Chapter 43: Hidden Opponents.

Fu SiNian regretted not bringing his life savings to this outing, it was not within his expectation to meet such a strong hidden opponent in this secluded inn.

But nonetheless, he had no choice but to leave this place, the princess should not be seen after all.

“Fine, we’ll do as he says!” He grumbled angrily as he slammed the door, returning to the bed to dress himself appropriately before leaving.

Princess QingLuan, who had been listening in to the commotion at the door, was already well dressed, she had even put on the gauze hat, looking ready to go.

She was actually thankful to the rich man who had chase them away from here, because if the rich man did not, she would’ve been exhausted from just the morning event today.

Fu SiNian walked over to her and grabbed her hand in his, ready to leave the room, but she avoided his hand and shook her head firmly, as she did not want to be seen walking out of a room in an inn hand-in-hand with a man.

Fu SiNian nodded and walked out of the room, she followed a few moments later. As she left the room, a strange breeze appeared and blew through her silk gauze, flipping it over slightly and unknowingly revealing a part of her face before covering it again.

Unbeknownst to anyone, this scene was witnessed by a man on the top floor, his sharp eyes narrowed slightly as he saw her exposed face. He turned away and walked back into his room as she walked out of sight.

“Here’s a present for you, my princess.” Fu SiNian smiled gently as he placed an exquisite box on her hands.

Princess QingLuan quickly opened the box as curiosity filled her, what she saw was a jade statue, which looked exactly like her, in the middle of the box. It was obvious whoever made this had perfected the art of jade sculpting as her features were perfectly sculpted on the jade.

“As a royal princess, I’m sure you’re not lacking anything, so I thought of presenting you a handmade gift, as a gesture of sincerity.” He explained patiently as she stared at the jade statue.

Princess QingLuan was surprised, she had not expected such a man like him to be so experienced in jade sculpting, she wondered how long it took for him to perfect this present.

He stared at her intently, wanting to see her thoughts on his gift.

Noticing his stare, she looked up into his eyes and gave him a warm and sweet smile, as a sign of gratitude.

Fu SiNian ears turned red slightly as he saw her smile. He sighed and cursed his busy work life as they rushed back into the city, he had many issues to solve and a war to fight, his time with her had ran out after all.

She let out a deep breath as she watched him leave, happy that the first date ended up surprisingly well.

“Ah Luan! Uncle had been waiting for you the whole morning!” She heard a man’s voice as she neared her living quarters.

She flipped opened her curtains only to see Xie Lang jumping onto her carriage, “It’s your birthday today, what do you want to eat? Uncle will pay for all of your expenses!”

“Then I guess I’ll take you up on your offer~” She grinned happily at her uncle’s suggestion as it was already noon and her stomach was already growling.
