the odd way she was standing.

She remembers this day. How could she forget a day like this?

This was the same day she was so fed up with her life that she actually wanted to run away from the royal Kingdom and never return.

She was 15 years old and had just entered the new section with Madeline, Addison, and Georgia because of her top grades.

The boys in the school have always been infatuated with her, so when they saw her in the new section with them, they wanted to befriend her.

However, this didn’t sit well with Madeline, who didn’t want anything but for her life to be pathetic.

Elliana remembered the class monitor inviting her to a party at his home. She wanted to get to know others and felt that making new friends would help her with her loneliness.

It was odd that Madeline didn’t say anything about the matter earlier. Elliana should’ve known that something was definitely up when Madeline was acting a bit too supportive.

At that time, she thought that maybe Madeline had a change of heart and she was allowing her to enjoy life for once, but she was so wrong.

~~~~~Three years ago at the class monitor’s party~~~~
"Hey, I am so glad you made it," the class monitor said, and Elliana smiled softly.
"Thank you for inviting me. You have a nice home," Elliana walked inside.
She didn’t have many dresses. Most of her dresses were rejected material from Madeline or a gift from her father.
Marla gave her a dress since she was going to a party and would ruin the name of the hunter’s royal kingdom, as everyone knew she was Madeline’s stepsister.
It didn’t look too beautiful compared to Madeline’s. However, her innocent beauty made her look ethereal.
"Thank you for the compliment. Let’s go?" The monitor looked into her eyes with soft brown ones of his, and Elliana smiled happily.
She walked inside the house and saw the various people dancing to the rhythm of the loud music.
"Would you like to drink something?" The boy asked Elliana, and she turned to him.
"I am sorry, but I still didn’t get your name," she murmured, and the boy widened his eyes.
"Are you for real? I don’t know whether to feel offended since the girl I am crushing on doesn’t even know my name or should I actually be amazed at your oblivion," The boy said before he took a deep breath and extended his hand to her.
"It’s Brad," he smiled, and Elliana shook his hand softly.
"Nice meeting you, Brad," Elliana was happy, but she didn’t know that her smiles were inviting many jealous gazes from the girls around her, the most prominent one being that of Addison, who had been crazy for Brad for some time.
"Madeline, why don’t you do something about your sister? I can’t believe that b*tch is trying to seduce Brad," Addison’s words were loud enough for everyone to hear, and the smile on Elliana’s face froze.
"What do you want me to do about it? What can I say to her? I think it runs in the blood. Her vixen mother seduced my father, and now she is trying to seduce the class monitor," Madeline scoffed, and Elliana looked at her from the corner of her eyes.
She didn’t like how Madeline was talking about the class monitor. The way she was already categorizing them made her feel pathetic. Elliana was just looking forward to creating a new friend and nothing more.
"Hey, Brad, can we go somewhere else instead?" Elliana asked, and Brad immediately nodded at her.
"Yes. I don’t think this place is suitable for positive people like us. It’s filled with too much negativity and low-minded people," Brad said, glaring at Addison with animosity and hatred, making the latter widen her eyes as she looked at Madeline.
"Did you see that? That’s what this b*tch does. Brad doesn’t even know her properly. Look at him, already being smitten by her,"
Elliana was happy that, for once, someone was siding with her and not them.
As they started walking towards the other end of the room to go out to the pool, someone extended their leg, and Elliana fell forward, gasping in shock when someone dumped their drinks on her.
She turned to look at the girl who dumped those drinks, and the latter just smiled at her in fake apology and guilt.
"Oops, sorry. I was just startled by you suddenly dropping at my feet. Is it a habit? Rubbing your nose on people’s shoes to get what you want? Or is this how you get everything done? By getting on your knees?" The girl asked, making everyone chuckle around her, and Elliana pursed her lips, tears clouding her eyes.
"Back off, Lola. You acting like this is only making you look pathetic. Drop this act before I send you out of this house because of your slutty clothes," Brad spat at the girl who had made Elliana fall.
"Elliana, are you okay? We should move from here. I can’t believe the amount of toxic people around me. How can they treat you like this? You have done nothing wrong to them. They are bored with their lives and think bullying someone is fun," Brad rushed to her side, and Elliana stood with his help.
If Elliana had thought that going out of the hall towards the pool would save her from embarrassment, she was wrong. This was just the beginning of the horror that was about to greet her outside.
Her dress was drenched. It made her feel sticky and dirty because of the juice, wine, or whatever was in Lola’s glass. Elliana wanted to turn around and leave for the house instead. Brad was a good boy, and he didn’t deserve any of it because of that. If he kept fighting for her, people would turn their backs on him too, and that’s the last thing she wanted after how nice he had been with her.
She wanted to make friends and not ruin someone’s life. If being her friend brings misery to someone’s life, she should stay away from good people like Brad, no?
As she kept walking ahead, she realized Brad wasn’t following her anymore and turned around. She looked at him with a raised brow as he stood there casually, deep in thought.
"Brad?" She asked softly, confused.
"Elliana, why don’t you wait for me here? I think you need something to cover your body. I don’t exactly have a dress at home, but I surely have many long coats," Brad smiled at her softly, and Elliana smiled at him before nodding.
"I’ll be waiting for you at that bench," Elliana pointed at the bench and went to sit there.
However, as soon as she sat, someone placed their hand on her mouth, covering her screams, and she was picked in the air. Her eyes went as wide as saucers when she noticed this person was taking her to the woods.
