But right after saying that she at up and then felt her energy leave her body. Oh my god was she crazy?! What the hell was she thinking?! Was she really thinking of following him out? To do what exactly!?

"Veronica.. you’re going crazy for a boy... oh my god..." she said to herslef, and yet as she sat there, staring at the ceiling, she could not deny that his departure had left an emptiness in her heart that made her chest tighten.

She exhaled slowly, trying to steady herself, but the swirling emotions refused to quiet down. Her mind betrayed her as it often did. She thought of her husband—his gentle touch, the way he used to make her feel safe in a chaotic world. But this time, it was different...

His memory was beginning to blur, like an old photograph losing its colour. And in its place, there was one picture. It was Jason, doing the exact same thing. touching her, kissing her, making her feel safe, feel loved and cared for.

And that terrified her.

Jason’s presence, his magnetic charm, was like sunlight cutting through the fog. With Jason, the pain of her loss seemed to dull, replaced by something… warmer. Something more hopeful, more real... and that kind of change, terrified her.

He was younger, daring, and unpredictable… and yet, he saw her in a way no one else had. It wasn’t just her body he noticed like most men; it was her, her true self.

If it wasn’t for the fact that he had so many women… Or he wanted to have so many women…Why did any of that matter anyway? It was not as if she was looking to get into a relationship with him, was she?

But even as she said this to herself, she couldn’t help but sigh… What she knew for certain was that she did things to draw a reaction out of him sometimes. The sway of her hips, the vulnerability of her gaze... And yet, Jason had never crossed the line. Not truly.

Even when her nightdress left little to the imagination, his focus never wavered from her face. It was maddening and intoxicating all at once. But was it right? Was it fair to let herself feel this way? To herself? To her husband? Was any of it fair? She didn’t know. She might never know. But she was sure that if she didn’t do something she might never find out.

Her fingers tightened around the hem of her silk robe. She had never felt so conflicted. The idea of dishonouring her husband’s memory was a weight on her soul, yet the loneliness of the past few years gnawed at her relentlessly, and then after a few more images flashed by of her conversation with Jason that morning, she nodded. She sat up abruptly, her hair tumbling over her shoulders.

Okay. She couldn’t let this fester another second.

She had to speak to Jason. Now.

Jason was in his room, reclining on the edge of his bed, a notebook open in his lap. His mind raced as he planned his next move in his silent takeover of Reno Ventures. He had told himself that he was going to sleep, but as soon as he got there, he had taken out his journal and began writing.

This was something he was doing every day to make sense of his thoughts and emotions, and it was working wonders on him and who he was and who he was becoming. But at the same time, it was pretty interesting to see.

When he heard the knock at his door, he set the notebook aside, a faint smirk curling his lips. Well, well, well... so who might that be? The answer was obvious. It was Veronica. That scene in her bedroom had gone perfectly. She didn’t stop him from kissing her cheek, and since she didn’t, he had finally gotten permission to escalate physically with her.

Jason had been planning to do so ever so smoothly, holding her shoulders or waist as he passed by, holding her hand when he thanked her, brushing her hair from her face just to get a good look at it. But here she was coming to him? Since she was here now, did that not mean she was giving him more excuses to touch her?

"Come in," he called, his voice steady and inviting.

The door opened slowly, and Veronica stood there. Her robe clung to her curves, the dim light from the hallway framing her like a painting. Jason’s sharp eyes scanned her face, immediately recognizing the turmoil etched in her features.

"Veronica," he said, his voice dipping to a softer, reassuring tone. "What’s wrong?"

She hesitated, lingering in the doorway. "I… I need to talk to you."

Jason gestured toward the chair near his desk but raised an eyebrow when she bypassed it, instead sitting beside him on the bed. She stared down at her hands, twisting her fingers nervously.

Jason leaned slightly toward her, his presence magnetic as always with open body language and a calm expression, hoping that she would see it and mirror him, feeling more comfortable in his presence and room.

"Talk to me," he urged, his tone warm yet commanding. The subtle pauses in his speech and the soothing cadence were intentional… he wanted her to feel heard, to trust him completely.

She looked up at him, her blue eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "Jason, I’m scared," she admitted, her voice trembling. "Ever since you came into my life, I’ve felt things I thought I’d buried forever. But I can’t shake the guilt. I feel like… I’m betraying my husband..."

Jason reached out, gently taking her hand in his. His touch was firm yet comforting. "Veronica," he began, his voice low and resonant, "what you’re feeling is natural. You’re not betraying anyone. You’re allowing yourself to feel alive again. That’s not a sin; that’s a gift."

He paused, letting his words sink in before continuing. "Your husband would want you to be happy, wouldn’t he? Holding onto pain doesn’t honour his memory… it only keeps you from moving forward. How do you think your husband would feel if he saw you agonising over this issue like this?"

Jason said this and sighed as she stared into his eyes, seeing how conflicted he was. This was nothing more than a reframing technique he was using, and it was just to shift her perspective. Perspective was everything in life. After all a glass half empty and half full were realistically the same glass, but their meaning were way too different. ANd it was way too true too, that it was the case, especially with Veronica. If she was trying to honour her husband, then she was going to make sure that her husband’s memory was not messed up, and that meant taking care of her relationship with Jason.

After all, if he was someone who had made her happy, then he would want her to be happy, and in so doing, he was effectively saying that her husband would want her to be with Jason, a presupposition that her husband wanted her to move on.

It was pretty fucked up, but this one method would shift her guilt into empowerment.

Veronica blinked, a tear slipping down her cheek. Jason brushed it away with his thumb, his touch lingering just enough to send a shiver down her spine. Everything was very blatant and very real. It was all meant to lead her down, even deeper into his love trap. Well, calling it a love trap was too much, but it was very clear that there was something real about it.

"You make it sound so easy," she whispered, looking at her hand cradled in his.

"It’s not easy," Jason replied, his voice tinged with sincerity. "But it’s worth it."

They sat in silence for a moment, the air thick with unspoken words. Veronica finally broke it, her voice steadier now. "I noticed you because you remind me of him. At first, I thought that’s all it was. But now… it’s more than that. I know now. You’re not him, Jason. You’re you. And that terrifies me."

Of course… this was what he had been building to this entire time. He had first angled himself to remind her of the husband, and then he had created a separation, even going as far as making her want to forget the husband because anyone would want to forget some unpleasant memories.

Jason’s lips quirked into a small smile. "I’m glad I’m not him," he said, leaning slightly closer. "Because it means I get to be the one who shows you what life can be like now."

Her breath hitched, and she looked up at his eyes, seeing the handsome face and the eyes that gazed deep into her soul. She averted her gaze, her cheeks flushing, and Jason, seeing this, couldn’t help but smile gently. Jason reached out, tilting her chin back to him so she met his eyes.

"Don’t run from this," he said softly. "From us. Sometimes, the only way to know if something’s right is to take the leap."

This time, Jason used multiple different systems, anchoring and generalisations, along with imagery. He used anchoring, touching her while calming her down to make her associate his presence with something that would be a calming presence. He used imagery to make the idea more real and then he used generalisation to implant the idea deeply, using the word "Sometimes".

Sometimes that kind of technique generalisation technique was all it took for someone to implant a powerful idea into someone’s mind.

Veronica’s resolve crumbled. She nodded slowly, her lips parting as if to speak, but Jason silenced her with a kiss. It was tender at first, a question rather than a demand. When she didn’t pull away, it deepened, her fingers tangling in his dark hair as she melted against him.

After Jason pulled away from the kiss the first time, she gazed into his eyes, laying back on the bed. "Can you make me forget, Jason?"

Jason looked into Veronica’s eyes, his own filled with a gentle understanding that seemed to wash over her like a warm embrace. He leaned in in the next moment, "I’m here for you, Veronica. Let me take care of you. Let me make you forget and remember everything at the same time. "

Jason’s voice was a soothing melody, and it resonated with her, easing the emotions she was feeling as she pulled him in for another kiss, his body melting into hers where she lay.

Jason made sure to control his kisses. They were soft and gentle, like paintbrush strokes and they were almost like he was repainting the images she had in her mind.

Jason’s hands caressed her face, then trailed down her neck, across her collarbone and down to her massive breasts, each touch sending shivers down her body as the pleasure went all the way through her body.

Veronica felt a warmth blossom, something that was born from passion, and soon she was lost in the kissing and caressing, until Jason pulled apart from her, only for her to say to him, her face as red as a tomato, "Sorry, I’ve been out of practice…"

Jason gazed into her eyes. So cute.

"That’s fine. You can practice with me." Jason said, continuing his kissing and caressing of her, making her moan and grab at him. Jason carefully touched her as they kissed, before withdrawing from her, and then carefully taking the nightdress off, his eyes never leaving hers.

When she was naked in front of him, he took a moment to just look at her, at the curves of her body… All of that stuff had been hidden underneath that exterior all of that had been hidden beneath that professionality.

"Veronica, I want you so badly, I don’t even know what to do with myself… I want to pleasure you. You’ll let me, right?" Jason said, leaning forward. Assuming she was going to say yes was going to make it easier for her to say yes. Anyway, they were already way too far gone by now. It as too late for her. She could not get away from him no matter how she tried.

She nodded with a bit of a nervous expression on her face and when she did, he leaned down and kissed her again, before withdrawing and kissing other parts of her body.

Her neck, her collarbone, and every inch of her was being kissed. As he did, he withdrew to look into her eyes watching as her mouth went wide due to the sight of him, worshipping her body.

Jason knelt before her, and she watched him with a mix of anticipation and vulnerability that she hadn’t felt for years, as he moved to the apex of her thighs. He kissed her stomach, gently softly, and then continued downwards and his warm breath sent a chill down her spine, then in the next moment when his lips finally reached her most sensitive place, she gasped, her hands clutching the bed sheets.

"Oh, fuck!"
